Honorable mention - the time when Spider-Man's secret identity was outed to the public, so Kingpin put a hit on Aunt May that lands her in the hospital. Peter goes to find Kingpin and tears off the top half of his costume and beats the shit out of Kingpin - no jokes, no quips, no banter. Finally, he places his hand just under Kingpin's nose and tells him that it would only take him three seconds to fill his lungs entirely with webbing, but that he's not going to do that now. If Aunt May dies, WHEN Aunt May dies, Peter will track Kingpin down and do just that. Peter holds himself back from killing people because it would upset Aunt May, but once she's gone, there's nothing stopping him. And if anyone ever thinks it's a good idea to attack Spider-Man by coming after the people he cares about, they can look at Kingpin's battered body. He does this all in front of Kingpin's men, so that they see that he's just a man.
You know when Spidey puts back on the black suit, he's done playing around. And there's nothing holding him back from showing his enemies Hell in the coldest form. It's almost frightening, and we need that Spidey back.

@Vincent Franklin That's fair. I do want to mention Hickmans run is more of a hard sci-fi series with an unexpected twist, not quite dark for the sake of darkness like the first two Ultimates volumes could be. Not sure if that changes your mind lol.

You can expect Carnage to cause death and destruction everywhere, but with Joker, you can never know if he is placing fake bombs in daycare center just to shoot you with a waterpistol and tell a joke like "whats the matter? did you wet your bed?" or if he is actually trying to blow up the place and the little kids along it.
Like everyone one's friendly neighborhood super heroes turn into zombies and eat the whole damn universe... Jumps to other universes to eat more and cloning humans so they can continuously eat them... Something like I don't know... "MARVEL ZOMBIES!!?"
NS120121 Ultimate Fantastic Four wasn't always great, or always as well told as the original stories, but they were consistently *fun* ! My favorite stories were that sort of trashy trilogy of storyarcs involving the Ultimate Frightful Four (they were the Marvel Zombies Fantastic Four), the Ultimate Fantastic Four's debut issues, and the surprisingly smart reimagining of the Psycho Man as an invading space alien who tries to create utopia by making everyone happy and relatively equal in belongings and wealth.
*MARVEL ZOMBIES SPOILER ALERT* I mean yeah Marvel Zombies was pretty dark. Definitely darker than Infinity War. The Thanos one shouldn't be on the list. Thanos may have won but everything ends up being restored. But they end up saving the day in Marvel Zombies at least. It's kind of weird how they go about it. As there seems to be different endings for more than one Universe. But in one Universe an amped Dr. Doom wipes the Zombies out. Then in another an amped Sandman wipes them all out.
DC is like AoT: so much brutal deaths you get used to it. Marvel: When your sibling sells your PC so you sell their organs on the black market; get nae nae'd
No one can write Thanos well but Jim Starlin. If you don't write Thanos like Starlin, you're writing about a faulty clone. I stand by that till the end.
How about the Marvel Universe vs. The Avengers storylne. Back when we were obsessed with zombies, Marvel had the bright idea to make the Earth be infected with a cannibal plague. The story end with Thor smashing to guacamole Clint Barton's head using Mjolnir and Hawkeye was the last uninfected Avenger... Yeah Marvel else-worlds style stories are just plain disturbingly dark.
Geribaldi's Games Marvel 1602 wasn't dark in the slightest, and despite it's dark reputation their were issues of Marvel's What-If comics that had happy endings and even *SHOCKED* *GASP* happy premises!
Alec Norton It’s left ambiguous if Thor is actually infected or not. Thor had already abandoned Earth by then, and Hawkeye is left as the last uninfected Avenger as he swears to do right by them. Then Thor comes back to Earth, kills Clint then fucks off right back to Asgard. Punisher is the only uninfected hero or villain left by then, and he begins hunting down those infected.
>peter is a cancer ridden stalker SHOWS BEN GRIMM INSTEAD.... also i dont know where hes inferring that Peter was a stalker, he barely has two (count em) appearances throughout the entirety of Ruins..
That last story actually sounds like it could be a very interesting alternate universe spin-off that moves the genre from action-based drama to full on greek tragedy (with a few fights).
#6 - Red Skull throws a baby out of an apartment window... no-one saves it... next panel is a wide shot of the street with a bloody smear on the ground. - in the Ultimates series (sensing a pattern here lol) It's reported that right before this moment, Marvel told DC to hold it's beer.
.... yeah when infinitie earths happen why couldnt they move the earth by enough not two get caught in the gravity well, between the ilummaniti it shouldnt have been impossible
mdb45424 at least in Infinity War, the conclusion of no choice to change the outcome was thought out, with Loki sealing his fate for the Tesseract, Knowhere was all a trap, Strange breaking his vow for the Time Stone AND using it to reverse any reprecussions of sacrifice, Gamora was a dead woman walking, etc. etc.
mdb45424 that's what they tried the first time with the infinity gauntlet, but they couldn't do it a second time because the attempt caused the infinity gauntlet's gems(except for one which disappeared) to shatter.
Thats the thing, they are NOT the characters you are trying to compare them to, they are that universes version of them, they may technically be the same person but they really are not. Think about it like this, your life and the kind of person you are could be totally different to what it is now if a simple thing had happened differently in your life so why wouldn't an entirely different living being whos life is different than yours and grew up in a world whose reality works differently than your own not also be a different person persona wise? Do you really want thousands of the same exact character in every universe? what would be the point in telling their stories if they are exactly the same as 616 version? I see them as different people with a small connection so its doesnt bother me when they act differently because the version I do like still exists.

