wow.. those landings were superb... that's some mad skills right there. Yeah, this airport has to be the scariest, most difficult paved airport in the world (that isn't an aircraft carrier... at least carriers aren't at 9,000', and they've at least got some air density to work with).
In winter1980 I hiked in from Lamasungu about 80 miles away from Lukla. After viewing Everest from Kala Patur I hiked back down to Lukla for the flight back to Kathmandu. The landing area was just a grass field with grazing Yaks.
@@billyclark7079 Liar how? Have you done the full Everest trek from Lamasungu? Were you there in 1980? Did you not know Lukla landing strip was just a grass field back then? What exactly is the lie, Billy?
Are there take offs and landings that aren't crazy at this airport? Also, I like to know who was the first to land at this location. It had to just be a rocky hillside when that happened. And how did they get all of the building materials to this site.
The beautiful Himalayas - the air looks so pure - the mountains majestic. I want to go so 😔 bad. It seems to be one of the last refuges on this planet. Wow the flights in and out angel 😇 wings?
Sorry to be offtopic but does anybody know of a trick to get back into an instagram account? I was stupid lost my login password. I love any tips you can offer me
@Joshua Mohammed i really appreciate your reply. I got to the site thru google and I'm waiting for the hacking stuff atm. Takes quite some time so I will reply here later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
The landings are way trickier, the pilot has to slow the aircraft just enough to make the turn for the taxi, if he stops hard he'll be stranded on the hill, and if he doesn't, he'll be hitting a building
@@elliot20 you don't want to add any weight if you can avoid it, fuel is heavy. Just need the least amount of gas to get you to the next, less dangerous airport. You'll have a better chance of not blowing you're only one chance you have to take off at if you're not loaded to the gills.
I am crazy but not this crazy. Some may not realize how dangerous taking off and landing in this spot of the world is so I can only suggest looking into it. Those of you in the comments that been there, I know are followed around in life by a wheel barrel to keep you know what off the ground and in tow. No thank you. If you lose your pilot rating anywhere in the world and own a plane like these, who will question you or ask to see your papers after touch down and taxi?
You were so anxious to post this video that you didn't even check your typing. As far as I now, "carzy" means nothing in English. What's wrong with you "modern" people? Why the haste?
I travelled in one of these helicopters 8 years ago on my way to Everest view hotel. Amazing trip but risky.
That's cool
Why would you say it's risky

I just knew that, this is the worlds most dangerous airport.
id love to live in lukla for a while
Helicopters around here must be real happy that they don't have to pull that stunt.

Dornier....very cool plane.
Looks like a real tranquil place.
Good video
The twin Otter can land and takeoff in less than 2000 feet. It is an excellent performer.
That slope looks dangerous but I think it's the only reason this all works.
What a traffic jam...

You can land but you can’t ever leave! Lol
