This man has taught me more in almost 15 minutes then my lazy instructors have going on three weeks at the Cdl school I'm at. They give us no instruction to what we are dealing with and just throw us to the wolves when we get behind the wheel then get mad if the gears grind or we stall out. I would of went to your school in a heartbeat if I would of known about your school earlier.
Pray4us! Thank you for taking the time to comment. If you'd like to learn double clutching, this video has helped many truck driver students: ruclips.net/video/z6AKaBeRNU8/видео.html. Hope you aren't paying an arm and a leg at that crappy school, brother.
I heard Colorado’s nice anyway! I would go
The same to me bro
I’m seeing a lot of people complain about this its even my complaint I wonder why they don’t teach us knowing we will be alone eventually doing this. I should not have to come to RUclips to learn this outside of the truck.
I learned more from your videos than I ever did in 3 weeks attending garbage Cdl school here in my home town. Thank you so much, I wish I could’ve have attended your school.
What an incredible compliment, Master. Thank you for committing to learning and for watching our videos. Stay safe out there.
I know, I got hired on with my permit at a company around the same time I started "school" so I got a lot of training from work before I started school and man, they dont teach sh#% the instructor was getting all irritated at one guy but the guy never drove in his life, of course hes not gonna know! Joke!
I agree with you freedom soldier: my instructor told us what to do and then sat in a car watching us practice in the pad. Basically, we were trying to teach ourselves.
Come to Australia. The CDL course is two DAYS. That's it.
Showing those slow shifts and gear recoveries is so valuable
Thanks again, brother David!
Another great video by these folks! I could not have been so successful so quickly without their videos!! I now have my CDL and no manual restriction!
Was it hard to learn? I don’t know how to drive stick shift at all 😩 and soon I’m going to have to practice
@@julietagonzalez5833did you pass? Get obsessed with these RUclips videos. Thats how I’m learning even though I’m in school.
@@LataushaTheAuthor yes i passed! Im so happy!! And honestly that’s how i learned watching RUclips videos all day if i could… i learned more than from school… how far are you in school?
Man I can't thank enough this channel for their its videos, its full of information.i enrolled in a locaTrucking school here in town....they were only yelling all the time.....I couldn't do even a straight back....went to RUclips and discovered this channel and after a month I went for my test.....I Passed everything on my first time......the only mistake I did was I forgot to put my seat belt while doing parallel....he just warned me......but I Passed....Thanks again!
Great story, abdikadir! Congratulations on passing and thank you for watching and commenting. Stay safe.
Good luck be safe and patient
this channel is the best for student that are going to school
Thank you, charry! Good luck with your training.
I'm a newb. . my first 2 days of training I was having trouble double clutching in up and down . . but I found that I can easily now clutch out and float into gear. no matter if I am up or downshifting .. Love iT!
Was it a lot easier for you to float I having that double clutch problem too I’m trying to learn to float I have a feeling floating will be a lot easier
I am an experienced driver and I am learning a lot from your videos. I am having problems double clutching after 20 yrs floating gears. You have excellent videos, thank you.
Very helpful to me! Especially the "don't panic" part. Much appreciated
Great video! When I started driving trucks, guys I rode with just told me do whatever feels most comfortable to me. And I always just saw them floating, so I managed to pick it up pretty quick. Managed to get a CDL evaluator at the DMV who didn't seem to care that I floated the whole time. And watching this video helped with some of the finer details that you may not even think about. Like it's easy to panic when you are a newer driver floating, and it doesn't go into the desired gear right away. Thank You!
Hey, Josh. That was a cool story. Thanks for taking the time to share it and for watching our video. Take it easy, brother.
Thank you so much 👏👏👏👏👏👏 this is the way you supposed to teach step by step so Students get a better understanding
It's been over 20 years since I drive a split shift but I'm about to get back into it. This was a good refresher.
This video has been extremely informative. Thank you
Thanks so much. Way easier to learn watching your video than during the pressure on the road with the school ( left nameless) . Well explained too, some of us need the explanation of the mechanics that are taking place as well as the procedure so it all makes sense. I know I'll pass my road test and maneuvers this time. I've seen all your videos and they are outstanding to learn this trade by.
Thank you , Thank you , Thank you.!!!
