I don't know anything about birds, but I came here to make a Telescoping pole to DIY my own backdrop stands and this was ALLLLLLLLLLL of the information that I needed. I have to buy the clamps and drill block and drill vice and I will be READY!!! Thanks again for a very slow and precise video with step by step instructions!!!!!
You made my day. It only took me about 5 years to learn this technique but it's a great one.
I came here to learn about drilling conduit for my tomato garden, but I’m an avid birder and this opened up some many possibilities for me! Thank you!! ❤❤
This really made me smile. Now I'm curious about conduit for tomato cages.
Years ago, a fellow ham radio operator gave me an antenna built out of EMT and a 102 Inch cb whip.. i worked the world on that antenna and am building another as it eventually corroded and became unusable after about 8 years outdoors. I am building another to the original specifications that requires 1/2 in conduit to be placed and secured with bolts 18 inches inside 3/4 in conduit. Thank you so much for showing how to drill it!
Very awesome. This really is a neat trick. I only wished I knew about it ten years earlier.
This is a professional video tutorial.
Thank you so much
Excellent video. Thank you.
Learned how to do..easy. thanks. Bluebird houses are my passion.
Excellent. I have made tons using this method. It works so well.
Great useful and clear post. You really have my gears turning on projects I could adapt this to.
It took me years to perfect this. It's so useful.
Thank you very much for this clear, direct, thorough guide. Much appreciated.
Thank you. I'm glad it was clear. That is my aim.
Another super video, Jeff!!! I love how you show us exactly what we need to know for accomplishing the task!! That's a great life hack on cleanup safety too!!! I would've never thought to put a bag over the magnet when picking up the metal shards!! SMART idea!! : )
Thank you. I love the bag trick. I use it all the time. I actually learned it from another RUclips video! It's not my own material. aaaaaa. ;)
That magnet trick is great for safety, thank you! I made a birdhouse pole like this using EMT conduit with a telescoping coupling last year.
So glad to hear it. The magnet trick I learned from another video!
Great job at explaining the project. it gives a clear idea and easy way to develop birds nest as well as bird feeders. you have a very soothing voice. Tanks once again
Thank you so much you made my day. I really like the telescoping poles. No more climbing on ladders. No more endangering yourself. It just works so well.
I want to use EMT pipe to support my shade cloth and this video gave me all the info I needed to drill holes, etc. Very well explained! Thanks!
That's awesome. EMT conduit is so useful for so many things. I wish i had known about the drill guide years ago.
Excellent video Jeff! Great content with very useful "how to" shots. The editing of the video was also excellent, you are doing a fantastic job!
Thank you. You always make me smile.
I would love a tour video. Where you placed your boxes and special considerations to think of. Your videos are pretty great!
That's a great idea. I never even thought of that kind of just walk around and show locations and talk about what birds are in the boxes. Great idea
THANKS JEFF, this helps with a telescoping easel legs projet that I am doing
using copper. and we were having problem trying to get the drill to go straight down.
I'm so glad this helped. I too struggled with centering the holes in the conduit for many years.
Brilliant! Thank you. I’m here also to make a telescoping pole. I really appreciate your video. Thank you
I'm very glad. I so love this system. I love interchanging nesting boxes with ease.
Your a genius you clearly advised everything you did God Bless
Thank you. You just made my day. This really is a neat little trick that I learned and I'm glad other people are learning from it.
Good idea! I have also found that 5 inch round duct fits well over a 4x4 post as an effective squirrel barrier.
That's a great Idea I've never thought of. Much cheaper than a 20 or 30 dollar baffle. What length do you use? Bet it works for raccoons too?
Excellent info,as always!
Thank you. Much appreciated.
Thank you for this great video 🙂
This is one of if my favorites
This is very helpful!
Truth be told I wish I had known this when I first started mounting boxes.
Awesome video thanks!

Thank you. Glad to be of help.
I'm actually planning to build a weaving loom, but picked up some advice specific to birdhouses anyway. Thanks!
I want expecting that! Glad to help!
Thanks
No problem

I'll check out your Backyard Birds channel, I Love Birds.
Aloha🌴🏄♂️🕊
Thank you! So good to get feedback.
thanks .
Glad it helped!
Excellent video! Do you know of this approach would wiek for a bat house? I'm also considering this for a bird feeder. have you done this before?
I think it would work for bats. The bat box can't be too big though. I'm going to try it. Thanks for the idea. I think it could work for feeders too.
NICE tips Need to buy a drill guide & a vise Harbor Freight here I come! After drilling holes through galvanized pipe a Quick shot of galvanized paint in the holes will keep them from rusting👍👍💛
Excellent idea. The drill guide is the best to i have. Save's much time and it's so easy to use.
@@BackyardBirdsUS Thanks for sharing 💙
Glad to help
@@BackyardBirdsUS I built 3 small wood feeders last year & bought a large plastic one (made in USA) Amazing how many birds they attracted. My Grandfather had a bird farm out west back in the day.
Sounds like things are working well!
What drill bit did you use for drilling the holes? Hss or carbide ?
i just got a new job and sometimes i get sent out to put uo stop signs and have no brackets and is force to drill into a 2" wide pole to bolt in the stop sign... would the drill guide fit a 2" wide pole? thanks!
I think they make different size guides. Try big box store
Thank you for this video, Jeff! Do you think a 1 inch + 3/4th inch assembly would be sturdy enough at 20 feet for a barred owl nest box? No, right?
I don't think it would. Actually i speak from experience and the weight bent the pole.
Thank you, Jeff! Looks like I may be climbing after all 😂
🤚Jeff Yahoo look at you # of subscribers. Always nice to see you. Nice info my friend. Thanks for sharing have a good night. You know it has been a long while since you visited me hope you can stop by and visit. Take care from Florida 💕
Thanks Momma, I've had too many deadlines and been under the weather. These telescoping pole videos took about 4 days longer to make than I thought they would. But They are good information for do it yourself bird lovers everywhere. I will check out your latest. Thanks.
Backyard Birds so sorry to hear under weather I recently had surgery and complications but finally back and all better. Please take care of yourself. I am so happy For Bart he is really getting out there and doing some good filming I think he is having fun. I enjoy him and Jans life out there.
This video shows a lot of work into this my friend. It is very helpfully truly appreciate it all the things you show us.
Take care💕
Don’t need magnets if you did it out side
I suppose but i wouldn't want those shards.
