Neat idea! Wheel suggestions: 1) "look ma, no hands!" - kill zombies without using your hands (no melee, no shooting, but traps and turrets allowed) 2) destroy only - take an existing POI to use as horde base. You can modify it but only by removing things, no additions allowed. (An easy one) 3) the pacifist - you must withstand the horde without killing any zombies. Not even traps. 4) fetch and clear base - your next fetch and clear mission will be your horde base 5) construction only - use an existing POI but not allowed to destroy blocks, only add to it. 6) "Take 2" - recreate a previous base with some improvements 7) lowest/highest skill tree wins - whichever perk tree has the most/least points determines the weapons/fighting style for horde night. 8) robin hood - bows only 9) no base/on foot & by any means necessary - no fighting style restricrions but no base allowed. Parkour is your friend but POI interiors are not.
Hats off to you for continuing to be creative and innovative with your presentation man. Even though 7D2D is a bit stale for me at this point, I will watch ALL of your content regardless of what game you play because of how amazing you. I appreciate all that you do to keep it fresh and interesting! Thank you!
I'm right there with you! 7 Days has lost some of its glow for me but I still love to play it. Fortunately, it has this unique ability to be modded and played in so many different ways. I think this might be a really fun run 😁
Just so you are aware at the Fermier Residence in the safe room hidden behind the bookshelf, if you take the time to beat through the grate on the floor there is a munitions box in there.
This is a pretty good series. I love stuff like these where you include us, the viewers to sort of participate. You'd make a good streamer ngl. Here's some challenges for you: --Fists only. Proper fists, no knucks, just the two God given fists you have. (Traps are ok to make it easier on yourself, minus turrets) --dirt base. Base made out of dirt (good luck if you got explosives only lmao) --hanging wire base: a semi-floating base that's held up by "wires" off of two or more POI's. Choose whatever materials you like for the wires and the base, but you can't upgrade the POI's themselves. --Drunkard. On horde night, you can only kill zombies while under the influence of grandpa's moonshine. If it ran out, then you have to dip so better hoard on it. (Beer only would also work, but then it's no fun if you get that drunken master book.) --stuck inside. Like Glock's, you can only loot from that POI only. This is just a rule, not a horde base restriction, you can build somewhere else. --Lootbag only. Also stolen from Glock. and that's all i have. I have other boring restrictions like pipe weapons or stone age weapons only but they're pretty basic. Anyway, i'm excited for this series. I hope it last long.
I really hope that one comes up late, I have an idea for how it could work - WW1 style bunker with a no-mans-land of traps, spotlights, barbed wire, etc!
This is honestly a very interesting premise and I can't wait to see how it evolves from here! Horde base suggestions: Pyramid base, underwater base (or one supported above a body of water), bridge base using one of the bridge POI's (that spawn at the edge of towns) as a foundation
Gonna be fun to sink a lot of time into building here - just not building on the same base! Although I've been thinking - It's probably okay to reuse and old horde base later in the series if the challenge fits it - just spend a week upgrading it
Oh wow! Cool concept! Will be interesting looking at the different kinds of bases~ One other suggestion, perhaps as a reward for surviving, you could have a roulette of prizes to reward yourself with? Like maybe building materials, or even weapons & ammo? Will be looking forward to the next episode!
Oh the good old days tree houses were a thing in the early versions the zombies couldn’t hit the trees then at some point devs patched it. Very interesting thanks for the video
This is a perfect series for something I wanted to see, take one of the construction sites, your choice, and then finish building it. You could cosplay as a construction man and use a hammer and nail gun, but its really up to you, very excited for this series!
This series looks promising. Looking forward to all the different future horde base designs and combat combinations! It does become a different game once you abandon the idea that you should have one horde base that you constantly have to repair. This mixes it up and forces you to be creative.
A self contained episode with a horde and a challenge, this is gonna be a wild ride. Who else is looking forward to this new style? I know im excited for something new. Show GNS some love for trying something new!
It's actually quite a relief to be "out" of character for once so I can talk more directly to the audience. I like doing the immersive RP thing too, but good to change up once in a while
really cool idea my friend, id like to see more challenges in this series.. kinda nice that u broke the zombies with just trees 😀 love it so far, as well as the other wheel of "fortune" series, gives a nice touch to the vanilla version. keep it up.
Oh what a fun series! Definitely looking forward to this. Good job keepin it fresh! I'd watch anything you put out, but we need you to be enjoying yourself as well! Thanks Tem. Happy New Year.
I was thinking about it while watching Skippy play darkness falls, I've been watching 7dtd content and playing since about a11 or 12. You, Skippy, Woodle and everyone in the community has become part of my routine at work to the point even my boss watches your content. Just wanted to say, thanks for making these videos man, you definitely make my job less boring.
