This is the playthrough of someone who has beaten this a couple times before and decided "You know what? I need my pets." And brought them along for a joy ride.
I actually used Weaversong to get through this, the last hit on the kingsmould was actually done by a Weaverling, right before it was about to hit me, when I had 1 health left.
@@joshuachung2448 hell yeah I did 😎. I quit on the first part for a bit to finish the rest of the white palace before attempting it again. I eventually came back and spent like 3 hours in one sitting to complete it fully. The thing about it was that I knew the path of pain existed, so I knew what charms to bring (i.e the hiveblood charm). I just didn't know where it was.
@@josephjoestar953 Dashmaster is a fucking suicide though. The last part requires you to pogo + dash. I accidentally downdashed a lot there until I gave up and try the whole thing again without it.
@@kynan1232 It all depends on how experienced you are with platformers. PoP (for all that it took me hours the first time around) is not all *that* bad in hindsight, compared to some of the things the modding community has come up with since, while waiting for Silksong... (shudders)
@@PowerRaccoonKun worst charms to use by far are dashmaster and sharp shadow. The extra length sharp shadow gives and the ability to dash down and kill yourself are absolute trash for this.
@@3DOM_ sharp shadow and dashmaster are not good for path of pain, unless you are doing a speedrun for the world record. But for an average run of it, you are absolutely right

Mine is too, but if you have enough time and patience, you can beat pay of pain, it took me a week’s worth of time to beat it but I just wanted to see the Path of Pain ending for myself. I hope one day you will attempt the start of it (you would have to beat the white palace which is kinda hard so good luck for that too if you haven’t beaten it yet)
@Ok I know everyone has different skill levels, but, I feel like you shouldn’t try to call it easy in any sort, yes there are tutorials, speedruns, etc. but they help you see what’s happening and certain ways you can do it, but, that doesn’t make the platforming any different and hard to execute it. It’s going to take a while for it to be considered easy to most, Also sorry if I came off as rude, I just can’t type well
The path of pain and the trial of the fool are the only non-pantheon related things of the game I haven't been able to complete and honestly the path of pain feels more feasible to me than the trial of fool and it's fucking aerial combat phase. The latter mention should probably give away why those 2 are the only things I haven't completed.
wheni was still a noob i watched some parh of pain videos and it sounds easy and now look where i am now. i was able to do the thing intel that segment where you have to pogo like a million buzzsaw so you have to pogo EVEN MORE buzzsaws without a single check point 1:29. i gave up also having emotional support in a game somehow helps and i honestly apreceate you doing pop without hiveblood or grubsong. absolute legend.
@@itsmeplush I don’t think I have the skill for that.... on my main save and first try it took me about a week’s worth of time, but it was only the beginning and end that took a while the in-betweens weren’t too hard, if I ever do another play through of the game and I get the awokened dream nail I’ll take path of pain into consideration. @@PowerRaccoonKun man I couldn't even so it I kept getting to the final chamber before the kingsmold or whatever they called it's been awhile and I just couldn't get the timeing with the spikes right and kept failing after so long I just gave up
@@Beast_killer. it is definitely hard, but I have the time to spend just trying to beat the Path of Pain, if I were to go back it would probably take my half the time but the whole thing is just frustrating. If you ever get back there and you have free time I suggest you watch a guide, I needed it for the end since I couldn’t figure out how to get through some parts, taking breaks really do help, when I was frustrated I noticed that I did so much worse like not crystal dashing at a good timing to then I would die right after or dashing right into the tips of those three side platforms, it made me even more frustrated so I just went to watch videos on RUclips and when I came back I actually made progress on Path of Pain. And if you do get to the kingsmoulds you should pause the game take a deep breath, and use as many spells as you can, they are one of the toughest enemies in the game to fight, I would recommend getting on top of them and using desolate dive/descending dark, I’m pretty sure it does the most damage possible if you make contact with the enemy. If you ever go back I hope this can help a bit!
I don't know why I always watch path of pain runs when there recomeded to me, it just makes me sad seeing people with disadvantages one shot a room that took me hours
It's negligible bc you would've double jumped anyways. UNLESS.... That wall cling storage gives you both another dash aand double jump, which in this case it'll be huge for speedrunning bc you wont need the last wall to go through the 3 spikes, saves prob 1 second
Good god; the path of pain. I can beat the pantheon of hallownest all day long, but I get completely destroyed by path of pain. The one and only time I managed to it, it took several hours per day over the course of four or five days. The margins for error are just soooooo thin.
in path of pain, glowing womb would be counter effective since it consumes the soul you would use to heal normally, but it's nice to have emotional support from the babies i guess
Hollow Knight is actually quite friendly with spawn points, which made it not really *that* hard. Also, I didn’t get through that secret door in the beginning XD thank you
I haven't played hollow knight in months other than the occasional tromp through the regular areas for no good reason but watching this evoked an intense emotion in me I don't know what the fuck to call it or what to do with it now but man this shit is ingrained holy shit

I never really needed hiveblood for path of pain, I beat it using grubsong and deep focus plus dash and sprint master charms.

@@taederias1804 This was my first platform-type game. So I spent a solid 7 hours on first try, then I gave up. Second try I did it in one hour

I completed the path of pain over a year ago now, but the section at 2:11 is still embedded into my brain deeply.
