If you get a combo that's unbelievably high, (about 50+ i believe) or when you're on the 3rd phase of the final boss, then Peppino will start doing the same dance that Moe from The Simpsons does in Moe's Funk Dancing for Self-Defence!

I think it's a testament to how well Tour de Pizza succeeded in their design goals that EVERY single playthrough I've watched, without fail, they always go "man, speedruns of this game must be insane".
It gets you to ask the question "what's this at It's best"
That was my initial impression too!
I've seen speedruns and now my main desire is to see a TAS of this game, because absolute perfect movement must be unreal to watch

58:33 I think the reason why it was Peppino for a second is because Gustavo is technically considered a "transformation" of Peppino. Or at the very least, when you use debug mode he's lumped in with the other transformations (like Knight, Cheese, etc. Gustavo is called "ratmount") instead of having a "character value" like Pepperman, Vigilante and Noise do.
Probably due to how unique he is compared to the peppino reskin

@@TCM464 Yup, it's easy to access too. All you have to do is add "-debug" (without quotes) to the Steam launch options, then press F5 in game to open the console.
At first I didn't realize the parry button actually parried and thought the game just had a dedicated breakdance button. And it wouldn't have surprised me one bit if that was the case.
I mean, it wouldn't be the first game. There's an airhorn button in Nuclear Throne but *only* if you're playing as YV. With the other characters it does nothing.
That kinda reminds me of how in Luigi's Mansion, there's a dedicated button to make Luigi shout for Mario.
to be fair thats what it used to be in some versions from a couple years back

they were originally 3d modeled with full on animation and movement and played the jumpscare completely straight until they cut it for performance reasons

@@officiallorechannel6902 If the one present in the trailer for scoutdigo is the type they're referring to, I don't think I'd call that "played completely straight", it's using intentionally shitty early FMV models and movement. It looks like CarnEvil, not a real jumpscare. Just search the scoutdigo trailer, 33 seconds in, it's the one for the hotdog butcher.

I started playing the game myself a little while back and got to the “Golf” level, where the top rank on the goals was “Primo Burg”, and it reminded me of something you would say. Immediately after, I went to go see if you actually played the game yet. Lo and behold, there was, and I ended up binging all the stream highlights. Excellent content, dark white fruit man.

Man it's so hard to focus on the actual video when I'm just OOGLING at every frame of animation. I took the time to just pause at random times and see how funny peppino looks at the time
In my own playthrough I also referred to the tower treasures as the "treah-shures" because of that one video compilation of Fred from scooby doo saying treasure in that specific silly way
55:14 speaking of “being a dev by reporting a bug”, I remember I reported a bug I came across on Pig City in one of the secrets where I restarted doing a very specific set of moves and hitting restart at the wrong time, causing the camera to be way off to the side when it goes back to the beginning. After I reported it, the next set of patch notes came in and exactly what I reported was at the bottom of the bug fixes list. I felt so good about that lol

The grease-ball-guy getting hit every frame made enough overlapping sounds that it just filled up everything and the music track just got pushed off the end of the audio buffer, and I guess the music isn't on it's own "channel" or otherwise handled by the game engine in some way to prevent that bug.

It's such a great game in every way, but what amazes me the most is just how universally _funny_ it seems to come off, too. I don't know if I've ever laughed this much in a video game. Sometimes you get puns or silly moments in games that got you snickering for a hot minute, sometimes you get the Hollywood-ass humor in some AAA-game that has you amused (but often times because you know it's "supposed to be funny.") But Pizza Tower? Pizza Tower might be the first game that understands its own medium well enough to create comedy that would not work in any other medium. I love it so much.
Also when the boss of the 4th floor caught me after I got nervous and got stuck, I involuntarily let out a scream that was way too high for my voice and it sounded as unholy as the boss looked and I'm glad nobody was around when it happened
