DC's pantheon of heroes features some of the biggest names the genre has to offer: Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, The Flash, Green Lantern... and then there's everyone else. That being said, some of these unsung heroes may be overshadowed, but that doesn't mean they aren't interesting or capable. Here are some lesser known characters that are just as awesome as their mainstream counterparts.

The Fez Dragon when need a movie where riddler has kidnapped Batman and the question takes him down.
Justice League Unlimited showcased most of these characters and the guest stars that voiced the characters embodied their roles perfectly.
Yup but most dont have the recognition in the mainstream audience like DCTV
I like Question he's cool and loved how the voice actor who played him played Ratchet in Transformers Prime.
That's Jeffrey Combs who also voice Scarecrow in The New Batman Adventures (1998-1999). He also voiced Braniac in Injustice 2 and also was in the 4400, Star Trek Deep Space Nine, Gotham and played a mob boss in The Flash TV series of the 90's starring John Wesley Shipp.
Still Jeffery Combs playing Ratchet on Transformers Prime was awesome and funny, especially when he says "I Needed That"! or when he was talking funny in Operation Bumblebee .
He kind of reminded me of Doctor McCoy.
What about Martian Manhunter? Considering DC doesn't use him for anything nowadays.

He is on the supergirl tv show, and I'm pretty sure he a leader of his own justice league team, (not sure if that the case anymore), and he's also set to appear in young justice season 3
He's apart of the Pre52 Core 7 Justice League so he's well recognized

I wouldn't say he's underrated, he had his own show and was even a key character in young justice season 2, and is set to appear in young young season 3, compared to the other heroes on this list, he's not nearly as underrated as they are. I'm honestly surprised he made the list

Just bought the Justice League Unlimited Blu-Ray and I still can’t believe how good of a show that was. It really highlights the span of the Justice League and even has a few tear-jerkers!

Aron The Terminator I personally enjoyed the Justice League movie! It was dumb, sure, but to me it was dumb fun. Just felt like a cartoon episode but with some live action!
Should really start off with the original JL cartoon and then JLU. You'll see the big difference.
I actually liked Hawk Girl when I used to watch the Justice League and the Unlimited sequel when she was one of the original first seven members of team

The creeper. Hes the "good"version of joker and can takr looney tunes level pf punishment.
As a Creeper fan, that statement is not 100% false but not 100% true either. It only scratches the surface of how interesting Creeper can be. It's a good descriptor for the character if you are trying to get someone to check him out. "Hey do you like Joker? Well what if I told you that there was a superhero who was basically just like him, but good?" It's calling Captain Marvel (yes that's his name the Wizard is named Shazam, but that's another debate for another time) a magical Superman. It's a statement that is not 100% true or false and is best used when trying to compare the characters and introduce people to them
Who the hell mentioned creeper?
Always been a big fan of The Creeper. I tell folks he's kind of like the Joker with a little Captain America thrown in, (the origin) and a dash of Spidey's wit. Would love to see him pop up it the Arrowverse.

Where's John Constantine? He only had a great failed tv show and an unfaithful movie adaptation in comparison to swamp thing that for some reason gained a spike in popularity in the last 5 years that granted him a spot on the Injustice 2 game.

Paralyzed Horse He is also been a guest star on both Arrow and He’s currently in DC’s Legends of Tomorrow. There’s even talk of him joining the Legends for a while and becoming a regular but that’s not been confirmed yet. He also has his own monthly title again.
Paralyzed Horse Constantine had the entire Hellblazer comic back in the day,people know him from that and justice league dark and he's getting an animated series soon

What I really like about The Question is how he reflect creator Steve Ditko’s Objectivist philosophy
He's the closest thing DC has to Rohrschach too and fits the Creepy detective bill perfectly.

Dennis Farina's Ted Grant in Justice League Unlimited was amazing. Allison Mack's Powergirl in Public Enemies was integral. Ohed Fehr's Doctor Fate in Justice League and Justice League Unlimited was a great addition.

