I keep pressure on the stick like you show here, but I instead take my foot off the gas before i shift to release drivetrain tension, pull out of gear, match, shift, and GO. Good video man

Martin Mankins mine likes it with just a little pedal. Too much or none and it doesn’t like coming out of gear.

In that truck I had trouble with it not wanting to come out of gear without some throttle

You don't float gears on a synchronized transmission unless you want to chip teeth off of your gears. Semis float gears because they're unsynchronized.

What you just said is literally the opposite of what is true

      Constant mesh, gears never move

Floating gears is pointless with a trans that has syncros. They are designed for that very reason... so you don't have to float them. Syncros don't allow you to "feel" the gears so you never really know where you're at. I 'cut my I teeth" on a 5x4 and learned how to do it after a couple million miles. I try it on my 2012 G56 and it's so hard that it's pointless to even try. The trick is to have the engine completely unloaded when you take it out of gear and the best way to do that is to back out the turbo boost slowly until it slips out of gear then all the way off the throttle as you feel i into the next gear. Floating gears won't seem cool to you if you ever "nick" a syncro making it hard to float, clutch, or even double clutch which is another myth to be broken in another video... LOL JMHO
