how to make buttons from old book pages 🟢 DIY 🟢 junk journal decoration 🟢 TUTORIAL 🟢

- DIY! Make your own handmade buttons using old book pages! We all love using buttons in our junk journals, but the "normal" ones are really thick and sometimes they are hard to glue to paper. My book page buttons are not only very cute, but also thin enough to fit into a journal and because they are made out of paper they are easy to glue!
In the second part of the video I will show you how I use them in my junk journal calendar. This is only one example of thousands... the possibilities are nearly endless!

first, you are a gem!
next, these buttons are adorable.
finally, NO ONE on this channel judges you or the words you choose to express yourself & share your art.
we love you!
Thank you SO MUCH ❤️
I am so thankful you are bi-lingual and take the time to make tutorials for us! I always love seeing what you are up to. I love seeing how you combine modern and vintage.
Thank you so much ❤️ I highly appreciate your words and that you are here with me all the time!
@orielle … agreed!
Thankyou so much your so talented 😊 love these buttons xx
Handmade, homemade, self mad,
DIY (do it yourself) all mean the same thing so whichever you choose it’s actually correct. And even if it wasn’t, we could see from the context of your talking points, what you meant. And yes, we do love you and thank you. Your videos only make us better artists because of how much we glean from you !!
Love your laughter and your buttons. And the button with your name shows you are meant to be doing what you are doing. Thank you for sharing your creativity
Your English is awesome! If I may be honest, I love hearing your accent. And, of course, your videos are inspirational and fun!
I never laugh when others don’t know the English word or use a word from their native language. I am ALWAYS impressed when someone speaks more than one language. I can’t. ☹️ And, I love the sound of rain.
Another awesome tutorial, Luise! I think you are a natural-born teacher because you are SO good at it! And outstandingly creative. I LOVE these buttons and will make some today for a sewing journal I am currently making for a friend. Thank you once again.
❤️ Shirley
Love the sound of the rain in your video!
I love this page and the careful explanation you gave as to how to make these paper buttons. Thanks for all of the effort that it must take you to think in German and then quickly translate to English for your English audience. You do an amazing job! 🤗🇨🇦🤗 Liz
Luise you’re a great teacher! Your English is just fine, if I spoke German there would be a language problem. Love the idea that you have for paper buttons! It’s fantastic. Please continue to be yourself, you are wonderful. All of us are perfectly imperfect and that is what makes us who we are!
I so echo your words, Melinda! She's a peach!🤗
Same here. Love you to bits. Be yourself. Your channel is a testament to your teaching and passion.
I say self made and am American. People just need to be kind and not call different wrong lol. I love these buttons and am going to look at my papers today. Thank you and just be your charming self.
Thank you, Luise. I love the buttons!!! I also think you do a great job at explaining things in English! I always admire someone who can speak in two languages. You go girl! 😁 My sister-in-law is German and your voice and laugh remind me so much of her. ❤️
What a beautiful page!! You worry too much about your language skills. You explain things very well. I love languages and words in general but I can only speak one language. You are so admirable for so many things. Your art and your vision is so uniquely Luise, strikingly beautiful. Just be you because we love you as you are!
You make beautiful music with your art. You speak English very well. Thankyou for your time and videos. You teach me a lot of things I did not think of. You are greatly appreciated.
Adding the splash of coffee on the buttons was not a Luise Heinzl fall! I loved the effect. Thank you for your wonderful videos!!
I love what you have done with your page, very creative! I’m glad I found you today,

