Thanks for posting this, I lived in Sweden for 20 years, only in Gothenburg, but I have been teaching 4 kids here in the USA to speak , read and write Swedish, for the past couple of years, and they have now moved to Umeå , so it is nice to see the enviroment they are living in.
nahhh bro this looks fantastic! this is the only part of winter that i enjoy and i forgot it thanks for reminding me there is still a bit joy in winter!!!!
As someone who lives in Umeå, I can assure you it's not this clean everywhere. Although Umeå is one of the few cleaner places in Sweden out of the larger cities. Move even 1km further away from the core of the city and there is trash everywhere, people do not care about the environment here, and throw beer bottles and trash everywhere.
Nice to see a video of Umeå. I went through the city late 40s and 59s on my way to see my foster parents in Otterwattne, near Bjurholm I was a war child.
@brunocontents when Russians attached Finland Nov 30, 1939 abou 80000 of us kids were sent to Sweden, Norway etc. Mostly to Sweden. I was sent to Otterwattne during winter war and the continuation war. After the visited my foster parent several times last visit summer 1974. Only my fostermom was alive then. My foster parent names were Hanna and Gideon Lindgren. By 74 I had forgotten Swedish so On this visit were my Canadian born wife Barbara, my brother Osmo and me. My brother is fluent in Finnish, Swedish and English. We stayed for a week and had a great time. My foster parents are on my mind most days.
I'm a sucker for ambience. Sometimes I'm driving through my country and just find a town or a part of town that has the perfect ambience. I actually got into a swedish band called Refused and it triggered this new curiosity about Sweden...which I've thought of visiting since I was a kid but never managed to. I wonder if I could live there. I've travelled quite a bit around Europe but never that up north. Seems a bit too neat for me, at least that part of town. I need me some architecural variety, but I'm still curious, How big of a city is Umew compared to others in Sweden? Stockolm and Gothernburg are the biggest if I'm not mistaken, but that far up north, would Umea be on the larger side? Thanks :) (sorry for the essay)
I grew up south of gothenburg and then moved down to malmö for studies and lived here for 8 years or so now. I remember feeling pretty safe back then in gothenburg but man malmö is pretty shit. Ofc there is a bunch of great people and companies but theres too much shootings and violence in general in malmö. Kinda wanna move to umeå now looks so safe and chill.

Umeå is like a town nothing like Stockholm or Gothenburg at all maybe the building but umeå has no subways or super traffic
@@Baaa1037 Thanks. I thought it was one of the bigger ones in the north though, no?
@@jeanlundi2141 it’s rlly small idk where ur from but u will probably become depressed and very anti social
