Not needed. Push down on the disconnector/trigger so the holes line up and get the pin in. Hammer the same but has more spring tension and push it against a table to get the pin past the internal spring.
Thank you for this video, well done. One point confuses me regarding installation of the trigger pin: you say “you use the smooth side, not (?) the grooved side, goes in first”. Which is it, the smooth side or the grooved side that should be inserted first? The camera view of that pin is very brief and difficult to determine the detail. Thank you very much.
There is a groove in the middle, there is also a groove on one side of the trigger pin-that is the groved side. The other side is the smooth side (un-grooved). This picture should help: www.canva.com/design/DAFqowX3jC8/5RRnul00LKMiWibSZjH1xw/view?DAFqowX3jC8&
It won't hit it when the Bolt Carrier Group is installed, it will hit the firing pin. Don't dry fire your trigger without the BCG installed, it could damage the lower and/or the bolt catch release.
That was perfect my friend much better than the Midway video or any of the other ones thank you for showing me exactly how the hammer spring has to be oriented "as you put it into the frame"
You know my man you're the first to explain The big side and little side of the disconnector Spring I thought my shit was out of speck and getting ready to go back to it To the gun store for a new one. Thank you for that!!
How about if the selector switch isn't installed yet? I'm working on my first build and can't seem to get the hammer pin all the way through. I used my 5/32" punch as an alignment tool, I can get it all the way through, but when I put the pin in, the punch comes completely out and leaves the pin just barely lacking going completely through. It appears that it is a touch out of line of going on through and I try moving the hammer, but it's stiff as a ram's horn! Then I push my punch through, pushing the pin completely out and start all over again, with the same result. I only lost one pivot pin detent installing it! LOL! I used a 1/4" X 2" clevis pin from Home Depot. It only took 134 tries to get it! LOL! Any tips on the hammer pin will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
hello, I need the dimensions of ar-15 fire control group springs, their lengths and diameters can be like technical drawing or 3 d. If you can help me, I would really appreciate it.
Thanks for your request, the way it's worded seems a little sketchy. I do have a FFL07 and am audited by the ATF. I comply and do everything by the book. My best advice is to obtain your own FFL and purchase the appropriate schematics.
So I think it's easiest to install the safety selector after you place the trigger and before you install the trigger pin. I did NOT do this in the video.
Excellent vid - looking forward to more. Question - I 'assembled' a 7.62x39 on a AR platform. I get light primer strikes; tried a heavy duty firing pin with little change. So, I got a mil spec trigger kit and the armorer at my range said the bend the hammer spring a little to get more of a strike on the hammer. I have no problem possibly ruining a hammer spring, but also don't want to create any issues. Have you heard of this?
The only time I've experienced light hammer strikes, the spring was installed backwards. After I fixed the spring for my customer, it fired flawlessly. I would try a "AR-15/M16 EXTRA-POWER HAMMER SPRING" from brownells before bending the spring. The only issue I would have bending the spring is not knowing how much you are controlling the force of the spring - may lead to cycling problems with the BCG. The other thing I would check is your ammo. Make sure the primers are good quality. Please let me know what ends up being your solution!
@@SentinelArms I got it like 5 minutes after whining on here, but thanks so much for reaching out. I just really had to fandangle it with some finesse. I was sweating though. I guess my lowerkit just didn't like my stripped lower.
Thanks for your feedback @richard9390. Is there any specific part of the install you are having difficulty with? I'll gladly make a slower video and explain more correctly.
Those alignment pins are a must, it seems.
They make it a lot easier!
Not needed. Push down on the disconnector/trigger so the holes line up and get the pin in. Hammer the same but has more spring tension and push it against a table to get the pin past the internal spring.
I’ve watched 4 videos trying to figure out how to get the hammer in there and this is the first one that has mad sense. Absolute CHAD.
Glad it was helpful!
Post a pic of your build!!!
the slave pin idea SAVED me, really appreciate the video, excellent material!
The SLAVE PIN is money in the bank! It makes that install so much easier.
Glad we could help Justin!
Great Video man
Thank you!
We need more !
Any specifics? I'll gladly make one custom per your request.

If your hammer head hits the bolt catch release, what does this indicate and how do I go about fixing it?
It won't hit it when the Bolt Carrier Group is installed, it will hit the firing pin. Don't dry fire your trigger without the BCG installed, it could damage the lower and/or the bolt catch release.

Little experienced tips are legendary
For anyone struggling to get the hammer installed with the pin. Move the selector to the fire position and its cake from there.
Great tip!

Needed to see the orientation of the last part after the install.
This has helped me on 2 diff occasions. Thank you
What happens if you flip the disconnector spring and have the small part go down first?
I don't know from experience, but it's possible the spring won't stay in place.
Safety switch can go in afterwards?
So I think it's easiest to install the safety selector after you place the trigger and before you install the trigger pin. I did NOT do this in the video.
Thanks! Tip - If you already installed the fire selector switch, make sure it’s on semi when installing these parts.
Great tip!
How come?
Just figured it out I think - the hammer needs more room for install than the safe selection position allows... ???
@@dougsnavely847 yes, that held me up for a few minutes.
If you decide to reshoot this vidoe the hammer spring assembly was very badly out of frame.
I know, I was watching the hammer instead of the screen. Rookie mistake!
Thank you this is the best video on this
Thank you @willyswagon57 please let me know if there are any other video's you'd like to see.
It worked well for me thanks she's all built
finally a video that shows the hammer and didn't just skip that part!!!
The hammer is an important part too!
“Let me show you how to do this”
then puts whole body in front of camera.😂
I know. I need to get a second person in the shop just to run the camera for me
@@SentinelArms, I sound like such an ass after reading it again. Hopefully you didn’t take it that way.
Epic video. This helped me 100% of the way through. By the way, I used a spare trigger guard roll pin as a slave pin for the trigger 👊 thanks brother
I agree 100%
Dude, keep making videos. You cut to the chase, got a good mic/voice, and I would watch everything you make. Just subbed.
Will do! Anything specific you'd like to see?

Thank ya, sir. It's been a while
