Serpent Sol, an invitation for those outside of Mexico to learn about my(Bolitamurcielago's) city’s beautiful ecosystem, history, and current situation by Bolitamurcielago: docs.google.co...
For some context, I'm chicano and my co-host, Bolitamurcielago, is chilanga. We both wanted to use Serpent Sol as an opportunity for Mexican represation within the Warrior Cats community but more importantly we wanted to invite people to learn about Mexico. This the MAP is based on mexican flora/fauna and contemporary culture, and a few indigenous individuals were contacted to proofread everything.
This MAProject is called Serpent Sol! The Clans are suffering from a drought after the lake dries up. So Squirrelflight embarks on a journey to bring back water to the Clan. On her quest, she meets Sol who is playful and naive. They bond over their hardships while Feathertail reluctantly tags along. But tensions rise when they are led to three kits by a colorful figure.

As a Mexican.. I feel honored someone make a Map call of my beautiful and gorgeous country, Mexico have many legends, the most popular of all of them is “la llorona”, but anyways, I think this Storyboard is amazing, love so much your ideas cheeteh
La llorona has been stomped into the ground with horror movies. Its like a horror movie bandwagon for studios to be like, "creepy legend that might be... TrUE????" MistaGG is a mexican youtuber and has reviewed possibly every La Llorona possible and theres only one thats true to the og.
Im so happy that this brings more life into the mexican culture. Not mexican myself, but my friend had taught me their traditions and they're pretty rad (Colombiana myself). Coco could walk so SerpantSol could run.

Well you have to understand that cultural appropriation is extremely subjective to the person. Mexico is not a monolith, you know? If someone thinks it is offensive they should still have their opinions heard even if you disagree. But also, people worked and researched on it so it would be strange for such to happen.

Wait? Someone is trying to cancel this? Usually, in Mexico don't blame people when use things from Mexico and use them as a tribute, so, wtf????? We usually get happy when use it as a tribute. Now, another thing is like Disney try to get the rights for "Dia de Muertos" when they create Coco, that's something completely different, and is obviously that the owner of this map is NOT doing that, lol

I read a big part of the doc and although I almost never interacted with the people of Xochimilco as someone whos lived in CDMX in a very big part of my life and its technically part of wixarikas i can confirm all the final part, theres so many "green" proyects whose profits go only to the founders (who are mostly people of high social class or with a certain power), while the people who supposedly come to help keep a very small percentage of the project, and sadly this proyects are the first in being visibilitated with the turists, if you are a foreigner and one day you want to go help an indigenous community in the country or save a green area, it is better that you try to contact them directly, there are a lot of charlatans out there and I am not even talking about the entire issue of corruption in the country.

I really appreciate and LOVE this concept. As a mexican environmental scientist who studies our native species I LOVE THE SNAKE APPRECIATION HERE. I work with both Crotalus enyo and Crotalus atrox. I cannot thank you both enough for make this MAP, I was rooting for a mexican environment-MAP and of course I had to apply. I wish you best of luck and as a mexican: thank you. I'm so glad someone is *finally* speaking of the huge problems of Mexico and it's tourism; that part of our country tends to get overlooked and ignored, specially by tourists. We have, SO much culture, yet, we're overlooked by our food.
(Wich is *still* amazing, though, it's a bit frustrating every time i want to speak about my culture I end up hearing someone else talk about tacos..).
I live near Yucatán, and seeing people actually get excited over seeing Yucatán and it's culture it's amazing

I can not tell you how wonderful it is to see indigenous representation in wc's that doesn't bash the culture in anyway my god-- not to mention the serpent sol reveal was a cool idea!! all the storyboard artists did such a fantastic job bringing this idea to life!! As a Mexican, I really love the ghost form of Silverstream and Feathertail! Alebrijes are a really interesting thing, especially when they are brightly colored but pleasing to the eye and match each other perfectly!

I really love that the design for the StarClan cat is kind of reminding me of an alebrije. They're very colorful and fantastical creatures.

The best thing that I love about your maps is their unique and different and puts a different twist on the plot of the books. Your probably one of the first to do maps like these and I am so happy to be able to watch them. Your an inspiration and I swear to God I'll remember all of these maps for time and time to come.
I love how your maps have gone from reskin of the characters and stuff to full new story inspired by character. Each AU is incredibly fun and it's whole new flavor of fun.

This is beautiful. Portraying cultures on the internet is something quite difficult to do, but yall have done it amazingly. Learning about your culture will be amazing, and I will dedicate plenty of time to research and reading the provided documents before applying. This is such an inclusive project on so many levels, with many parts and lots of dedication and time.

I just read through the entire doc and WOW!!! I LOVED all the info ya'll included about your home!! I love learning about new places so this made my little zoologist heart flutter! and im really sorry tourists are an issue for ya'll, people suck and I really hope things get better! Ecosystems are incredibly important and need to be protected and I love the message ya'll are putting out about it!

As someone who’s family is Purhepecha it is pretty cool seeing some Mexican rep/inspo in the warriors community! The last time I saw any was ages and ages ago, so this is refreshing. :)
Sol transformation remind me a lot to Quetzalcoalt! No, no from the anime!!! The ORIGINAL QUETZALCOALT!!! THE GOD! If that transformation was feathered, definitely it would be Quetzalcoalt, sadly no, but I really love the concept of this MAP! I'm so excited! I can't wait to see it finished!!

I love this map idea, the characters are easy to see as well! I feel like the stalagmite that fell on BrambleClaw and sol was based off of the part where the stalagmite fell on sharpclaw and feathertail. Anyways I loved this map, I’m not too good at animation so I wouldn’t join. I can’t wait to see what it looks like finished!

I am so excited for this MAP. It has an interesting story and the designs are beautiful. But Sol though, man I love his personality, it’s a nice change in the character.
After reading the plot, he reminded me of Powder from Arcane (Not Jinx! Powder! Jinx before she joined Silco and went crazy), but just a bit. Here’s why I think that: (Arcane Spoilers ahead)
Both of them don’t like being left alone, they’re both carried stuff toys, they’re both naïve and emotional. Though a big difference is that Sol was jealous over Jay, Lion, and Holly from taking squirrelf’s attention from him, Powder in the other hand wasn’t jealous over everyone who takes Vi’s attention away from her, but she did have a mental breakdown after Vi and the rest of her family went on a mission without her. Poor girl. Also, SOL KITTEN-NAPPED AND THREATENED TO KILL THE THREE, Powder’s too innocent to do that! Before she was Jinx of course.

SOL MAP HELLO!! Applied for 7, 16, 29, 30, 37, 55, 63, 68, 69, 78, 102, 104! There isn't really a particular order, but any small part which includes facial movement will be especially amazing :) The storyboard team have done so incredibly well to get all of this together!

and applied! I've never been in love with a part as much as Part 6!. When I saw Imber working on it from the jump, I had HUGE heart eyes all over it. If there was any priority I’d like that one! Otherwise I'd take , 3*, 24, 34, 47, 48, 51, 63, 64*, 71, 100*, 108, 115*, 116, 125*, 127, and 129!! Stars are my preferred faves here :) (and oh boy, do I love king cobras. you both already know that though hahaha)
