This might be my favorite vid of yours. Coming from traditional longboards my whole life, I absolutely love riding street wheels on my electric board. Great insight! 💪🏽
Fred excellent video 100 percent agree 👍 coming from longboarding background. Loaded wheels are great. You have stoked that passion to go back and practice on a regular board urethane is 👑 king.
I just did a ride with my new 165mm Meepo Cyclones today and it’s almost like cheating. They make it so easy that they take some of the thrill out of it. Street wheels may become my go-to for solo rides
ok I will try again. I just find that the streets in a lot of areas around me are so terrible, it's just too hellish to ride street wheels. Constant chattering is just too stressful. I'll give it another shot though...
I had big AT wheel envy back when I rode a hub board but then I went on a Florida vacation and rode the silkiest asphalt I have ever seen. Now that I have a 2 in 1 board, If I went back to Florida, I would leave the AT wheels at home and just bring a few sets of street wheels.
This is basically how to street skate 101, this is how I got around my city when I was a teenager on a regular skateboard. Push as fast as I could to the next bus stop. Ollie up/drop down stairs and never stop. Skate or die 🤙
I've been getting kind of crazy on my longboard lately and am trying to decide which electric board to get. I would like to get a 2 in 1 but I think I would ride the street wheels most of the time unless im at the Moto X track. Street wheels are one of those eye candy things that givesme an urge to collect as many different ones as I can get my hands on. It's fun to change the look and mix them up.
yep yep! 2 in 1 boards also have more power than a regular street board like a exway flex or a backfire zealot. also, u MIGHT winde up loving all terrain tires. so its good to be able to have the option. i truly love them both. also, 2 in 1 boards can have a larger wheel diameter without wheel bite. most street boards can get wheel bite with bigger wheels. use my discount code when u make a purchase!
Thanks for sharing your thoughts! It really got me thinking about the wheels, and now I'm pretty sure I don't want to buy 120 cloudwheels as wanted before. Had 105 clowds, they seemed pretty heavy, but handled the bad roads well, now I'm thinking about a medium-sized board with street wheels.
For me street wheels feel like I'm a part of the board or the board is an extension of me. AT wheels and cloud wheels the board feels dead or numb. Its hard to explain but that's the best way I can describe it. It is more comfortable but just doesn't feel right. Maybe because I'm coming from learning on a non powered longboard. Better range and more acceleration is a bonus too considering I'm a heavy rider.
do you also live in a place where all roads are super smooth like the ones in the video ? cause once your going over cracks and footpath gaps for 30-40 minutes, you start hating how much street wheels are a part of your feet
@@umarrauf9331 I ride a mix of things. Cracks and footpath gaps don't bother me. Super rough asphalt on the other hand does suck on street wheels. There are several stretches in my area that feel like they put tar over coarse gravel and that is murder on street wheels. I have a backfire hammer sledge 4wd and I want to put street wheels on it. What kind of pulleys and belts should I be looking at? I have the dad bod‘s by orangutan 105 mm.
I dont own a hammer. But i do know u need larger belts than normal with that board. Also the pullies I believe are proprietary so i think u gotta stocky with the kegal pullies that they use

1. Smaller pully small wheel equals more speed
2. Smaller pully big wheel equals more speed
1 or 2 for more speed
1 - balanced. 2 - focus on max speed, less torque