Do a few more of these. There's like a ton of other darker comics than infinity war.
Bro it's already stated in the title that these are darker than infinity war
Marvel Zombies
5? Just 5? There's 100's of issues far darker
nice profile pic man
Lelouch Yagami its best just name five instead of all of them
like what?
Marvel zombies and Old Man Logan are just 2 easy ones.
*MARVEL ZOMBIES SPOILER ALERT*
I mean yeah Marvel Zombies was pretty dark.
*Mr Tony, I don't feel so good.*
Richie Sahlin its mr sark i dont feel so good
its not sark ITS STARK
The creator of the channel is NAMED Tony.
*GASPS* dun dun duuuuuunn
Spiderman: Mr Tony I am sorry
Me: (unaffected)
Most others: WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH
When I see these kind of comic storylines it just makes me think they’re written by guys who hate comics and comic readers.
The title should of have been changed to “5 times Marvel was darker than DC”
DC is like AoT: so much brutal deaths you get used to it.
Marvel: When your sibling sells your PC so you sell their organs on the black market; get nae nae'd
No one can write Thanos well but Jim Starlin.
If you don't write Thanos like Starlin, you're writing about a faulty clone. I stand by that till the end.
I think that time R2-D2 fell down a flight of stairs was darker than Infinity War. Saying it was depressing is really stretching
I thought the plauge didn't affect Asgardains
Far from home spoiler. Sort of.
That illusion that Mysterio makes Spider Man experience that has that Iron Man suit. That was terrifying.
>peter is a cancer ridden stalker
SHOWS BEN GRIMM INSTEAD....
also i dont know where hes inferring that Peter was a stalker, he barely has two (count em) appearances throughout the entirety of Ruins..
The thumbnail is dark

@@asianjack4226 How do you typo?
That last story actually sounds like it could be a very interesting alternate universe spin-off that moves the genre from action-based drama to full on greek tragedy (with a few fights).
Thanos tried to protect himself with iron man and it reminded me of the thumbnail
Ramon Ceaser too soon...
yosapol pratyawiwathanadacha sorry, it’s just on scene looked like the thumbnail was about to happen
But luckily, Thor's hammer saved him
Nope, Thanos saw Thor throwing Mjolnir so he used Tony to block it
I’m meant that it looked like it
Funnily enough, that “super dead” ultimate Spiderman is actually not dead anymore. He got revived shortly before the most recent ‘Secret Wars’
Fixable100 H Franklin Richards already remade 1610 though.
I want a Thanos Singing Quartet

#6 - Red Skull throws a baby out of an apartment window... no-one saves it... next panel is a wide shot of the street with a bloody smear on the ground. - in the Ultimates series (sensing a pattern here lol)
It's reported that right before this moment, Marvel told DC to hold it's beer.
More like hold it's baby...

It’s not a competition, why is it a competition?
Lee Spidor
Or like Jennifer hart who drugged her six adopted kids and drove off a cliff
@L He didn't rape her. She liked it
@L Deathstroke didn't rape Terra, it was consensual. She thought he loved her.
And Carnage: Mind Bomb is darker than all these.
Hell yes! Such an over the top, crazy comic.
What happened?
Implying that Infinity War is dark
Jarl Balgruuf if you don't know that most of those that vanished have sequel movies, then yes. It's dark
Jarl Balgruuf Darkest, so relative to normal MCU
Jarl Balgruuf half the life in the universe dissapears and the villain wins.... yeah pretty dark by pg-13 standards
It fucking is
Implying no one felt depressed or worried for the future for even worse results.
I came here cause I was hoping you would bring up "Ruins"
Yay you did =)

The darkest moment was when JEAN GREY (16) WAS A PROSTITUTING ON THE STREET AND GOT CAPPED BY NICK FURY

PS: Infinity War comic Is not about the snap.
That's the Infinity Gauntlet.
Plus,Thanos snaps at the beginnings of the comics, not at the end.

I guess you can say he went Doctor Boom.
At the beginning you could've said "as easy as the snap of a finger"
The Ultimates and Illuminati were pretty hated in terms of character. Kind of shows not to write badly in favor of being dark.
.... yeah when infinitie earths happen why couldnt they move the earth by enough not two get caught in the gravity well, between the ilummaniti it shouldnt have been impossible
mdb45424 at least in Infinity War, the conclusion of no choice to change the outcome was thought out, with Loki sealing his fate for the Tesseract, Knowhere was all a trap, Strange breaking his vow for the Time Stone AND using it to reverse any reprecussions of sacrifice, Gamora was a dead woman walking, etc. etc.
At least we got Planet Hulk
mdb45424 that's what they tried the first time with the infinity gauntlet, but they couldn't do it a second time because the attempt caused the infinity gauntlet's gems(except for one which disappeared) to shatter.
Avengers Disassembled?

The one time I’m glad a thumbnail is clickbait.
Marvel comic is just like a game with a crazy mod
The Ultimates was a bad comic. Yeah it was dark but it was also insulting to some of the characters.
Ultimates vol.1 and 2 are fun ElseWorld stories..... bleh beyond that
The only character not ruined by the Ultimate universe was Spider-Man
The Flash 2024 and they killed him, in order to have literally a poor man version of the character: Miles Morales.
Ultimates 3 and Ultimatum are shit.
The Punisher yelling "PUNISH ME!!!" could be taken out of context in many different ways
Punish me, Nick Fury-San!!! I want your magic cream, master!!!!
