And she said that she could go out at the early hours in the morning and return home safe and sound without worry, and she said that there's little to no round abouts there and barely any crimes committed.

I think it would be amazing if someone did a movie about his life because to me, it seems like he was full of wisdom beyond normal comprehension. I remember growing up and every year we'd travel to rez to see our heroes all up on a float during the fair. Larger than life and, despite their gray hair and tired bodies, they maintained that famous Navajo sense of humor and always smiled when meeting us kids. Now... there's so few left. It truly hurts to know that my kids (when I get around to having some) will probably never get to meet them or any WW2 veteran in person...
Damn. I took care of a woman that was 103. She couldn’t walk on her own and she had dementia really bad. That is a blessing to live that long and still be able to walk and talk normal🦋🦋🦋May he rest in peace 💜

The 926 phone numbers in town were the places 90% of blacks owned properties. If you were a black in NW Austin where I lived as a kid in the 1970’s, And as far as I know, he never had air conditioning installed in his home, not even window units. He lived every summer day and night until powers that be had it installed and he suffered pneumonia after remodeling of his home at 110-111. He was used to natural air before then.

Totally right about that, worked for 50 cents a day. Below poverty level today for sure. But he didn’t go hungry as far as I know. His generation was tough! They made the most out of what little they had. And as a black man that didn’t complain and worked hard, he had to take it in stride even more. They didn’t have equal rights back then and in the back of the line. He lived in east Austin because that’s the only place blacks could own properties back then.

And as far as I know, he never had air conditioning installed in his home, not even window units. He lived every summer day and night until powers that be had it installed and he suffered pneumonia after remodeling of his home at 110-111. He was used to natural air before then.

today for sure. But he didn’t go hungry as far as I know. His generation was tough! They made the most out of what little they had. And as a black man that didn’t complain and worked hard, he had to take it in stride even more. They didn’t have equal rights back then and in the back of the line. He lived in east Austin because that’s the only place blacks could own properties back then.
