Kim - you have done such a great job on this tutorial! Very thorough and easy to understand. Great job!
A VERY long video, but I couldn't turn it off..... you keep us watching..... one of the best tutorials I have seen. Thank you!
Kim, I took your Armature class in '15 and just wanted to say how thorough both your in person and videos are. I have watched this twice now and each time gotten better understanding of just what the metal does. Thank you.
Kim did a thorough explanation. Beaducation is one of the best places for tutorials. Thank you for sharing
Thanks for the feedback Mary....and thanks for the compliment!!!
My hubby and I just took a week long class with Kim two weeks ago at the Wm. Holland school in Youngstown, Ga. She's a awesome teacher and holds nothing back about the tricks of the trade that she came up with on her own. Hope to take another advanced class with her the next time around.
Perfect length video. I mean that because, simply put, the more the better.
Thanks Kim. Lots of fun along the way of picking up some really useful tips and practices, let alone inspiration.
Cheers. Your sharing of skills and knowledge is appreciated.
All the best from Zina and Me

A very good tutorial video, I'm always on the search for ways to make creative designs on to copper and you gave me some new ideas with your hammers,
I especially like your "Rice Hammer" 😊👍👍
I have just "Subscribed" to your channel and "Liked" too 😊👍👍
Great to hear! Hope you learn a lot on our channel!
thank you so much for all this information! It's a gold mine!
Fantastic video, tfs. If you don't apply ren wax will the patina discolour the wearer's skin, perhaps if the wearer were to sweat or have moist skin after washing hands while wearing the bracelet?
The third hammer in the beginning of he video gave me an interesting idea. I'm attempting to get in to jewelry making my self and been looking at different hammers. The pattern on the face of the hammer looked to me like it was etched at first. I want to try to get a similar hammer and paint a pattern on the face using a sharpie marker. What I want to attempt is to use electrolysis to make a relief of that pattern on the face of the hammer. The sharpie design would prevent the metal getting etched at that area. All it would take is a power supply and a salt and vinegar solution.
interesting idea, let us know how it goes!
A very informative and helpful video. Thank you!
It's called the Poundo Mat and you can find it on our site as well.
This is a very good video. I learned a lot. Thank you
This is an amazing video! So informative!! Thank you!!!!
Complimenti!.... grazie di cuore per il grande livello e la grande capacità di insegnamento.

You sure can!

Kim I like to have one of those jump ring cutter. Do you know any one that can make it??
Hi Marilyn. Sorry for the late reply. We don't know anyone who can make that, sorry :)
hey, i love your work. Can u tell whats the thickness of the copper plate? hugs from brasil :)
+tawana cavalcante sorry for the very late reply. We had a shift in employee duties that resulted in some youtube comments slipping through the cracks! Those plates are 24 gauge.
+tawana cavalcante She mentioned it at the start 24 gauge, 16 gauge wire
Do you spray or treat the copper with anything to prevent it from turning your wrist green ? Great video's by the way, very informative.
Hi Bob! We recommend using renaissance wax. You can find our product video on this sealant here: www.beaducation.com/product_videos/97-renaissance-wax

Hi. Where can I purchase that black rubber mat?
Hi Jennifer, you can find the black rubber mat here: www.beaducation.com/zen_products/2177-poundo-mat-12-x12
Great detailed tips!
You mention a tumbler, what kind of tumbler and where can I purchase one? Also, I am just starting and have spent quite a lot on tools, do you recommend the hammer with the screw on heads to begin? Thank you!! I LOVE the bracelet and you are a great teacher!! Sandi Z
Hi Sandi. Here is a link to the tumbler and the steel shot needed www.beaducation.com/home/search?qry=tumbler
As for the hammer, it really depends what you are wanting to do. I like the hammer with exchangeable heads for texturing.
I have a texture hammer (it was an Xmas gift) it has 6 texture heads and I would really like more different heads. How can I be sure that any new ones will fit my hammer? Do I need to measure the thread and the diameter of the retaining rings or what?
I don't think the heads from other hammers are interchangeable. In my experience, only the ones that come with the specific hammer fit.
love this bracelet. I am trying to gather all my materials since I am just starting to work with copper. Where did you get the work mat? Also I did ask before, can you use regular jumprings? I am not ready to learn to do those just yet. Thanks so much. Sandi Ziegler
Hi Sandi! You can find the Poundo Mat on our website. Here's a link: www.beaducation.com/p/2177-jewelry-making-tools-poundo-mat-12-x12
Thank you!
What kind of hammer is the pristine, shiny hammer, what is the real name not the make or brand but the type T/Y
+Robert Beaulieu If you are talking about the flat smooth faced hammer with the darker brown handle, that is a Chasing Hammer.
Thanks, I have found there are as many different types of hammers for working copper and other metals as there are anvils. Hardy has a good selection of both.
Cheers
Hi i liked your video a lot. I want to make a few copper or silver logos in the shape of a mummy. Is there a way I can make a pattern so they all come out the same shape? Thank you
Hi! You could make a paper template, and trace it onto the metal each time. Good luck, and have fun!
beaducation Would you be able to maybe create a helpful video on how to do that? What Che Guerilla mentioned above that is. Especially for silver. Would be nice to see more how-to-do vids from you, on other styles, and other metals to create more with! :) Thanks!
Janee Polino
Julia Bosque Yes?
So loved this video!! Thank you!

Spring lured punched , I couldn't hear you, what's the name?
It's an Auto Center Punch, you can find them here: www.beaducation.com/p/295-jewelry-making-tools-auto-center-punch
Thank you!
I am going to make the jump ring holder/cutter thingamajig... lol! I sketched it out and I think that the guys at True Value will cut the Plexiglas for me (the 45 degree angle that is). I was wondering too, where you purchased your disc cutter. It has the larger holes (looks like 2 and 3 inch?) that I've been looking for! I thought I caught "Pepe" on it as well....? Thank you so very much. Again, your tutorial was not only amazing for the awesome bracelet, but for all of the wonderful side tips as well. Another great on: putting the lube on the back of my jewelers saw! Fantastic! Who'da thunk it? lol!T
+Teri Steinborn HI Teri! I am not sure where Kim got that large disc cutter. It might be by Pepe. Here is the one we carry. www.beaducation.com/zen_products/5488-14-hole-disc-cutter-pepetools
Hi! Thanks so much for getting back to me! I really do appreciate it.
I checked out the Pepe disc cutter that you linked me to and it only cuts up to one inch... I already have a Pepe ... a very nice Pepe at that, that cuts a bit larger than that however, I'm looking for one that cuts... actually, I'm going to purchase the largest one I can find!
I suppose I'll need to go to the Pepe web site or perhaps Rio Grande. But, I do want to thank you. As usual, everyone of you at Beaducation go out of your way to help every time I reach out and that's H U G E!!! in my world.
I plan to start living the "good life" (HA!) soon. By this I mean hitting the shows and selling my wares. I plan on advertising Beaducation every chance I get. If you have any ideas on how I can do that please let me know. I'm open for suggestions. Of course, I am doing this on my own. Many of my ideas and much of what I've learned I owe to you guys. So, this is my way of saying thank you. Unless, of course, there is some kind of company policy against this. In which case, I hope that you will let me know.
Again, many thanks.
Merry Christmas ~ Happy Holidays
Teri
+Teri Steinborn Thank YOU Teri! And good luck on your quest :)
Lisa
