To climb in this game you use the left and tight trigger buttons to control the grip of each hand. Also, the rope is a lot of fun when you use it to swing over to out of reach areas. :) *Spoiler* Also, apparently the little blue creature in your backpack (seen at the end) is made of water, so I'm guessing it'll maybe help you bring water back to the world somehow.
These lines seem to be passed down genetically like the knowledge of neat making in birda or through some hive mind, because my father had no internet, grew up behind the iron curtain with barely any access to foreign media and he still used those arguments.
Bro like, you know how at the coastal shelf the ocean floor just falls, and like it's deeper than mt Everest, Imagine if somehow the ocean drained away and you were just left with really eerie mountain cliffs like these
With the boats stuck to the mountain and the seemingly inexplicable seagull population, that might actually be the case in this game. Maybe there was an ocean, but it went away, exposing this strange rock formation.
My whole life i always pictured what a theoretical Ice Climber reboot would look like and it always looked something like this. Can't wait to try it out.
I love the mechanics of this game, honestly. Having your own built-in checkpoints during climbing sections, and having to be aware of handholds without being entirely locked into manual limb movement? friggin' fantastic.
In the Easter Island, a long time ago, the different tribes would send one man every year to compete for the title of Tangata Manu (the Bird Man), who would, for one year, be the chief of the entire island. The competition consisted on swimming to a small island off the coast of Rapa Nui (The name of Easter Island by the natives), collect the first egg that was laid by the tern bird that lived there, swim back to Rapa Nui and climb a cliff to the top while still having the egg intact. For some reason this game reminded me of that.
There's also a few other climbing games I know: Celeste, an excellent climbing platformer game. Insurmountable: A Strategy Rogue-Lite about climbing mount everest Getting Over It: A frustrating game about climbing a moutain of more or less random objects without the help of your legs Only up: A game about climbing environments of stuffs for about 5-6 hours long with only your legs, arms and a slow-mo
There’s no feeling more intense than starting over. If you’ve deleted your homework the day before it was due, as I have. Or if you left your wallet at home and you have to go back, after spending an hour in the commute. If you won some money at the casino and then put all your winnings on red, and it came up black. If you won an argument with a friend and then later discovered they just returned to their original view. Starting over is harder than starting up. If you’re not ready for that, like if you’ve already had a bad day, then what you’re about to go through might be too much. Feel free to go away and come back. I’ll be here.
The worst thing about these games and verticality in games generally is having to sus out which element is decorative vs functional. Either it's a big emersion breaking highway on the wall or it's a secret ladder you had to look up on wiki. The best solution is an engine that gives you tools to deal with all possible surfaces. Tenchu is my go-to mental example. That hookshot would stick to everything. I liked soul reaver also, where eventually you could basically just grab any surface and climb it.
Character looks a little like Beatrix and Lana from both Slime Rancher and Planet of Lana. Gameplay-wise the mechanics are creative, the game pushes you to perform risky maneuvers but not too over the top. Environment looks grandeur but a little barren. Cinematic shots were pretty good too.
Music is top notch especially at the ending. Played through the entire demo and love the look of this game. I just don't know how entertaining or fun it will be to play for more than 20 min at a time. It seems very tedious and just linear to get to the top
Its a bit of a shame the high cliffs in the game don't give me as much vertigo as they would IRL. The obvious reactive answer would be to put it into VR, but that would force it into First Person, ruin a lot of the charm that this game has, and limit the audience to only those with VR. Maybe if the camera were closer and looking more downwards during the climbing parts it'd give the claustrophobic feeling while also showing you're impending doom, maybe also have it so some grips aren't visible unless you use another button to look up.
Absoloutely stunning game in terms of pacing, engagement and gorgeous visuals, though I think I would be too afraid of falling and killing the blue pet (even once) to play it.
the game is nice, but the overall technical status is questinable (optimization is bad considering graphics and mouse control is awful). I like the idea tho, plus each arm control was introduced in Grow Up/Home by Ubisoft, but never developed to the level like in Jusant.
So annoying to watch. I'd love to know what the game designers think the rope is for when you climb. Maybe do like, I dunno, five minutes of research into how lead climbing works, because this is just embarrassing.

I'm so proud of this kid. He's gonna grow up to tell his kids that this is the trip he made every day to get to school...
Wait, did every parent made those trips ?

Post-apocalyptic Cliff climbing game.

Oh! So that's what those cliffs were! I was like no way the environment looked way too barren and empty for it to be mountains and ridges.
This comment makes me want to hit a bong
I think I would be more concerned with all the water being gone then cool cliffs
My whole life i always pictured what a theoretical Ice Climber reboot would look like and it always looked something like this.

It's got massive potential, such a beautiful game
The same feelings of wonder and awe of wide open and beautiful scenery are the same I get from playing ICO

man I hope this game is longer then 6 hours the demo was so good

oh cool! thank you for sharing this!
That's an epic story
Kids can learn more from random RUclips comments these days than from school... cultural advancement at it's finest!
The boat, the seashell horn, the water droplet murals, and the fishing nets...yeah, the ocean definitely drained away / the coast got thrusted up.
That kid has impressive strength and stamina.
Frfr. It would take me 16 hours to do what they did in 16 minutes.
A real cliffhanger
Exploration is my favorite part in video games.
Yeah i love how the mechanics feel such an interesting game can't wait.
Looks impressive! I'm curious if the climbing system feels as good as it looks.
damn, as an amateur climber, I've been waiting for a video game about climbing.
Now they diliver this to us, and it is so amazing
There's also a few other climbing games I know: Celeste, an excellent climbing platformer game.
Insurmountable: A Strategy Rogue-Lite about climbing mount everest
Getting Over It: A frustrating game about climbing a moutain of more or less random objects without the help of your legs
Only up: A game about climbing environments of stuffs for about 5-6 hours long with only your legs, arms and a slow-mo
I like how the game gives you plenty of areas to explore, as well as different means of climbing up.
This is such a cute and lovely game, very well made and the audio is what I like most

This is a more in-depth climbing/platforming system than in Sable, a game this one reminds me of due to the chill vibes and vertical traversal.

That ending score is 🔥

I would die for that baby slug
This is such a pretty game, wow!
The graphics remind me of Dreams on PS4. It looks really cool!
graphic looks really good

This tower is filled with all the victims of @Alpha Beta Gamer 's reckless video game driving (or rather steering)
Wow, the new ALT-F4 game looks spectacular.
This game looks so beautiful! 🧗♂️
Looks great I'll play this for sure.
This game gives me some strong Ico and Shadow Of The Colossus vibes...

Nice cartoony climbing game, maybe you could also feature the more realistic simulator New Heights? I heard the beta is coming out very soon

Does anyone remember the film 127 Hours? For some reason, that was the first thing that popped into my head watching this.
No. What's it about?
@@svperuzer the story of the guy who got his arm stuck between to rocks in the mountain and had to cut it off and survived. It’s a true story
@@unethicallyvoid2888 damn that's hardcore. Imagine a game based on that and you have to cut off your arm.

Too scary for climbing Mountains
Looks like recent Legend of Zelda games
Hard sci-fi child of Celeste and PoP:SoT 😁
ngl, when i first saw the title drop I thought it was called dusant. only because of this video i realise its called jusant lmao
The sequel will be called Jusant your life ;)
what a beautifull game
this game horror???
dose it looks like horror?
High place isn't my favourite part of games, sadly... I have acrophobia reality/games my hands turn cold
The game looks very cool, and so does the gameplay… but goddamn… girl is literally 😐
I like it, it's better than her quipping every 15 secs tbh.
During gameplay the mc should shut the fuck up
