So far, I love this thing, but the battery life is less than great... specially compared to the Crane 2 and Plus. Is there a way to purchase additional batteries. I ordered a couple from Amazon but they didn’t fit, just a hair too long. Any ideas?
Hi Bret thanks for the great info...so i just ordered/received the Transmount Servo Zoom/Focus controller a few days ago, installed it and at first I was able to pulled focus w/ some test shots but now it only zoom in when i turn the wheel to focus--not sure what happened?! Is there a button i press to turn on/off between the two features --there was no info that comes w/ the box? Also, my other question is how do we activate the "record" button on the handle of the gimbal--there's no literature/video i can find on that as well...would appreciate it very much if you could provide some info on these two questions, thanks!
Is there a way to control the (power) zoom of a Sony lens via USB (and the wheel) and the focus ring via the focus motor? Is there some quick-switch button for the focus wheel in order to control the USB or the Focus motor?

Can you connect two motors at the same time? One for focus and one for zooming
Can this control the lens' power zoom through USB the same way it can control ISO, shutter speed and EV comp
Just bough the weebill s and the focus motor to zoom. Do you have to reset the end points each time you power it on? I have the Ronin and to calibrate the the stop, you just have to press a button twice and it detects where the end points are for the zoom. That can get annoying if you have to do that every time you turn it off or move to another location

Hi Brad. Thanks for video. I cannot find hiw to control electronicaly lens zoom if my motor is dedicated for focus. I use same lens like in your video. On the app On zoom slide it moves the motor wich is conected to focus, on focus slide does nothing. Thanks

Hi. Hey my question revolves around zoom, how does the gimble handle the weight shift when you zoom? Should I make limited zoom movements? How far can you zoom and what lens did you test that on?
lenses like the 18-105 that he's using zoom inside of the body of the lens. So the weight doesn't shift enough to throw the balance off. I'm fairly certain it would only work well with this type of zoom lens, however i think the more practical use is in the focus adjustment for most lenses.

App looks pretty sweet, but when I checked the App Store the reviews are mostly horrible. A lot of people say it’s pretty much unusable. Is the android version any better?
Also maybe someone knows if zhiyun labs has any plans to add support for the BMCC4K? All they ever seem to say when asked about a certain camera is to check their official list and stay tuned.

Using a gh3 and super bummed I cant do moving time lapse without the image transfer. It was definitely a selling point, looking forward to getting my focus motor though
Oooph yeah that kinda sucks. Luckily a good deal of the other features should work just fine for you. The focus motor is a really cool addition. I've really liked using it so far.

No you cannot control zoom the same way you could before and you do need the motor for the weebill.

if this is true, its a very big dissapointment. Even worse the fact that you cannot silmustaniously use both zoom and focus, you need to choose only one, .cause there is only on USB C output from the gimble. I hope I am wrong, and there is a way to control zoom at least via ZY Play app.

Yeah the gh5 and this are a great combo. I’m not sure how big and heavy the lenses you use are, but the full frame lenses I use, including some pretty big and heavy ones, balance just fine with my a7iii. I would say it is a safe bet to get the weebill.

Hi. I'm sorry to ask you a question here three years after it was posted, but I'm asking you one because I think you're the only one who can give me a proper answer.
I was using cov01(TX), 02(RX), and 05(controller) for CRANE2S like PT-head, and recently bought two additional cmf06 zoom and focus servo motors.
The problem is that the two servo motors move simultaneously while turning the focus wheel of the remote controller cov05. Similarly, when the zoom button is pressed, it moves simultaneously. Of course, I set one to zoom and the other to focus.
The ZYPLAY APP works properly, and the wheels of the gimbal work properly.
Only the zoom/focus operation of the remote controller is a problem (and even the motor spins quickly)
I'd appreciate it if you could let me know if there's anything I can help with even a little information.

