Another RUclipsr landed a jumbo jet at this airport. He came-in very slow & used thrust reversers to stop the plane
These are really good landings for Ryanair standards
Yeah I'm almost a certified Ryanair pilot haha
just got off a ryanair flight lmao. landing gear bounced up it was that hard.
Lol, I get it.

@@AXELVISSERS 😂
God, I’m an airline pilot and hearing the taws calling out ‘200’ before it has even finished saying ‘300’ gets my heart pumping.
It’s basically a countdown to death!
I can relate, this was very incomfortable and ...cringe even
That's also because there is a hill before the runway so the callouts always go pretty fast. (But my landing were still terrible haha)
@@theflightsim2020 yeah you’re right.
I was going to tell you that you’re coming in way too high and steep, but then I saw that your VSI was always less than 1000fpm as you crossed the threshold, which is the VSI criteria for a stable approach.
It was really just the illusion of landing up a ski jump!
You’re doing great.
@@normannutbar424 thanks man!!! I think I could do better now, I had the sim just a few weeks then. And yeah I maybe could go a bit less steep. Btw it's also very difficult keep your speed low while you are climbing on such a high altitude
!!!Hi, there will be a new video soon. I'm gonna try to land all planes at Saba airport!!!
STAY TUNDED👀
Your almost certified Ryan Air pilot! Nice try

The A320 landings were hysterical. The runway is plainly just to short and narrow. On the larger planes the airspeed on approach is way to high for the terrain, plus the AOA you need increases airspeed. Everyone says to keep it at near stall speed for the 747, again the AOA need is too sharp. The A320 landings are almost what you would expect. Fun video. Thanks.
Too*
If it's not the A32nx but the default A320, it partly could explain the bizarre landing because of its weird flight model
What
To be fair, in real life it will brake much faster as the houses on either side of the runway are tearing the wings off your plane... 😅
I love how "the good one" with the 747 meant the Pilot and First Officer and possibly a jump seat pilot all being crushed to death :-)
I get your point but think if that 747 was AF1 and MUST emergency land to protect the President...they'd still be dead but HEROS :)
@@allendconder The President would be ejected in Presidential escape pod WAY before this scenario ever would be a possibility 😆
@@jerseyfky True lol…but my point was that’s an almost impossible situation. If a 747 pilot is making that landing they would know if most of the souls on that plane survived they are damn hero’s. But good rebuttal lol
@@jerseyfky “Captain the president has safely ejected, you are clear for landing”
“This mothef***** didn’t believe in me?!” 🤣🤣
A small price to pay
The main issue here as that the jet approaches are way to steep because you have the spoilers out. In the real world we can't have the ground spoilers extended in the air precisely because of what you are experiencing here. Try a flatter more stable approach without the spoilers extended. That will reduce your stall speed which will actually mean you can approach more slowly and mean a better chance of success.
Most of the players...The MSFS 2020 is ultra realistic! TFS2020: Hold my beer, i´m going to land a triple seven in Lukla🤣🤣
Hahaha sometimes it's not that realisatic 🤣🤣🤣
ruclips.net/video/3XlrtjnTFZQ/видео.html :) I tried this in xplane once… tricky! This is not my video though!
That doesn’t match a 747 at lukla
As flight simulator it's realistic but not as the crash simulator
@@fendt126 Yeah you could actually make I as realistic as you want, my last video is way more realistic then this one. But sometimes it's also fun to just try something out!
Those wings of the 747 destroyed the whole village 😀
Collateral damage
I've seen a video of a landing there back when there was just grass and/or gravel... and barely any houses.
Does the flight sim allow for changing the time period?
@ziiofswe nope
this is only applicable to the first 747 landing there. :D
Next up the An-225 😄
It's in my latest video of Saba 😁
A Viggen in your display picture- I see you too are a man of taste.
"911, what's your emergency?"
"Yeah, listen. A 747 has just crashed through my living room."
Much flatter glide slope and high power approach of around 125Knotts would do a good 747 landing but still the runway length & wing clearance remains a constraint
Rodger that....over.
Yeah but the problem is that lukla airport is very high so you need a higher approach speed. Also my wheight was too much haha, but I had the sim just a few weeks then so I wasn't really experienced
@@theflightsim2020 I feel like a clean 75 knot headwind might help 😉
3:10 Well congratulations, you landed safely. But now it'll take a team of yaks to tow the A320 backwards so it can make the turn towards the passenger terminal 🤣
I´ve been in Lukla once and i can say the airport and the buildings around are pretty accurate. :)
Funny, silly, and dubious idea. Glad you made this video, though. It is obvious that MS FS has not been made with the question "What happens to the fuselage in a plane crash?" in mind. Thank you for investigating this crazy idea, though. It is good fun. 😄😁
Thanks!!! Yeah sometimes msfs isn't very realistic 🙃
i really enjoyed this , thanks for the laughs :)
Looks very realistic this simulator, even the mountains ahead on landing , which is a mountain pass I walked over to Lukla from Mera Peak .
Not sure what was more painful, the actual crashes or the high pitched sound that followed each of them.
B747: I'll do it!
Tall trees and houses: Let us hook your wings, B747!
"B747 touches a tree"
FS2020: _You have damaged your plane_
" *Also 747 flips upside down* "
FS2020: totally fine and normal
Hahaha 'ULTRA REALISM 🔥'

