    “You’re never going to get any sleep again” and “you think you’re tired now, just wait” is all I hear all day every day and it’s honestly so heartbreaking. My husband and I have dreams to continue camping and traveling and everyone makes it seem like we can’t have that life anymore and I just refuse. Our daughter is half of each of us, right? So why shouldn’t she be involved in everything we do, too? My sister didn’t take drives further than two hours away until her kid was 5 years old. While my husband and I are moving across the world when our daughter will be 4 months. (Military)
    I just refuse to let these remarks rule our lives.

My husband and I got married and chose to have kids right away knowing that we were absolutely not ready for it but that no one ever really is ready and you just have to dive in and do it. People tried to say everything they could to scare us out of getting married and to scare us out of having kids this young, but we’ve found that marriage truly is the most beautiful and joyful thing, and I’m sure having a baby will end up being just as wonderful. THANK YOU, I could cry... first time mom at the age of 33. People really do make parenthood seem so terrifying the moment you announce you're pregnant, when it's too late to go back. I am slow to accept change and I know that about myself, which is why it's taken me so long to be ready for children, I needed to hear these things. I know in my head that I can do this and we will be fine, but man the encouragement I got from this video really helped.

    • @AmallieGames
      @AmallieGames 2 года назад

      How are things for you? I am currently 18 weeks pregnant and I also have a hard time with change. Despite stocking up on supplies and my growing belly, the fact that I'm having a baby still hasn't really hit me in a lot of ways I feel, it probably won't until he's here! Curious how your experience has been, hope all is well!

    • @lindsaymayfield4773
      @lindsaymayfield4773 2 года назад +1

      @@AmallieGames we are doing great! I won’t lie, those first few months were tough in a lot of ways, I was induced after being rear ended on a highway exit and labored for three days as my body just wasn’t ready to give birth yet, the epidural was worth it for me! As a result of the accident, I didn’t have a car the whole first month, which was tough. After a 5-day hospital stay, I was very tired coming home, I didn’t expect that the baby wouldn’t sleep all night, but I later learned that is normal! So if it happens for you guys it is ok and you’re not doing anything wrong! Remind yourself everyday, WE ARE LEARNING! That was so helpful for me. Something shifted around that 4 month mark, I loved my baby when he was born, but in the months that have followed, watching him understand that he loves me and all the milestones we’ve reached together… I finally understood the huge shift that is a mother’s love. It’s overwhelmingly wonderful, I would do anything for this kid! The other thing to know, the gross stories and scary sounding stories that people tell: those things you just handle one step at a time, you’re completely in the moment and you don’t really have time to think about anything other than the next step, you’ll reflect later and be like wow that was tough! And you’ll feel proud that you handled it, and that’s why people share those stories. Not to scare you. I still don’t think it’s very nice of them, but I understand from their perspective a bit more now. You have totally got this, momma. Take it one step at a time, one day at a time, it will be ok and you and baby and your partner are just learning. It turns out pretty wonderful on the other side. 💜

    Congratulations for your second little one on the way.
    I had my first baby almost 2 months ago now and am still in the learning curve of accepting that family and friends are genuinely happy to help.
    I feel the need to do as much s I can myself, accepting that help tho builds relationships.
    Letting people hold my baby too for the first few weeks was so hard, i didn't want to be one of those overprotective mums tho so made myself accept others hold her and I'm so glad I did too
    Trusting your mum instinct is so on point too and needed, all we want as mums is to do the best for our child and trusting our Instinkt is like an inbuilt internal GPS it's such an uplifting feeling, makes you feel more trust in yourself I find, so empowering

    when you said women just have it in them this instinct and started talking about the "let your partner help" I just started smiling. I'm currently 37 weeks and i'm so excited to be a first time mom (nervous about delivery of course haha) and trying to figure everything out. I'm excited to hopefully do everything with my partner as well and include him as much as possible.

    First time mom here. 29 year old as fully transitioned as you can be transwoman. I don't care if you think I can be a mom or not, I can't imagine how I could love and understand more than her. I wished I could have become pregnant and breastfeed and all, and I hope this little angel can understand one day, but for now the two of us and grandpa are happy and I wouldn't change a thing! My boyfriends even spent a few nights with us, hoping he can be the father... thank you for this video

    I love that you mention keeping toxins (like chemical fragrances) away from baby! That is definitely a conversation that people aren't having enough, in my opinion. I only use Dr bronners to clean myself because I can't stand anything with a chemical fragrance or a bunch of weird ingredients. You must really love your man, lol. Personally, I could never be with a man that wears cologne. I'd rather be with a smoker than live with someone wearing cologne and I hate the smell of smoke too. Especially now I'm pregnant. But that is tolerable at least because it doesn't rub off on me. But chemical fragrances are the worst and they get into my hair, skin and clothes just from a hug. It's super gross, lingering and drives my nose crazy. The birthing center I'm going to actually had us sign an agreement to not wear any fragrances or bring anything other than essential oils with us and I really appreciate that about them. Just really nice to know I won't be plagued by strange toxic smells while I'm laboring and giving birth.
    I've heard that applying breast milk to the skin really helps any skin issues like baby acne and rashes. Have you ever tried this?

    • @margaretmatheny
