- World's most dangerous airport and also a busiest airport when weather is good.
you can see many airplane and helicopter take-off and landing with in 8 minute.
after this clip, the weather become worst, and Lukla airport is closed.

It's amazing how many airplanes and helicopters are flying in and out of Lukla all the time. It must be quite stressful to be a pilot over there. 😬

I hope I can visit one day lukla and its sorroundings,specially EBC.
I like the seamless clockwork maneuvering at this airport- it's almost like an "aviation waltz"....
They have a control tower and they it is notified when planes take off from Kathmandu. Everything is fairly controlled the Tower is near the top on the LH side.
@@beagle7622 actually it’s advisory rather than positive control. The tower advises the pilot when the runway is clear and it’s up to him/her to take off or land. No clearance per se.
@@akashramdial2240 I was going on what I heard on one of the videos . I have been on similar flights in New Zealand ( you know close to mountain peaks ( like a 100 feet or so ) but nothing with an approach & short runway like that .

This is one of the most dangerous Airport in the world.
The runway sloping down at the beginning and goes up to give maximum take off....like a sky jumping slide 👍
The downslope and gravity work together so that the short runway works. If it were flat, a longer runway would be required.
So before this airport how did people get there? Helicopter? Hike?

I am somewhat surprised that they carry enough fuel on the inbound flight so that they are able to fly out without refueling. That is a lot of extra weight for them to carry.
It's cause its only a 25 min flight from Kathmandu to Lukla.

The Twin Otters of Tara Air were much more stable when taxiing for take off. This plane was swaying side to side.

Ok whoa what's going on here? It looks like a town the size of my bedroom and the helicopters rotors never stopped up and down and up...the planes props didn't stop to depart and embark passengers...why so much movement here...everyone going to pick up a bag of chips and pop in the next town? That's what they do over there like we do for Tim Hortons coffee here in Canada?

Yes this town is a gateway to world highest Mount Everest,,,, and there you can find a lots of foreigner's ,,that's why this airport is busy everytime, because of world tourist got it, once you come here to visit then you will see either it's big than your room or what,

Don't you think that's a lot of stress on the environment with all these people coming and going? Holy that is unreal in my opinion how much is happening in this scene... Boggling.

it is not always busy. It is high in the mountains where weather during the day is windy and cloudy. So everybody has to fly within short time in the morning and evening. You miss, you wait another day.
Because this place is a gateway to Mount Everest ,,,,because of world wide foreigners came here to see to trek, to visit