You did a lot better than my attempts with the 747, and i took all the weight out. ✈
Well cut, good music choice. Fun to watch and props for you skills!
Thanks man 🙌👍
LOLOL. Thank you for this. First laugh of the day, and it's 10PM!!!
Little tip in the experiments dont use the damage setting so you don't reset the flight you crash
I miss the PMDG Flight Dynamics on FSX.
Can you explain to me what this means? Ive never played any of the games but am now curious what PMDG flight dynamics are
@@iElementGraphics Back in FSX, you could disable crash detection and so when you struck a mountain or any valid terrain, the game would just bounce your aircraft. If you landed any aircraft without landing gear, it would just continuously bounce up and down, which looked pretty funny. Obviously FS2020 removed that by making it so when you hit terrain your aircraft would just sorta flop.
Thanks for the video mate
haha.. so much fun to watch! Great Video! :D
An airport I've actually been to, and when I was there (almost 25 years ago), it was all twin engined turboprops, mostly DHC-6 Twin Otters with the odd Dornier 228. I can't imagine any jet airliner has ever landed there.
Nice!
@@theflightsim2020 It's an experience, and I can heartily recommend a hike up to Everest Base camp as a trip. It's spectacular and the people are very welcoming. Nepal is a fascinating country. Also, Lukla has to be experienced in person to appreciated the setting.
nb. when I was there it was prior to the runway being paved.
@@TheEulerID yeah that's very cool but I will not go to the top haha
Those aircraft still operate . And yes no jet has ever landed in Lukla
Fun stuff.. try flying a flatter highpower approach .. should work!
How about landing the other way????
OMG....this had me dying. very cool! I stayed till the end. :)
Very cool! I flew on a Cessna grand caravan into Lukla!
I love the graphics of this game, looks so real!
A320 looks like typical Ryanair landing :D
Ryanair called, they watched your video and are now excited to hire you
Great video! Really enjoyed. Just sub.
I am glad somebody figured that out. In the meanwhile I'd rather hike into Lukla. It's just safer.
best thing ever to watch when bored hahaha a nice one. boeing dreamliner was awesome
Thanks!!!
Good video! But it might be possible to land 747 there. Just add 100 kts of direct headwind and you should be able to stop before runway ends
May as well add like 150 so it basically VTOLs in there
Mountain be like: no
@@ApeExample it's not realistic but you can put any wind anywhere in flight simulator. It doesn't care about the mountains :)
Wow so smooth :D. This is amazing
Was fun jajaja tnks for share bro...
If you had even a little bit of finess on approach, and got the plane down to approach speeds (150 knott in the A320 is about 50 knotts to fast) The airbus will stall when empty with flaps full at 89 knots, and i know you can land a 320 at lukla, long with the entire 737-200 300 400 500 600 700 800 BBJ and BBJ3 although the 900 is sketchy as hell
You can actually land 'Lukla' on a 747.
Laughing so hard at the A320 attempts 😆
When your SUV is too small for the car park but you ain't no quitter.
Congrats for your skills and dedication tho that’s pretty impressive. If I wasn’t that much of a coward I’d like to see Lukla irl, someday maybe..
imagine living in the lukla village and seeing A320, B777, B747 wings hanging over ur roof XD
Lol
Interesting video I must say. Glad it's a sim for this. LOL. In order to making something like this really work effectively, you really should practice a few bush flying techniques first. I have actually done these in real life in real bush planes and they do really work, even in SIM. Try it on C-172 first then C-208B. These are "slip" and "cross control". Kind of like crabbing but different. Of course it also helps if one's plane is equipped with a STOL kit. Try this. You'll find you really like it.
In watching your video all of your approaches are too high. You can't lose altitude quickly enough without gaining speed which is hilariously obvious by your flying techniques. This is what slip is for. Slip, or cross control, is full aileron L or R with opposite rudder. Bush pilots in AK use it all the time. Lose altitude fast w/o gaining speed. This will greatly improve your landing techniques on fields like this.
Then, we you think you've got it down, hop over the hill and try Paro Bhutan. Real pilots fly this in jets so it shouldn't be problem. :)
Fricking hilarious.. Good job!
Wow! Amazing video! What did you use to record the video off the screen of the MSFS2020?
I use the Xbox game bar to record my screen and sounds (I don't play on Xbox but it's for pc)