Enter 'CDL College 10 speed" for double clutching video. Thank you for watching and commenting.
Now I can double clutch for my examiner and if I'm too slow to gear I can just Rev till it slides in, thank you!!
Appreciate all your tutorials. Very clear, informative and helpful. Wishing everyone at CDL College, LLC all the best. Thanks and cheers.
Great video. Still learning to double clutch and will watch it again to try the other two types of shifting.
That gear recovery top really eases my mind, for some reason I thought if u lose a gear ur pretty much screwed, keeping it at the gate then revving to slide in is beautifully put, thank you 🤍🤝🏼
Just got my CDL bye bye double clutch! RPM shifting here we come!
Nice to see there are people willing to share expert knowledge and advice. Thank you, and know that there are people that do appreciate your input and work.
Man your teachings are so clear and easy to understand. Thanks
Best!!! Videos ever. Very formal and easy to understand. Thank you so much for showing a real practice video. If I only could’ve knew your school. Thank you so much. From NJ.
Looks like a pro teaching, I like it very knowledgeable I love it when he says don't panic. 'Cause more likely that is what we do panic and nobody tells how to get out it. Definitely subscribing
CDL College produces videos superior to most others. Good job guys!
Nicely done it all makes shifting a lot smoother very sensible thanks for the video
This is a great video and learned a lot being a student in CDL school right now. Thank you!!
Good demonstration, Thanks 👏🏼
You're welcome, Miss Hannah. Thank you for taking the time to comment and for watching our videos. If you have any questions, we're available.

Thank you, I've struggled with missed gears, you explain it very nice
Thank you very much, Darin! Glad we could assist with your training.
Thanks a million for sharing!
Very informative, I'm going to digest this and practise as much as possible
Thanks, conroy! It's all about the timing and not muscling the shifter.
Great video
This the best shifting gear on RUclips so far! Very helpful thankyou
Excellent tutorial for this struggling shifty newbie.
Thank you for watching, Edward. You should consider watching our other video on shifting. It covers double clutching in depth. ruclips.net/video/z6AKaBeRNU8/видео.html
This is a great angle! Thanks
This is a wonderful teaching on how to shift gears!!!
Awesome explaining.
Great video!
VERY INFORMATIVE. I WAS UNAWARE THAT THESE TECHNIQUES WERE POSSIBLE. THANK YOU!
Michael, great useful explanation of the complete shifting theory. Thanks!

This instructor is good, I watched this video when I was in driving school and 6 years later still watch even though now I can easily drive 10- 13 transmissions.
Thanks Doc!
Excellent video 👍👍👍 Thanks
Great video very helpful
very helpful thanks.
Thanks again, all of your videos are helpful
Thank you for watching, Vanessa. Pretty name.
very good information lots of help awesome videos
Great videos...Thanks brother!!!!
Wow it was awesome how they applied all the techniques at the end, double clutch, hydrib and floating!!! I was always wondering if it was possible to downshift floating gears and thanks to this video now I know!!! Can't wait to apply the hybrid as well!!! I just recently got my CDL license but I was only taught how to double clutch and was told about floating gears but like I said I didn't know you could float gears to downshift and didn't even know about hybrid shifting!!! Awesome video!! This helps a lot for us beginners because I'm sure employers look for this kind of knowledge on potential employees!
That was a great explanation on how to shift good work ...
Thanks, eliseo! Cool name.
Great video very helpful. I really like the explanation about the sweet spot.
Very helpful video..thank you
Wow,Thanks guys.
Awesome video thought me a lot about floating and shifting
Everyone wants to float gears, Bernard, especially in stop-and-go traffic. However, you will also benefit from knowing how to double clutch.
Hybrid shifting is the method I use to introduce some of my (graduated) students to floating. Think of hybrid shifting as a baby step on your way to floating gears. Thank you for watching and commenting, brother.
Cool! Thanks!
This was well presented and very useful. I have gone straight to hybrid and floating my Eaton 10 speed.
Good to hear, Dennis! Thanks for watching and commenting.
thanks this explains a lot been waiting for this video
Glad to upload it in time to help you, Tim. Thank you for watching.
Very helpful. I wasn't taught how to double clutch and shift and this video explained it all. Now to put it to the test in the truck. Thank you.