Hi. I have been trying to set up my new zoom and focus motor on my weebill and it is not working. I did everything like in this video, the orange light turns on and flashes, but when i turn the knob, nothing happens. i also noticed that when turned off, the motor lets moves freely but once i turn my weebill on, the focus motor locks up.
and in the settings in "priority" the wheel is not off so it's something else
I returned mine. It kept slipping off the lens and it would barley move the zoom ring.
I can't Control the Focus from inside the Zhiyun App. Why not ? :/
Yeah Bret you seem to be the go to guy with the We Bill lab questions. Please help me with my question. I recently bought the Transmount quick set up but it seems to be missing one of the parts that stays on either the sling mode arm or the tripod. Am I missing something here? Why would they sell only one of the connectors. That doesn't make any sense to me at all. PLease help! THank you!!!
Hey Melanie. So the transmount comes pieces together. You have to pull down on the gripped bottom part and then pull the top part with the 1/4 -20 stud away. I hope that makes some sense. It can be a little difficult to get it apart if it isn't attached to something.
Infosmercial thank you for the quick reply!! I figured out how to get the two pieces apart but it only works for one connection. So I’m missing the usefulness of the part, quick connect for the same connection. I thought it would have three parts. Two that stay on permanently. Know what I mean? Thanks for the reply
Ahh I see what you mean. Yes you do need two full sets of the transmount to get the usefulness out of it. It is just 2 pieces per transmount.

Sorry for the delay. So the thinking is that you plug two of the male parts on both of the threads on the weebill for sling and upright mode. Then you take the two female connectors and plug them on to the included tripod and another accessory like a monopod. That way you can either connect two tripods at once or quickly switch between a monopod and a small tripod.
How do you get around 'focus by wire' on electronic lens with A-B Hardstops? (Subscribed)
Sorry for the delay. So there technically is no way around the limitations of focus by wire since it is non linear. The hard stops will always work, but as a result of focus by wire, the focus may be off. Makes it kinda tough to do accurate focus pulls 😖. It works great with manual lenses and electronic focus that is linear (certain Sony lenses have it nowadays).
Infosmercial many thanks, last question have you tried any Rokinon type lens? The thread doesn’t work well will my Eldelkrone follow focus which turned me off getting the Zhiyun FF? Also great video.
You mean the rokinon cine lenes with gears right? I haven’t tried it yeah, but did spend some time looking at the edelkrone. It seems to have a slightly wider gear pitch and a slightly stubbier gear. The Zhiyun gear appears to be rather pointed and a bit tighter of a gear pitch. I’d like to think this would mean it would fit deep into the lens gears well and avoid any sort of slippage. That’s the best I can tell you for now. In my use so far using the gear rings with Zhiyun it works great. Pulling is incredibly responsive and rather smooth.

My Focus Motor Don't work on my weebill lab … Why ?
You may need to upgrade the firmware on the weebill. I do know that the motor was not working with earlier versions of the firmware. Starting with firmware 1.84 or 1.85, the motor became activated.
What firmware are you on and what phone are you using?
Sky Kim yeah that is possible. I know that some features haven’t been activated yet for android. I have spoken with the team though and they say that android updates will be pushed out in early January.

Fair enough. I read that the android app was just updated to allow for firmware updates within the gimbal. Maybe you could take a look now and see if it works for you. Cheers!

Zoom Motor not working with my Sony a7iii and Tamron 28-75mm 2.8. Just wasted nearly two hours testing and fine tuning this motor on my Weebill Lab but the Motor kept skipping and loosing the AB Points. I also noticed the Tamron lens is sensitive on the zoom ring pressure... just little pressure from Motor ring and it would get harder to zoom which caused the Motor to skip even more. This motor is going back...
Hi. Maybe I can try to solve this issue with some 3D printed follow focus gear rings. Let me know your configs.
unfotunately, zhiyun app is confusing
this doesn't pair well with the Tamron 28-75mm F2.8 very well at all! Horrible time setting it up and the balancing is completely all over the place, hit sooo many problems trying to sort it, really bad design, the gimbal was the Weebill S as well.
These horrible directions. You don’t show us how to attach the rubber gear ring.
