Hi Alison, we are not experts in this, but you would need to have an NIE number, which is your Spanish Tax number. You would need this to buy a house in Spain, and I would suggest that you need a solicitor to make sure everything was ok with the property, no outstanding debts on it etc. Debts stay with the property and not the owner so it must be checked or there could be some nasty surprises. for example Non resident tax could be outstanding if the previous owner never paid any. He or she may not have been aware of it, it does happen. I would suggest use professionals....All the best, Mike and Yvonne.

The house we eventually bought, after many trips out over a few months, we knew, was the one for us. The whole experience was a good one with no problems and we had information every step of the way from Casas Espania and their recommended solicitor. Hi Steven, thanks for watching. We always recommend you do what we did: come over and see all the different areas for yourself. Everyone is different and has a different take on things so what we might like, you might not. Having said that, we are delighted where we are as it has everything we need and also Torrevieja is a very much, "up and coming area" with the new harbour project, new park in La Siesta, new bus station soon and a massive new development in La Hoya. We have supermarkets nearby and plenty of bars, restaurants and entertainment. The areas we like are all around the CV905 road coming out of Torrevieja towards Ciudad Quesada. These include Jardin Del Mar, Altos del Limonar, La Siesta, El Chaparral, San Luis and Limonar. The new development at La Hoya will be one to keep an eye on but not ready for a while yet. The places you mentioned are all great places so it's difficult to pick out what would be best for you. I would recommend you get in touch with Helen, Andy or Gareth at Casas Espania to get a feel for what's available in those areas I've talked about and they will set up some properties for you to look at, I'm sure. Hi, Our bikes are 250watt so Okay, I think. We bought them from a large department store, Decathalon, so I think they would stay on the legal side of things. We have never been stopped by police or anyone regarding the size of the motors. Weve been riding them now for seven years with no problems.