Your giggles are adorable and you share so many details, lol. Such an analyzer. This could be a 5 minute video but your specificity is adorable. ❤
You rock and when you talk it makes me smile. Thank you for adding peace and joy to my day!!!!
I think your page turned out fantastically and artistically delightful and is very inspirational. I have already started the button process and tomorrow, I will distress them, place my Diamond Glaze ( Judikans) on them, and when dry, I will add them to my journal. I will also give some to my creative friend and give her your info., so she too can follow you and see all your inspirational ideas. Thank you, Luise . I’m so happy to have found you.
Super nice buttons! I'm glad I have a dozen or more cutting dies to punch buttons. This saves me time and nerves. However, I have to confess that I like your buttons better because each of them is unique and no one looks like the other. It's always a lot of fun and enjoyable to watch your videos. Thank you for sharing your talent with us.
I love this channel and I love that you take the time to record in both German and English. Sometimes I watch both in the hopes that I will pick up some German.
Your English is very good. Thank you for sharing your videos with us. I love your ideas. I also love listening to the way you talk and your accent. It’s very endearing.
I love the sound of the rain! So relaxing for me. ❤❤
My sister was having a very bad day, so I made her a bunch of these buttons. She loved them! Thank you for such a great lesson!❤
You're an awesome sibling.
I am enjoying your teaching so much! Your English is phenomenal and I understand completely all you convey! So inspirational and delightful you are! Thanks!

Thank you for explaining in full how to make the paper buttons- just love how you sometimes use German words. Thank you for you time.❤️
Love how this page turned out. Flowers with button middle is so cool!
You explain instructions so we’ll, even when you think you don’t. I will be making. buttons for my journal and the flower idea is awesome.
I love all the quirky ways that other people communicate. I am not bilingual, and can't imagine how much I would mess up words in my secondary language if I were. Lol. I think it's cute and fun and I think you do a great job speaking English!!!
Thank you very much 🥰
I like!!! I planned to spend 5 or 10 minutes watching BUT watched all of your video. You make art seem simple but the outcome is anything but simple. Thanks again for sharing.
This is an awesome idea. I must break out my button punch and go to town punching stamped paper and book page for button. Thanks fir sharing your crafty goodness…Luise
I enjoyed your tutorial. You do very well with the English language. Thanks for this.
You bless me with your English videos. You work so hard to find the words for our understanding. I appreciate your efforts. You do well; I can always follow you. This button tutorial is fabulous. How fun to use those buttons.
Thank you so much ❤️
A friend of mine recently sent me a link to your RUclips channel and I am so happy that she did. These buttons are beautiful !!! I look forward to watching more of your videos, so I have just subscribed. And..... your English is excellent !!!! I would not be able to do a RUclips video in a 2nd language. I am impressed by anyone who can do that...... Thank you !!!
I’m really glad you showed how you inked around the edges. It seems simple, until you go to do it and then sometimes you can really struggle and get up hung on a certain step. And then you get frustrated. But, not if you watch,Luise! 😉 ❤
P.s. your flowers are very whimsical and cute
That is really cool! Those buttons look like real buttons! Your English is great - saying self-made is perfect! I don't speak ANY German!!! That was really exciting that one of the buttons you made on camera randomly had your "maiden" (that's what they call it in US) name on it! And ... the blue is beautiful, it looks turquoise on my computer! The result was beautiful!!! And I loved the way you showed us various idea's for position of the buttons. Thank you!
This video just popped up. I really enjoyed this. You are a great instructor. The page is delightful. Will bing watch some more older ones tonight.
I love the sound of rain.
I love these!! I have been in a bit of a crafting funk, but I loved this idea so much that I paused the video, grabbed some supplies, and made my own buttons along with you! I made some pink ones to go in a journal for my niece, both circles and butterflies, and a few plain book page buttons to keep in my stash. Now I just need to coat them with glossy accents. When I use glossy accents, I keep my items on top of a lid to a plastic tote rather than on book page. That way, if the glossy accent spills over the edge, they're still easy to peel off of the plastic once dried.
Thank you for the video and ideas. I can usually make most anything I see but I like the imagination to come up with the idea and that’s what I appreciate so much from you. Don’t get me wrong. I learn a great deal from you and techniques, so you’re the complete package..lol
