- A Trump coming of age biopic about his relationship with his mentor Roy Cohn entiteld 'The Apprentice' may never reach theaters. Despite a glowing reception at Cannes, the film's producers are struggling to find a distributor willing to cross Trump. Meanwhile, one of the film's financiers disgraced NFL owner and Trump ally Dan Snyder is trying to bury the film which he had thought would be a positive portrayal.

I would never describe trump as a 'striking figure' he is grotesque

This really is one of the biggest gifts we've gotten this year. The fact that Dan Snyder had no idea that the movie was going to be a harsh critique while funding it is too good to be true.
He ran his football team with the same level of genius and attention to detail.

👏Absolutely, and I found it interesting that the former NFL team owner is just as deluded as Trump about what constitutes sexual assault and fraud. Both of these narcissistic sociopaths truly believe all women want to be sexually molested by them. Oh right, they think they are so AWESOME that any woman should realize how fortunate she is to get to be used for sex by such studs. I know of many encounters with men like these two jerks. The stories I could tell you, and one of my experiences was sexual harassment by a supervisor. I was too naive to know that I could have filed a complaint against him, just thought I had to put up with it to keep my job. Look at all the beautiful, talented women who thought they had to put up with Harvey Weinstein to get acting jobs. Hope the movie gets out soon.

But for the hair and lip colour Trump seems oddly similar to Frankenstein's creation;

However, Frankenstein's creature was far less monstrous.
I don't think it's quite correct to say the film got a "glowing reception" at Cannes -- of the 12 critics who participate in the Screen Daily Jury Grid, not one gave it a higher rating than 2 stars out of 4, and it had an average rating of 1.7, one of the lowest for films in competition (though the lead actor got a lot of good press). Even if it's probably not a great film, I'm still hoping it gets a release -- thanks for reporting on it!
