Thank you for sharing! I always, always refuse to re-read favourite books, because you know - there are so many amazing books that we have not yet read… I am changing this immideately!

Jen, this is an incredible video, so beautifully created and wonderfully insightful in your observations about the life of reading that C. S. Lewis encourages. C.S. Lewis is one of my favourite authors and I ended up writing my dissertation on his work and ideas on literature - so lots of digging into this idea of "chronological snobby", which was simply the best! Ahh some of my favourite quotes too! I think the tip about surrendering to a book is particularly helpful for my current season of life. I can often feel anxious to commit to a work, it's ebbs and flows because I'm anxious to get a particular reading or theme or idea out of it rather than be willing to simply make that reading process a hobby and let it speak to me freely!
Thank you so much for your lovely video 🥰❤️

Thank you so much Joy 💛 Oh wow that sounds like such an interesting dissertation to write and research! I so relate to your experience around wanting to get something out of a work, and finding it hard to let it just speak freely. That's certainly something I am working on too! Thank you so much for watching, friend. 🥰

    "Read childrens books" YES!!
I feel like there becomes this like stigma or something that once you've reached a certain age it's beneath you to read childrens, middle grade or ya.
I know, at least for me, that people think I only read ya and so if I don't like a adult book it's because I cannot grasp it. Or that because I read so much ya that it's the only thing I read.
And no. I read books for all ages in all generes, I read whatever I feel like reading. Yes, I do read more ya than adult. But I cannot help that there just are ya books that intrigue me more than adult books.
    I read what I enjoy.

Yes I think you’re so right. I don’t think we should “grow out of” a good book, regardless of the age category it was written for. If it’s a good book then it can be enjoyed by anyone!
