  • On the 6th June 1944, the Normandy Landings began and this is remembered in History as D-Day. This was a huge turning point in the Second World War, and there was chaos as the Allied soldiers landed on 5 beaches. But in the intense fighting there were many executions carried out upon prisoners of war, and German soldiers who were ruthlessly shot by members of the Allied armies. This is a forgotten part of D-Day, and there were many reasons why they did not take prisoners.