Amazing Louise! You can really create something beautiful out of nothing. I love your accent. I know you don't feel comfortable talking but you're doing a great job. Keep up the good work.❤
Oooo, I love the rain sound. 🥰
Love the buttons & your style! The jokes you tell while working are so enjoyable, ie; “if I was on a deserted island, I might use acrylic paint” made me laugh out loud!
I like when you say self made, it sounds correct as what you are making is self made by you.
You would think someone would have realised by now, that we like to see exactly where we are punching our holes, and created hole punchers that are meant to work facing up 🤷♀️ I’ve been meaning to watch this video for ages - am a bit sad you’re obviously busy with Tim Holtz creating, but only because I love having videos from you every couple of days- am more happy that Tim has recognised your genius. Especially since you still have lots of great videos to watch 😊
You make a great teacher and your communication is good. Thank you for sharing your creative ideas
Recently hada young friend who played wit my hole punches & watercolour paper I had sprayed & splattered with Brusho. I covered the circles with glossy accents, but NEVER thought to turn them into buttons with my hole punches, so thank you for this inspiration.
It was hard going but it really turned out great. I like the use of the stencil. All different kinds of circles. Love the flower petals. It really is nice.
I love to listen to you talk. You sound wonderful. Also I’m making these buttons! What a great idea!!!! Thank you so much!!!!
Cute! As a newbie to junk journal I love learning all the neat things. Thank you 😊
I love the sound of the rain! We don't get a lot here. Just found you recently. You are amazing! I've been binge watching your videos!
I LOVE it. All of it. Your English is perfectly wonderful and we get what you are trying to say! Your descriptions are wonderful. ❤️
Lol, i thought it started raining outside my window, lol...love watching your procesd.
I had to come back and tell you how much fun I had making buttons out of all kinds of papers. Since watching you, it has come to my attention that many RUclipsrs have made these buttons, but between you and me, I find your creative page is far more interesting. It’s your creative style, my dear. Thanks again for all your videos and creative ideas. Take care and stay healthy and happy. By the way, I adore your giggle.
Love the book page buttons. And the final page is really cool.
You give really good instructions. Easy to follow. Your English is fine. Don't worry about not being perfect. I just wish I could half way speak another language. Thanks for sharing!
I think that we crafters can have such an "eye" that we notice things others don't. I love that. As far as language goes, most of us use words differently and many have a hard time speaking their own native language correctly, none of us is perfect. I like your passion for the creative process and the idea of the buttons. I like the page too. I just use mod podge and they also look nice covered in pretty paper. Thank you for sharing.
❤ love that you noticed about the 'Block' in your button. Yes, cool indeed :)
I love your beautiful buttons. They actually look old 🥰
Your ideas are fabulous. I love your accent and your choice of words. Thanks for sharing. ❤️
Absolutely FABULOUS!!! So creative! I love the idea of using buttons on the pages and I think I may also try using them on tags!! Thanks for your creative inspiration!

Another fabulous video. I love the buttons & can't wait to make some. Please do not worry at all about your words. I totally agree with @jmsl910...no one judges you by your words...I'm sure everyone will agree, we just want to watch you @ what you love to do & you do it SO WELL! I have not had any trouble whatsoever understanding anything you have been explaining to us how to make. Just be you because you ARE FABULOUS as you are!
Aww 🥰 thank you so much ❤️
I think this is fantastic! I loved watching you create those buttons and the journal page is beautiful! Thank you!😊
This is such a great idea. Not sure how it would all pan out with just one regular size whole punch. I definitely don’t think I could cut cute little circles, but I’ll save this thought for another day when I might be able to try to figure out another way to. I just love how they look and they’re so unique and fun.
The ideas in my head are exploding! TFS
Very nice! Thank you. The possibilities are endless.
That block thing is cool and yeah, life is full of strange coincidences, even for people with “normal” crafts, I am sure. some of those coincidence could indeed make hair follicles rise up a bit (goosebumps). 😊 I am really glad i discovered your channel -- pure fun.
Fantastic buttons. Love them so much. I am so glad to find your channel. Thank you very much for sharing. 💖👍💗
Very good idea.Love your sense of humour.