Can you come up from below, slamp in the reverse thrust prior to landing then stall just before the treshold.
It looks like you should be able to come up from below, following the ground up. Then you should be able to go with pretty good speed, then in effect fall down on the runway
All other planes: We can land on Lukla Airport! Yay!
B747: No, no and no!
Oh man now that's funny! Great effort! 😁😆...
Probably a silly question, but how do you get the Not-Garmen 1000 version of the skyhawk? I love the analog gauges of the C152
Uhmm I'm not sure but when you select your aircraft there are different variants. But maybe this version is only in the premium deluxe version
awesome ryanair landings
You can do it if you remove all the speed, while in the air, you might stall
You're really crazy, man :)
Nice. Can you please try to do the same for Mangalore International Airport (IXE) . Both Landings & Take offs attempts
Wow I can’t get over the fact that the airport is super identical
Good, now try landing them up on Syangboche!
Can we get a @Mentour Pilot video walkthrough of what went wrong, and what procedures to improve for the future :D
now try AN 225 ;)
Nice video
thanks to hearted my comment
If you turn the windspeed up high you can even land the 747 on an aircraft carrier - try it it's fun 😀👍
I landed the 747 in Lukla, landed softly at 115 knots in stall, I have the video, I'm going to post it on my channel.
Nice!!! Yeah my realisme settings are on high so if I hit a tree it's already a crash
m.ruclips.net/video/jRGt2Oxt_R4/видео.html
dude chillin in the balcony nextdoor got smacked with that wing
nice
You're coming in with too steep of a glide slope. Would be interesting to see it with a headwind, full reverse thrust just before landing on the tip of the runway with auto-brakes set to max. Full flaps and about 122 Knots.
I wonder if it would help coming up from below so gravity is removing speed as you get closer.
It is also possible in practice. However, only once and it is reported in every newspaper.
After that the airfield needs a major overhaul
'The town now has no power but we got the 787 home safely' :D
Weirdly entertaining. Good tries anyway sir. Hope I never have to fly with you in seat 1, lol.
I attempted to land one in my home town airport of Tyabb, VIC, Australia. Didn't go well. I'd love to see a video of someone trying it :)
Dark Souls mode: land a An-225 there :)
The damage modeling is really funny
What dreamers! No sane B-7478 would ever do such a thing! Kids and their video games -- bah!
Try putting the parking break on before you land, this significantly reduced the stopping distance
If it does that just shows how poor the physics and MSFS2020 is!
@@ksp1278 nah, it shows only that tire wear has no damage
Or better - Autobreak on maximum setting.
Very cool video.

Absolutely zero chance with an A320!!
As you're trekking into Lukla from the direction of Everest there used to be a broken wing off a twin otter high above the path reading: 'Welcome to Lukla!'
The Nepalis have a sick sense of humour!! 😂😂😂

"Is it possible to land the Boeing 747-8i at Lukla airport???"
Me: "No it's necessary" (cue "no time for caution" from the Interstellar sound track)
I don't know much about runways and I'm sure they thought about this but what if the runway was angled diagonally for more footage and thus bigger planes could land there. That town would be twice the size.
Doing that would not be possible because of the tall hills around lukla.
Hold on a damn minute, is that runway really angled like that in real life???? :O
Yes, you can search it on yt
It could be possible by digging a long tunnel into the mountain to accomodate wing span and height of the jet plane but then you would also need a large space in the tunnel for the aircraft to turn around.
A tunnel this wide might need pillars...in the middle of runway, which will defeat the whole purpose of making one.
@@abcdefgh6121 Could be arched? ha!, ha! ha! My point was that it is feasible but more likely to be a folly if it happened. Extending the runway at the mountain drop off end might be more logical.
@@terrythekittieful Oh yes, you are absolutely right. Arched like the hangers.
That would be a perfect way to extend it.
But yeah, that would be half the battle won, as we would be able to make the tunnel wide enough to land a plane but not enough to make it turn( if there is a way to pull it back, then it might be possible)
But I dont think the mountain drop will be practical. We would have to fill it right from the bottom. That would not be quite feasible(if at all possible).
