It’s not an 80s action movie. It’s EVERY 80s action movie condensed to 90 minutes.
The flight attendant who Arnold spoke to about his friend being dead tired was Chelsea Field from Masters of the Universe
The last 20 minutes of Commando is like the live action version of Ikari Warriors as he plows through the entire army like a stack of cardboard boxes 😂😂
Or the actual arcade game "Commando".
People have that John Wick garbage now that is like that - one man fights an army and barely breaks a sweat.
I can’t be the only one who thinks the guy with the moustache looks like Freddie Mercury!
Vernon Wells who played Bennet has described the character as "Freddy Mercury on steroids". A bit too flabby in my opinion, especially against Arnie, but whatever.
@@Kurahaara86 Yeah. Physically, it’s mainly the hair and the 'tache, but his whole demeanour feels drug+fuelled or something.
@@tomaskennedy Reprising his character from _The Road Warrior_ (Mad Max 2).
@@Neon-Puritan Ah, I didn’t realise he was in that.
@@tomaskennedy Screaming mohawk motorcyclist.
The Running Man is a pretty fun Arnold movie in my opinion. It's cheesy sci-fi with some memorable characters and action sequences. Worth a watch
+1 for The Running Man
Arnold was funny with Danny Devito in "Twins". Rae Dawn Chong who plays Arnie's female Costar, her Dad played in some funny comedy's back in the 70's, check out Cheech and Chong's "Up in Smoke"
Definitely react to "Up In Smoke."
Bill Duke was also in Predator with Arnold and did direct also Sister Act 2: Back in Habbit. Both Sister acts are funny comedies. This film is so fun. Its 80's action films combined into one single film, that doesn't take itself too seriously.
Yes, Bill Duke was in "Predator"
The little girl was Alyssa Milano
Rae Dawn Chong is the real-life daughter of Tommy Chong
One of my childhood favorites!
The chainmail was made for another actor who should play Benett in this movie but they replaced him with another actor, so that's why it looks so silly and doesn't fit to him.
Literally in my top 10 favourite movies ever. Which is ridiculous to say, as there are a lot masterpieces out there. But NO film makes me smile like Commando does, just from thinking about it. Not even wonderful classics like The Sting or The Shop Around The Corner (although some of those can make me cry!).
The more you learn the details in Commando, especially some dire continuity (self-repairing yellow Porsche etc), the more it's the gift that keeps giving. I even like his sponsorless, brandless wristwatch! The soundtrack is so forceful and unusual. Rae Dawn Chong plays his sidekick perfectly. And it's SO quotable (partly because everyone keeps saying what's going to happen, which is either correct when Arnie says it or woefully wrong when baddies do! And because the baddies are SO smug!).
"We'll take Cooke's car. He won't be needing it."
If you start watching Rambo, bear in mind what an awesome actor and writer Stallone was for First Blood (the first Rambo film), and also the Rocky films. He's very different to Arnie.
This movie has a lot of awesome one liners!
It's almost all one liners.
Arnold Swarzeggers most underrated and one of his best movies is RAW DEAL. He did that movie as apart of an agreement so he could get out of a terrible contract. Because of that he got the opportunity to buy the rights to Total Recall and make that in 1990. The cast and crew of RAW DEAL had alot of fun making the movie and Swarzegger said it was some of the most fun he had making a movie. Shame it's almost completely forgotten. The movie has gotten a RAW DEAL.
@MATT-2042 I do recall that one yes it hardly gets mentioned and as i recall it was noticeably less cheesey than the other SCHWARZENEGGAR films and was definitely a slick action thriller .
Getting back to COMMANDO great reaction from CAMI
one of those great over the top ...as 80'S as possible ARNOLD flicks !😄 💪
CHEERS .
That was a boy's night out movie and we all walked out after talking about how it was surprisingly good.
I feel like I need to watch RAW DEAL for the channel now! I have seen a few people mention it. And that not many react to it! Thank you guys so much for the sweet comment! I love to read them:)
@@Letstunein AS of now there are NO RAW DEAL reaction videos on youtube. If you do a reaction video to this movie you will be the first. Reviews of this movie there are only 4 on youtube.
@@MATT-2042 wow that’s unreal!! I think we should definitely do it! I will talk with our channel creator:)
I am just grateful that little Cami remembered her giant thermos!
