But there is no guarantee he will be able to sustain it when he grows older. Messi was too extreme from the age of 19-25. I personally feel, considering Lamine's age, his overall game is more mature and complete than Messi and Neymar at the same age. But dribbling wise Messi was twice as good as Lamine Yamal.

Jules says Deschamps has made 4 semis in 5 tournaments and no one has ever done that before. ask yourself, did they overachieve or underachieve? because i'd say for every tournament since 2016, they've been the pre-tournament favorites. France have had the most talented team for the last decade almost and they have 1 World Cup to show for it. this has also been a period where other major countries have had down periods. Germany struggled for a long time, Italy have fallen off, Brazil aren't the powerhouse they once were, etc. so France could have won more if they'd had a better manager over the last decade. i think if Zidane or someone of that caliber was in charge, they have at least 1 Euros win in that time frame. and now they've confirmed Deschamps is staying until the next World Cup. so by the next Euros, if Zidane is finally in charge, i think a good portion of France's 2nd golden generation will have retired or aged-out (Griezmann, Kante, & Giroud won't even make the next World Cup). so as a France fan, i'm happy we got the 2018 World Cup, but we left a lot on the table, in my opinion.

In Messi era, it's so hard to get chance when you are 16.immagine Spain in 2008 to 2012, where was Yamal be playing in that squad? Nowadays we don't have world bitters, that's we keep praising, these kids

Messi had the chance to play for Spain at young age; Messi did it for Argentina at youth level by winning the world cup then the Olympics. He couldn't play for senior team aged 16 because they had Aimar and Riquelme Please give Leo a break.

Didn't really enjoy watching these two bicker for 10 minutes. Gab had a good point to make; Juls could let him make it instead of constantly interrupting and missing it.
Spain have been impressive this Euros with only one truly world class player, Rodri, and maybe Carjaval. The rest of the team are young, injury prone and/or inconsistent, or at the tail end of their careers. De la Fuente has done an impressive job or turning them into a real team.
Spain are far superior to England but I wouldn't be surprised if England defend stubbornly for the entire game and nick a goal at the end. Such are the margins in football.

Gab is suffering the problem the English people suffer. Overestimating their ability and underestimating their opponents. Spanish players are better than English in terms of technical ability, they prove everytime they play. The fact that EPL is watched more than La Liga may have led to this myopia. Spanish teams have played 23 finals since 2002 (most of any country in Europe), they have won all of them. Spanish teams are still dominant in Europe (UCL, Women World Cup, Nations League, Euro). Spanish managers dominate European league, 3 of the top 4 teams in EPL last season were managed by Spanish managers, Bundesliga was won by a Spanish manager. Is that evidence enough for Gab?

It's too early for the comparison now. I appreciate Lamine Yamal I love him for giving this impact for Spain I will love him improving day by day but if you compare Yamal to Messi there are areas that I don't believe Yamal will ever reach. There were so many comparisons been made and they disapeared. Lamine Yamal is just 16 and this is not what every player can do and Messi didn't make this impact during his 16 or 17 but football is already there in his gene. Why didn't he make when he was 16? He had health issue and as you know who and what type of players Barcelona had during that time. Who is Ronaldinho? Iniesta, Xavi, they were the best team in the world with too many top world class players they didn't give much to youth team. I mean if Messi was included in the first team even only when he was 14 he would have had the best player that time. You know now Barcelona has left nothing but to depend on youth system so they brought in Lamine Yamal who is blessed by Messi himself. No need to wonder too much who will be better but rewind yourself and see in the areas like drilling, passing and reading the game. I wish Yamal develop

The only thing he's missing is the "Super Ballon DOr" which is given every 3 decades or so, last and only one was given to Di Stefano in 1989. Next one should be handed out in 2029 and the main 3 candidates looks to be Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo and Ronaldo Nazario (Brazilian Ronaldo) but surely Messi will be awarded the award.