I am impressed by the amazing cast Bruce Timm, Andrea Romano have gotten for the DCAU. They cared about the quality of storytelling and getting the right actors for the characters.
Raghu Seetharaman Something also reflected in the quality of animation and the writing as well. Superman The Animated Series is my second favorite interpretation of the Big Blue Boy Scout after Smallville because of all this.
+Jonathan Haney +Raghu Seetharaman I am often impressed that Andrea Romano not only booked top-level actors, but matched the voices to the characters so well. Kevin Conroy, Mark Hamill, Oded Fehr, Jeffrey Combs, and Michael Rosenbaum were perfect matches for Batman, Joker, Doctor Fate, The Question, and Wally West/Flash. Not to mention Dennis Farina, Robert Picardo, CCH Pounder, and... well, almost everyone you mentioned above. I welcomed the return of Rene Auberjonois who did voices in the 1970s and 80s for the Superfriends.
Also worth noting, is that Romano did her best to have all actors present for recording an episode, as opposed to splicing together recordings of individual actors from separate sessions. That way, it sounded like normal conversation, making the story that much more enjoyable.
Before watching, imma have to go with The Main Man Lobo.

He is not underrated. He has crossovers with such superheroes as Judge Dredd, Mask, Authority, Wolverine and Avengers. He even became Stan lee's favorite DC character

Seriously Plastic-Man is so underrated that you even forgot to put him on a list of underrated superheroes! He’s awesome, he’s a very early hero, who is a goofball and has very creative powers. He’s backstory is awesome, starting out as a Henchman. Plus it’s been stated by Batman that Plastic-Man is invulnerable and the 3rd most powerful person on the planet only behind Superman and Martian Manhunter.

He was way earlier than Mr Fantastic, so Mr Fantastic is Marvels Plastic Man but a nerd.
And yeah He was also thought to be a possible counter to Superman by Batman.
Not to mention Plastic Man is indestructible and has unlimited amount of shapeshift-like abilities

One of the reasons I loved the Justice League Unlimited cartoon series was how it gave a good portion of the characters on this list pretty interesting story lines, especially The Question.
Fantastic list. Thank you! This list mirrors my personal favorite DC characters of all time. I try to hype these to anyone who will listen. These characters didn't have the normal clichés other mainline DC characters had and so, they are generally more interesting with lots of depth with unique and amazing stories.

Batman is the most over rated, overhyped "super" out there.
He's more concerned that his favorite psychopath terrorist (love interest?) is arrested with minimal bruising than in justice for his tens (hundreds?) of thousands of victims.

Johnathon Haney Yeah I was so happy when the first thing I saw was the Spectre, he's one of my favourite DC characters of all time.
Static is definitely one of my favorite superheroes. I wish he got more attention! As a kid, I was so upset they cancelled the animated series! And I heard it was for a stupid reason too! I am glad they are making an official movie, but I am honestly so bummed they chose Jaden Smith for the role. Honestly, I would have much preferred someone else for the role of Virgil. Or at least an unknown actor. Ugh, they better do it right!

Static Shock needs a movie. Not just that he faces having strange powers he himself doesn’t completely understand and has to fight against insanely strong villains, but static has to also face the struggles of being black and living an urban inner city community. It could hit a lot of points movies like Mence to Society or Get Out got but also do it through the fantastical view of being a superhero

This video had some great picks ie Swamp Thing, Static and Wildcat. I have to ask though, where's the Phantom Stranger? Being a powerful hero himself with mystical powers, I was sure he'd make the list. Other members of Justice League Dark should have made the list too.

One of my good & dearest friends is a cosplayer who goes by AZ Powergirl. And I've seen a lot of people cosplaying as most of these characters. And I've met the voice of Static who wished me "Happy Birthday" in that voice.
I was expecting Aquaman to be featured on the #1 spot, but I actually found Swamp Thing to be such a cool character ever since I was a kid. :D

Great list... as a LONG time comic reader, very familiar with them all. Personal favorites, Wildcat and the Question. Wildcat trained Batman, Catwoman, Black Canary, etc... how freakin' cool is that ?! Only thing i would've changed? Zatanna in place of Dr. Fate.. maybe even added Johnny or Jakeem Thunder in honorable mention. Just my opinion...

I can see the resemblance between them in their behavior: both are full of themselves, but have great potential.
I've personally loved most of these characters more than the main characters. Favorites include The Guestion, Doctor Fate, Booster Gold, and John Constantine.