You know it! :)
Love this film. Just a whole lot of fun
Eraser and Collateral Damage are also great Arnold movies. By the way, Chelsea Field was also in The Last Boy Scout with Bruce Willis. All of them are worth watching
Talking about Rambo, he has a pretty high kill count too.
Way more than Matrix in this movie, but also, there are 5 Rambo movies.
The first Rambo movie, First Blood, won't really keep up with Commando's kill count but it's the best of all the Rambo movies for sure.
Conan the Barbarian was his first breakout role and a pretty amazing movie
For more 1980's Arnie action, try
"Total Recall" (1990)
"Raw Deal" (1986)
"The Running Man" (1987)
Don't forget Terminator (1984)
I love the fact that Die Hard started off its script life as Commando 2.
This movie is 80s greatness
It is FUN. That is the 80s greatness.
I liked the part where Matrix said, "I remember I would kill you last Sully?" "I lied" I got a movie reaction suggestion for you it's one of my favorites, The Final Countdown (1980) The U.S.S. Nimitz goes back to December 6th, 1941. It's filmed on the Nimitz. It's like Top Gun meets Back to the Future.
Hahaha love this movie! Another classic Arnold flick filled with his famous one liner’s 🙌🏼 “let off some steam, Bennett” 🤣😛 it’s cool tho that good handful of 80’s movies still resonate with some younger generation peeps today like predator, terminator, aliens, back to the future, and even the abyss as well. Half those or done bye James Cameron too. Happy new years to u guys🍻🙃🤘🏼🤪
James Cameron is my favorite Director! Happy New Year!!! :) thanks as always!
@@Letstunein for sure! Hes def top 3 on my list behind Chris Nolan and above Ridley Scott. I’m a big sci-fi guy tho lol. Cheers!🙃🍻
Bennet got a real Super Mario Power-up from that electrocution!
Thanks for a, as always, great reaction! 🙂
Thank you!:)
This is one of my favorite movies. Arnold Schwarzenegger at his best! If you like butt kicking action this delivers the goods. Edge of you seat suspense is another factor. Well worth your time!
Arnie definitely had the cheat codes on during this movie lol.
Twins, Raw Deal, Running man and Conan the Barbarian are definitely great ones to check out!! New subscriber glad to be part of the community🎉❤️🤘😎
Aw thanks for joining!! I’m so happy to hear this!! :) see you next time 🙌🏻🎉
Arnold says, "I'll be back," in all his movies. I always hoped I'dmeet Bill Paxton. I would've said, "I loved you in Commando!" Just to mess with him.
81 on-screen kills.
Commando is Arnold's #1 killer movie.
John Wick has more kills, but also more movies.
John Wick kills 1 person every 1 minute 18 seconds.
Matrix kills 1 person every 1 minute 6 seconds, so Arnold has more kills per minute in this movie than John Wick's entire franchise.
Rambo averages a kill every 49.6 seconds in the theatrical cut of Rambo 2008.
Rambo is very different, with it being the action version of the war films of the late 70s, while Commando is the pinnacle of the 80s action film. The Rambo sequels are more in line with Commando, and a blast to watch. Last Action Hero is a great one that doesn't get enough love that I would recommend, along with Red Heat(1988) and Raw Deal(1986)(lesser follow ups to Commando, but still fun).
Rambo didn't start off being unrealistically bombastic... First blood is extremely underrated. I watched it again about a year back and that film doesn't feel dated at all in the way a lot of the "blockbuster" action films of the 80's feel. That and Cop Land show that Stallone could have done some serious roles (serious I mean as in drama) - it's too bad because I think he could have broken the mold that most people had him in as some sort of action hero.
so far from the chat we have Conan 1 and 2. Twins. The last action hero.
"Conan the Barbarian" was Arnold's early breakout role, and not very many people have reacted to it yet.
Besides "Twins," "The Running Man," and "Total Recall," "The Last Action Hero" is probably the best Arnold movie that you haven't seen yet, but you need to watch several other popular 90s movies (specifically "Amadeus") in order to catch all the jokes.
I’m excited to check those out! Thank you! My Total Recall reaction is coming up next! :)
2:36 He IS the guy from Predator.
