- Episode 105 - S61 Submarine Museum, Port of Torrevieja. Costa Blanca Between the Lakes with Mike and Yvonne.
We visited the Port of Torrevieja to see the Museo Flotantes which exhibits the ex-patrol vessel The Albatross lll, The S61 Submarine Delfin and plenty of exhibits on the quayside such as old mine, deck guns, radar masts and a torpedo amongst other things.
The museum is only 2€ entrance fee and is a great way to spend half a day. You can take still images but you are not allowed to take video inside.
The submarine was in active service from 1973 until 2003 and then in 2004 was given to Torrevieja Council to use as a museum. The Albatross lll was also given to the council in 2006 to join the other exhibits. We had a great time and seeing the way the sailors lived on board was very interesting.
We also called in to see Andy and Rita at The Supermercardo International Marina to see how the flags were doing and also for a sausage roll, some Branston pickle and a drink.

Hi Andy, yes, you are not the first to spot the Zimbabwean flag. I had no idea.
As for the permission to film, we just went with the stills inside, don't think it had too much of a detrimental effect on the outcome and it saved us waiting for permission.
