Any chance of getting some measurements? Wheelbase, lower headset bearing to foot peg(and to rear axle), rear axle to footpeg, footpeg to seat, footpeg to handlebar, head angle. Can the Arctic leap-race be saved with some love, like rubber around battery, etc? Thanks for another awesome review. Your really are the only reviewer to trust to do a broad, intelligent, informed and presumably unbiased review.
Was in Utah and saw some people on the trails with mid sized bikes like this (not sure which ones) and I was shocked how quickly they died, it kind of looked like the electric motion. I went for a short trail ride on my 125 2 stroke and I came back to a few already dead, not sure what type of range you are getting.
I have the ex800 and I don’t get any of that rattle that your talking about but the one you used isnt the white model so maybe some differences. I was slow putting it together and what did came together I went thru and tighten everything properly. Went thru and made sure the wheels were true. Painstakingly and kind of a nuisance but I think the worst part for me is actually the rear brake which works fine for most riding but the most extreme. and the kickstand is my completely big turn off but then again I never use it so it’s not a problem for me. I’m going supermoto. Got mine through charged cycle. They were all cool to talk to but reality is they want to make sales. I’ve had to get more reliable information about the bike from griftshift and wattwheels( he is the man you need to talk to about anything) generally has been cool in the purchase but with the Arctic your really on your own if you buy it. So I dont recommend the leopard unless you know someone that’s handy if your not. Otherwise my bike purchase has been straight. Mode 3 is ridiculous. I don’t get that rattle that they have but I’m not sure if they’re using a preproduction model with a tire swap cause the white models came with those trials tires and the black comes with different. Just for an example on the range. If I took my talaira too work one way,. I’d get there 93%( slow 15ish mph) or like 80-85%(@22-25) My arctic same ride. Get to work at 97%. Arctic definitely needs a few upgrades if you’re gonna be doing anything crazy but for trail/commuting etc. it’s perfect for what it is. Especially since bought at the price drop.
I noticed it’s a different spokes as well and more parts more to go wrong . I just don’t experience any of this with my leopard. Mine has been smooth sailing compared to my talaria which itself at its price point is good just wouldn’t do big jumps on it.
Great unbiased review! I can't believe how inexpensive the stock Surron is compared to the competition. Is the new Talaria MX5 in the smaller category I guess?
Is it possible to correct the artic Leopard? Are there some after market for forks suspension brakes? And are there some ways to correct the noise issues? I think range and power are the hardest thing to get so if there are some easy fix, could become the better bike to get.
Best reviews on ECR of course as usual. I'm surprised you only were able to test the Alpha version of the Dust as they are already past that model now. Cant wiat to see how the newer spec models do. Also surprised the latest EM didnt do better since its European made. Finally glad I waited to pull the trigger on an AL. They should definitely be called out for offering that quality at that price point. They do show what can be done with emoto and range though. Heres hoping all the manufacturers are watching. Cheers
Basically I would write off every bike aside from the Leopard due to the pathetic battery specs. I have a 3.6KWH battery on my sur ron and it isn't enough at 8kw.
3:45 I really dislike the way you guys cut off the bottom part of the bar graphs, it makes them useless for getting a visual representation of the data that they are trying to display, which is the whole point of a graph. If you didn't cut off the bottom of this graph, it would be clear to see that the Electric Motion Escape and the stock Ultra Bee are a little less than half the power of the Dust Moto, but with the way it's cut off they are just two slivers on the left side. Great video otherwise.
@@jimji2774 these are not budget builds. If you want to have the latest and greatest, it's gonna cost you. Yes I likely have more in this than my Varg but for tight single track, nothing compares
@@jimji2774 awesome, that looks like a great bike! I was going to get one but the battery is not quite big enough for me but the build quality looks great and you will love the sirris suspension!
The Talaria Sting R got 2nd place in our lightweight shootout - the E Ride Pro SS 2.0 won that comparison. We'll be doing an updated one now that we've got all these new lightweight bikes available!
Fiendish for more torque… I just equipped my MX-5 with Kenda Trakmasters, robbed me of torque and top speed but the traction is worth the sacrafice. I’m ready for the Dragon!!!
Just my opinion (never have ridden stock or modded Ultra Bee), but the Stark Varg is a much better bike than mod Ultra Bee, for less money. I realize it's heavier, but I can't see a use case where a 12.5k mod ultra bee is better than a 11k Varg. The Stark stock suspension is so much better then everything listed here.
Stark Varg is a full-sized motocross bike for full-sized motocross tracks. When riding most everything else, like tighter off-road trails or smaller tracks at a more modest pace, a smaller bike will usually be more fun and appropriate for the terrain.
Yeah the Varg is currently a real value but they are loosing money at that price and just trying to get people to buy it. Personally lighter weight is a huge plus for an emoto for me and I don't want a 265 lb trail bike again.
I would like to see one on full size road legal electric dirt bikes. Where I live it needs to be street legal and fast enough so I can keep up with traffic to get to the next bit of trail. Thanks!
I don't think there's anything that beats the Zero FX right now for a street legal adventure bike. You can street legal the Surron Storm Bee but it has like half the battery capacity as the zero FX and only goes 110kmh
Same I don't understand the appeal for these mid size bikes. They are not as playful as LightBee type of bikes and much less capable than full size bikes. Ranges doesn't see any better either and weight is not that much lighter if you consider the range of the bike. So what's the point ?
@@gg4760-k5n What's not to understand? Mid-size bikes are the 'Goldilocks' of the segment. Lighter and more nimble than heavier, full-size bike like the Stark, but more stable and capable than the Light Bee-sized bikes.
If you're going to be doing 'Stark things' like riding big motocross tracks and sending triples and quads, then a Stark makes more sense. But for most all other riding types and terrains, a mid-size bike will usually be more fun, particularly if you're not a big rider.
@@jasper_of_puppets To me mid size would be fine for small riders like a teenager or a woman. When I see adult sized men riding these, they look like they are riding kids'bikes and can just about ride standing, often times having to be rounded back because they are too cramped on the bike. I do mostly Hard enduro and then some enduro and MX when I can. Full size is the only type of bike I am comfortable riding and feel like it is the right size for me. And I am only 1m80 (or 6ft/5.11 in freedom units) so for anyone taller I can't image what it would be like.
I own both Arctic leopard EXE880 and EX800 as I am oficial dealer of AL for Costa Rica and let me tell you this is the best over all this are amazing bikes with best features, power and range.
Stock the KTM has better suspension but both are pretty similar. Like they mentioned the Ultra Bee with upgraded wheels and tires and suspension would be better. But The UB is fun stock.
Fantastic job as usual. My only feedback is on the bar graph reporting you are using. Like at 16:20 - it’s really important to show how closely these actually compare, so one bar lower for each place throws things off and makes the best bike seem five times better than last place. Either just rank them first to last or have a bar system that can reflect final scores?

Varg dropping their price to 11k makes this category interesting. You in some cases need to spend more now to be lightweight.

Does the modded ultra bee have a left hand rear brake and left hand Regen lever? Are they both for the fingers or is one a thumb lever?
Good question. They made it seem like they replaced the rear brake lever with a regen lever when they installed the new controller.