The utter disrespect Kami had for Bennett 🤣🤣🤣
It’s true though, I kinda tore him up! 😂lol
@@Letstunein you said what we were all thinking when we first saw this movie. He made bad decisions 😂
Other Arnold Schwarzenegger films to watch include Pumping Iron, Conan the Barbarian, Red Heat, Twins, Last Action Hero and Eraser. This was made as a satire of Rambo: First Blood Part II
LOL, so true saying Bennet didn't look tough, as besides the crazy action situations in this movie, him as the villain was my only real issue. Dude had a gut, looked completely soft and seemed like a drama teacher at a local HS. Truly one of the worst castings in Hollywood history, as he was supposed to take on a 7 time Mr. Olympia winner? To quote John Matrix, "No Chance". LOL
I don't feel Casting was bad, Vernon Wells can be intimidating. Problem was the attire combined the lines they wrote for him. The movie was supposed to be over the top and not taking itself too seriously, but they went bit too far with villain being total opposite of John Matrix. Vernon Wells does good psychotic characters... Its just that knitted vest + Eddie Mercury Mustache combination with his lines.
Hahah I totally agree guys! Bad costuming . I almost forgot about the mustache . They did not help him at all in this! 😂 but makes for a fun watch all the same lol :)
Hi Cami, great reaction to this underrated Arnie classic :) I loved it :) He has the best one liners in this and is at his @$$ kicking best. Another Arnie movie I highly recommend is Last Action Hero (1993) please react to that soon.
ever watched 1986's RAW DEAL ?
Thanks as always James!! I will check these out soon!! :)
I recommend the Arnold movie, TWINS. It's a great comedy! -OG
The first Rambo movie isn't called Rambo. It's called FIRST BLOOD. Then, they start putting his name in the titles after the first film.
First Blood is not what you might expect. Rambo 2 & 3 might be more of a better comparison to Arnold's Commando. First Blood has more of a serious tone, but it's so, so good. You'll see what I mean when you watch it! 👍 -OG
The paunchy Bennett, with his leather trousers, chain mail vest, and Freddie Mercury moustache is THE most homoerotic villain I've aver seen. The padlock on a chain round his neck just sets it off. Vernon Wells at his most scenery-chewing best!
a friend of mine from high school got his private pilot's license first, and then he got whatever you need to be a professional. he was telling me about it at a class reunion, right after he got hired by one of the airlines.
Great movie. You know Commando was suppose to have sequel but that sequel was turned into a little movie called Die Hard :). Also The General in Die Hard 2 comes from the same fictional country as the bad guy in this movie and also that fictional country is where Predator takes place so Commando, Die Hard and Predator all happen in the same universe :) . You should other Arnold great movies like Conan The Barbarian, True Lies, End of days, The Sixth Day and Collateral Damage. Also You should also watch The Running Man (The best Arnold one liner movie) it is one of Arnold most underrated movies
I was gonna say this almost feels like Dutch’s life after Predator lol I know they are different characters. But would be kinda cool. :) thanks for the comment!
Bill Paxton recognition, awesome!
Dan Hedaya who plays the evil boss played Nick Tortelli, Rhea Perlman’s husband in Cheers and the spin-off The Tortelli’s. Sully is now famous as the ‘Dinner Reservation Guy’ in John Wick. Bennett was unimpressive as the baddie here, but you should see him in Mel Gibson’s Mad Max 2: The Road Warrior.
It's still one of the most fun/action movies made 😂
Other Arnold films from eighties are Twins, Red Heat, and the Running Man
Nobody ever mentions his RAW DEAL.
I grew up in the 80s with stallone lunchboxes and Arnie Posters. He was my hero. 😂. The man took out a mini army by himself cmon 😂
Just found your channel, great job. This is a great 80's movie. 👍🌹
To my shame I didn't recognize Bennett as the mohawk mutant in n Weird Science.
Great reaction! This movie may have resembled the sequel to " First Blood" but "First Blood" (Rambo's origin story) is more compelling storytelling.
My friends made fun of this movie calling it "Corrambo"
“What did you do with Sully?”
“I let him go.”
Me: “🎶 God bless America, land that I love…🎶”
Maybe Bennett should have worn the outfit he had on in The Road Warrior.
