What is the red piece you use every so often? I've never seen that.

Hi! It’s called a hump jumper. It helps to level the presser foot when sewing over thick/bulky seams. It also helps to prevent skipped stitches and breaking needles when sewing through those thick seams (tho it doesn’t completely prevent breaking needles lol) it’s very helpful 😁
