You don't have to remove the mechanism to take the battery out. If you use a screwdriver (in the middle of the watch) you can pick up the metal spring and pull the battery away.
You’re absolutely right, you can. At the time I made it I was a bit worried I’d snap the thin metal clip so opted for the method I showed. Since then I’ve used the clip with no adverse effects and is quicker and simpler👍🏻
Do not do follow this video. It's completely wrong. The watch does not need to come out of the casing let alone be separated into 2 halves. There is a small spring that comes loose if you do this. Just take the back off the watch and you will see the battery and that it is held down by a small clip, in the centre of the clip is a small hole, just push a pin down into the hole, this frees the clip and the battery can be removed.
thank you for uploading, my last casio i tried to change battery had springs in it that shot out and and were lost, so its nice to be able check this watch which i am about to buy to make sure changing battery has no surprises
For changing battery, as others point out, you don't need to separate the layers of the watch insides. For simpler video check out ruclips.net/video/iDgFXNEAnBQ/видео.html Having said that, if you have button issues then you should watch from around 4:13 area in this video about carefully putting watch works back inside the case. This helped me fix a non-working button.
having the same issue. did you resolve it? Edit: Figured it out. The spring sits in a hole on the clip section. The hole has a wider opening on one end to receive the flange of the spring
You might wanna consider taking the video down as there's absolutely no need to remove the module and risk damaging the watch. The battery can be removed easily by lifting the latch with a small screwdriver immediately after removing the back (see ruclips.net/video/6K2Q0l0nhAw/видео.html or hL7sEoQHuCQ for example)

I end up using ur method bcuz I don't have safety ping and the tweezer I got wasn't small enough to poke the clip covering the battery
not correct battery can be removed without taking module apart , small pin to unclip the bracket holding battery in
A spring fell out with a larger diameter end on one end of it. Where does it fit?

For anyone reading in future, the spring sits inside a hole on the black casing, next to the cutout for the 2 small circles on the green PCB.
Thanks, can I replace the glass on this watch?
The hard way. I can’t put it back in
Doesn't mention the spring. 👎