Both Arnold and an bill Paxton did 3 movies together THE TERMINATOR in 1984, COMMANDO 1985 & TRUE LIES 1994
2:44 This is for not separating your recyclables!
On my top 5 of best Arnold Schwarzenegger movies
19:58 this and the terminator had to been the movies with Arnold in scenes together until True lies I hope Arnold is okay from bill Paxton passing rip bill
Twins is another great Arnold movie. Arnold and Danny DeVito, Twins. Great comedy, one scene he sees a Stallone poster, his reaction is great.
I think the accent is what doesn't make Bennett intimidating. An Australian accent is so cheerful and friendly!
Arnold my favorite 😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍❤️ from india❤️❤️❤️❤️🇮🇳🇮🇳
RAW DEAL 1986 the movie that made 1990's Total Recall possible.
Arnold is good is action roles but my favorite is probably still Conan the Barbarian, one of his first movies
Also funny that they mention Val Verde, the fictional country in Predator
If you watch Predator 2, then you'll see Bill Paxton again! Granted, Arnold isn't in this one. I believe he was busy filming Terminator 2, so he couldn't do Predator 2. -OG
She’s watched it for the channel!
a funny film from arnold's early days as well as alyssa milano. it would be years before she grew up and played the most significant role of her career. 😊❤
"Cavalry" is a military group, "Calvary" is the hill Christ was crucified on.
Get to the CCCHHHUUUPPPPAAAA!!!
Dan Hedaya was the dad in Clueless
I'll tell you a very good Arnold adventure movie that no one on RUclips has done. It's called "Eraser." I don't know why no one has done it, but I see this a lot on RUclips reactions, that for some period of time, reactors just won't know parts of an artist's catalog. Take it from me. It's good. I haven't seen it for a few years, but as I recall, Arnold plays an agent for the witness protection program.
Conan the Barbarian. This is pre-Terminator Arnold. He's in the shape of his life here
Raw Deal. (1986)
You’re such a wonderful watch-mate! And is that flask big enough for two? 😂
It's clear you want to see Rambo now, but if you ever want to see the best movie of Arnie's rivals from the 80s and 90s, I recommend Sly's "Over the Top" (1987).
This Arnold movie is an 80s 💎 good reaction video to this movie.
The funny thing is that this dictator sends these laughably inexperienced men after Matrix. I mean the only guy that proved somewhat of a challenge was Bennett 😂
Die Hard With the Vengeance... please.
Thank's!!
The 80s certainly were a different time for action movies. The 'one man army' trope was used a lot in this period. I hope you got to watch Rambo. You will find them very different in tone and story.
"I lied" and "I let him go" are lines only Arnold or Bond could deliver............
Commando was non stop Arnold action! Underrated film. Maybe you could check out Conan the barbarian and Conan the destroyer. And Rambo 2 & 3 are my favorites with a lot of action. Didn’t like Rambo 1.
Yay they are on the list! I’m excited! Thanks for joining:)
For more of Rae Dawn Chong, a lot more, watch 'Quest for Fire.'
Last Action Hero
I would take Commando OVER the Rambo any day.
Well the Terrorist played the dad in night at the Roxbury
He is also the father in Clueless
@@brownstarslots and the lawyer or accountant guy in the 1990 Addams Family movie
Hi Cami, nice reaction! Eraser is another good Arnie action movie 👍
All pre 2000 Arnie is pretty fun stuff, after that it gets more varied.
The bad guy is the dad from Clueless
You should checkout RED HEAT, LAST ACTION HERO, RED SONJA
Watch Arnold's 'The Running Man' from 1987 for sure ! ( :
Had to watch it over and over and over when it came online. Of course my 3 boys were crazy about it.
Really enjoyed your reaction to it. Spot on all the way.
As we say in Texas; y'all be safe. Happy New Year!!
Hi Cami hope you are having an great and awesome day ❤
This is awesome
Eraser is a good one.
This movie has nothing on Rambo FYI Stallone is so deep as an actor
I feel like this movie is more of a response to Rambo 2
Villain looks like Freddie Mercury.
I recommend
Escape Plan
The 6th Day
Jingle All the Way
Junior The
Running Man
Conan the Destroyer
You forgot "Red Sonja."
Rambo is a downer
raw deal and eraser are other great arnold films
Conan the Barbarian (1982).