Glad you found this video, Neil. Let us know how it worked out if you'd like. Peace.
Excellent teaching, I've learned a lot from watching this video.
best video showing how to double clutch
good job
Thanks your videos are very informative. I have learnt more from your videos than from my cdl school.
Thank you so much for your help you really have experience and know how to teach
Good video

This is my 3th week of my truck school this videos help me to much thank u so much . I wish that I can pass my test in DMV this Friday.
Thank you, I appreciate your!😅
Very good job!😂
Very good teacher
By far the best video I have seen on different shifting methods. Thank you so much for making it.
That's a great compliment, Tomasz. Thank you for watching and commenting.
Thank you Sr. You are the best ...🙏🙏🙏🙏
Great video...i only know to double clutch. Thanks man
Thanks for the video. Its very helpful. You really explain a lot. The teacher at my school never explains things. He just grabs our shifter and trys to force it in the gear after we miss our gear. Thanks for explaining the missed gears. I am ready for today thanks to you.
If your instructor owned that truck, he wouldn't do that. Lazy.
If you have any questions, send them to me.
Thank you for watching and commenting, E Hardin.
This channel is so helpful! I’ve been with Swift in an automatic for a few months so I’m rusty on the clutch. About to switch companies so I’m brushing up my skills with this video.
Congratulations on the move away from Swift, David! If you have any questions about shifting, ask us right here on RUclips.
Let me know some things about hybrid shifting please mr David. Thanks.
Very nice video it help me a lot in , learning how to shift from low to high gear using the sweet spot, as my guide.
Good for you, Anita! Eventually, you won't have to use the sweet spot, visually. Soon, you'll be hearing the correct engine RPMs instead of relying on the RPM gauge. Thank you for watching and commenting.
CDL College, LLC I’ve been driving almost two years but sadly was trained in an automatic and been driving an automatic till only a month ago. For 3 days I drove a freightliner 10 speed which was easier to float since it was at higher rpms, but I got a Kw t680 now and it’s been difficult floating from 2-5 because it shifts at around 1100 to 1300 rpms. It’s harder to hear the engine too so I’ve been messing up a lot. How long will it take me you think or did it take you till you were able to listen and not look? Thanks
Shifting through the low range gears can be difficult, especially when you're loaded. Keeping your RPMs low should help. Start in 2nd gear and shift at 800RPMs. In 3rd, shift at 900. 4th, 1000. It's easier to shift at lower RPMs. Raise your RPMs a bit for each subsequent gear. Thanks, vandals145.
Awesome videos.
Thanks for watching and commenting. If you have any other questions, don't hesitate.
u r awesome driver man
Thank you, brother!
LOVE U GUYS🤣 an art form💯
That is my problem, missing gears and recovery is difficult especially when downshifting
Double Clutch 0:27. Hybrid 3:24. Floating 5:50. Fixing missed gears 8:20. Random shifting samples. 9:37.
Great video, this explained a lot of shifting gears. I think you can use the basics of this how to video and a ply it to 13 speeds or 18 speed shifters. Thanks for the guidance.
I just tested yesterday. Your videos helped me so much. I was having so much trouble downshifting for some reason. Now i don't thanks to your videos. Now i know how to float through the gears and hybrid shift. Now its time to land that trucking job and make some money. Thanks for your help
Great comment, David. Congratulations to you and best of luck in the future.

Good teaching videos
Thank you, Eric. Our 10-speed shifting video offers a lot of good information as well. Here's the link: ruclips.net/video/z6AKaBeRNU8/видео.html
I've seen it and love the teaching methods. Double clutching for the cdl test and then all the extra things. Keep on doing what y'all doing. Great works produce great results!!!!
thanks guys
You're welcome, Nelson.
Thanks thanks
I work on a ranch and I was taught how to float shift a similar 10 speed in a straight truck. Double clutching is totally new to me. Also I'm still working on downshifting.
Hi, Andy! This video is good, but you may want to watch our Double Clutching video, too. Check it out here: ruclips.net/video/z6AKaBeRNU8/видео.html . Thank you for watching and commenting.
Andy Miller why if u don't "have two" why I ask u whyyyy?
