    I had a Genesis single speed cyclocross bike, absolutely loved it. there was nothing better for jumping on and it tackling whatever I wanted to throw at it.

    Go tubeless. It adds considerable more comfort, not to mention rolls and adds more puncture resistance.
    Take a look at segments on Strava then use the results to look at people's routes and copy them. I suck at finding off road routes so heavily use other people's.

    Single chainring = "one by" (1x) in the vernacular.

    The brakes might be smaller with bigger clearance in order to shed mud easier

    Hey. Thanks for the video. I would like to ask if the single chainring is good enough for hills/descents and for medium distance (40-50miles)
    Is it too hard to pedal on hills? Or too slow on descents?

    • @AAUK
      @AAUK  3 месяца назад

      Tbh, I don't ride this much now, maybe not even in the last year. Climbing is fine as the casette on the back is large, but you might top out on a descent.

    It's a lush bike. Would be nice if you made a video of how to remove the bike wheels. Can't seem to find a video anywhere regarding this bike.

    • @AAUK
      @AAUK  3 года назад

      You don't really need to see specifically for this bike. They are just quick release (the alternative being through axle) so you can look videos up on that 👍

    I was thinking of getting this bike then saw the Orbea Gain F35 2020 was about £400 cheaper. And saw you did a clip on that. Do you think the Orbea is better than the Boardman in terms of general use, assistance and reaching decent distance?

    • @utubebroadcaster
      @utubebroadcaster 4 года назад

      and I mean the Boardman e bike

    • @AAUK
      @AAUK  4 года назад

      £400 cheaper? This is £1,000 and the Orbea looks to be about £1,700? Are you asking eBike or regular bike? I can't really tell you what is best for you. For me, I'm trying to sell my eBike now, in favour of this CXR.

    • @utubebroadcaster
      @utubebroadcaster 4 года назад

      @@AAUK The Boardman eBike is £2.2k and the Giant FastRoad E+ 2 Pro 2020 is also that same price. The Orbea you reviewed is £400 cheaper but less powerful. Living in Kent, power up lot's of hills is a good thing!

    • @AAUK
      @AAUK  4 года назад

      @@utubebroadcaster Ahh, sorry, you confused me as you're asking on the Cyclocross bike review, no the eBike review...
      As I said, I would go non eBike myself, but that decision will be different for each person and what they want from their cycling. What put me off eBikes is the weight, so uphill is easier, everything else is not as nice a ride.

    • @utubebroadcaster
      @utubebroadcaster 4 года назад

      @@AAUK The Orbea Gain weighs 14kg, which isn't too bad. The Boardman 8.9 ebike is a similar weight. The Giant is 19kg, which is pretty heavy, so not sure how easy it will be to manoeuvre when power is off.

      @@bedathprop I put a different cassette on it, with road wheels/tyres and I just couldn't index it properly myself. I really should get it done properly or put the original wheels back on it.

    Anybody... I cycle on a 23mm tire Roadbike at average 14 mph.. Is this cyclocross bike suitable for the roads.. The UK roads seem particularly bad over last couple of years. I feel every bump in them. Any advice or pointers on this bike?!?!?! I've ordered a trek domane Al5 Roadbike which has 32mm tires but its not coming for 10 months
