- Justice Juan Merchan rejected Trump's request to have his gag order limited to allow him to speak publicly about Stormy Daniels, a witness. Merchan also rejected Trump's second bid for a mistrial stating that Trump's team had several opportunities to object to questioning from the prosecution about the sexual encounter between Daniels and Trump.

I think Glenn Kirschner said they are going to use it in closing. That the salacious testimony influenced the case and jury in such a negative way that trump couldn't get a fair trial. They are trying to fail and succeeding.

Hey Harry, I've actually experienced these red hats first hand and the trauma they cause. They drive around the community with those big American flags waving off the back of their cars while shouting USA and it's absolutely terrifying to experience. The request to modify the gag order was so ridiculous. If Trump wants to argue about something Stormy Daniels said during the trial all he has to do is testify on his own behalf and make sure his lawyers ask about it. Of course, that also means that the prosecuting lawyers can ask him about it as well. That's not nearly as fun as spouting nonsense on Truth (sic) Social where no one is able to argue.

I'm grateful Judge Merchan has the backbone to control the trial process and courtroom demeanor regardless of who is at the defense table, prosecution table, or on the stand giving testimony. Not favoring anyone, just keeping it fair, impartial, and proceeding according to NY state trial procedure rules & regs.

Trump’s gag order argument is undercut by the fact his testimony would get significantly more attention than his extrajudicial rants.
They did that on cross-examination deliberately to try to create the conditions for asking for a mistrial. Great that the judge was straight through it.
