My name is Rachel and I created Yarn At Play Crochet, because I love everything to do with crochet! My Grandma Mary taught me to crochet when I was just 6 years old, and I never stopped! I hope you find inspiration here to keep at your crochet, and maybe find a new yarn that you love. 😍 I am just getting started, so if you like what you see, be sure to LIKE 👍 this video and SUBSCRIBE 🔔 to my channel so you never miss a video. Thanks so much!! ❤️❤️

Is that all there is to it? Amazingly easy, or you just make it look that way! Thank you
I did a lot of testing before I figured this out. 😂 But thanks for the kind words!
That’s impressive
It took a while to figure out, but I was so pleased with the finished product. I am glad you like it! Side note, my daughter's name is Wilhelmina. 😁 It is such a lovely name!
Love your tutorial. How did you make the wig cap and stitch it down? Please and thank you.
I made the wig cap like I was making the top of the head for the second time until it was the length I wanted and then used a running stitch to secure it to the head. I hope that helps!
@@YarnatPlay thank you so much and thank you for such speedy reply. Happy holiday's to you and yours.
To you too!!
Hey I have a question! Can I brush out acrylic yarn, and crochet it into a loc?
Im not 100% sure about acrylic yarn.
Do you mean for your own hair or for an amigurumi?? I know wool is commonly used in dreadlocks as it mimics hair the most closest to the naked eye and it can be kept clean, but ive only seen that done on the head.
I have a head full of dreadlocks. I had a full head for 5 years and juat brushed out my fringe last summer/fall transition. My hair is all human hair, bit ive seen it done with wool.
I am actually curious, now that you ask, if i can use wool, and crochet the wool into a loc like girls do on their own hair for my amigurumi.
There are a number of ways to create dreadlocks, and depending how theyre going to be worn can help. Id suggest looking at techniques people use for crocheting dreadlock extensions as it will really help with the shape of the loc, but keep in mimd crocheting the loc foundation is not like actual crochet. There are no real stitches as locs are just that, locked hair.
I am seriously concidering just looping wool through the stitches of my snowman (im making a me snowman) and just crocheting the wool like i do my actual locs. It may not work, but i am willing to try.
I havent learnt how to do wigcaps yet and im a little nervous with my sewing. I also prefer the chinelle yarn, so i do have a slightly different project.
Juto to wrap up, i would do some research on the materials being used and why. Ex if its just a amigurumi doll research acrylics and see how they perform the way youd like. Or research how we make dreadlocks and decide the yarn from there.