I think this episode came out very well. When it comes to cramming 5 days of play + a horde night, there is only 2 real options, heavy edit with some skipping and fast forwarding, or make the episodes longer. I think the choice you made is a great one though. It provided enough content to not only entertain, but to also be informative and show the process as well as the challenge involved.
I figured there are some things we just don't need to see in every single series/episode. Like routine questing/looting/harvesting.. I think we can skip past a lot of that and keep the highlights while focusing more on how to tackle the weekly challenge
@@GunsNerdsandSteel I couldn't agree more! At this point, we've all either played through enough of it or consumed enough of the content to understand what's going on. Keep up the great work!
This is going to be a real fun series! Love the wheels; always keeps it fresh and interesting as you never really know what you're going to get. In general, I prefer to see all the days individually but the way you edit makes it very entertaining; the musical montage fast forward type thing is fun. Also, to cram all 5 days with horde fight would make for an uncomfortably long video without the edits. I'm a fan of this format for sure! Can't wait for the next one!
I watch all your content & while I love your long format 15+ episode series, I think this "series" of standalone episodes is a really great idea. I'm looking forward to all the different combinations of bases & fighting styles that the wheel is going to mix up for you. I find it's easy for content creators to fall into the same playstyle for series after series & the only difference is either the mods or overhaul & the back story they give their character. Really can't wait to see what happens next.
The fermier residence at 27:30 has a secret stash below the floor in the secret room, where the "drain" is. It may not look like it because the floor has like a 1000 hp, but there is a crate below.
I really like this idea. I'm not very creative so I don't have any suggestions to put on the wheel that I'm sure dozens of people haven't already suggested. But for your worry of videos being choppy in this series, you could start off each day saying "So day 2 started with...." or "Night 3 ended like this and on day 4 I did mostly this.....". So the beginning or ending of a day is easier to follow along. Hope that makes sense. Great work as always Mr. GNS!
I love the premise of this series! Very enjoyable video, you hit the balance between trying to show everything and getting 5 days plus a horde into a 45 minute video. Thank you , and the other commenters, I learned things today about trees and hidden loot. We need to get you some anti-gravity boots, though, or maybe some "can see thru trees" goggles. 😃
Return of the wheels! Yay! I did see that a lot of people mentioned removing challenges after they've been selected, but there are so many combinations! Like you could get the tree house with explosives, or archery, etc. The probability of getting the same things again is quite small, especially since (according to the comments) you've added more things 😁 I will enjoy either way! I always enjoy GNS series. They are definitely my fave ❤
Ok i love this challenge idea. it is awesome to see new horde bases all the time and with each a different theme or challenge. Looking forward to this series.
Would love to see some sort of Island base, if your map would allow it. Find an island that's completely surrounded by water (yes I know that's redundant, it's the definition of an island) and fortify that however you can. Also a *potentially* fun challenge for the right wheel could be no-armor? Loving this idea already, keep up the grade videos Tem!
Okay, I didn't expect to see the zombies being oblivious to _trees_ as supports. That's actually pretty hilarious. As for ideas to add to the wheel... how about an aquatic base? Something surrounded by the water of a pond, river, etc... think something like a beaver hut, where the entrance is underwater, active space is more or less otherwise fully enclosed, and there's a separate tunnel out as an emergency exit, one the dead can't simply pile up to access.
My thinking is they didn't attack the trees because there was an easier and viable path to the player. Which makes sense, because even with a regular horde base they ignore supports when there is an easy viable path to the player. Now if Tem was standing on a one block wide, three block high thingy then they would of course attack the support, just as they would a tree if Tem was only attached to it say by a ladder only or single block attached to it. No viable path, so it's logical to the zeds to go for that support.
Prob one of the best video ideas I have seen. Change and variation are fun, so this is going to stay engaging and fresh imo. You could prob reintroduce this idea dozens of times just tweaking the different spin options. Another fun option could be: only getting to use things you loot, so maybe 0 mining and just using the poi's mostly that exist
Really liking this roulette idea. Ive always thought a fireman playthrough would be a cool series. Have the fire axe as a weapon/moltoves, live in fire stations, add a fireman outfit that gives fireman related bonus, spreadable fire mod, etc.
love the premise of the series. as for the trees, i think its indeed an AI thing that zombies ignore trees, the devs probably never concidert using trees as foundations, so i think if you use more trees in closer proximity and you use that to build a base high enough to be above the trees itself you can actually can fix the visuability problem too, assuming the trees can support the weight when going above the trees itself, something i'm gonna test myself actually, might get back to you on that.
hello i know its bit out of hand but i was think to add wheel when you rool for biom you fight the hord night in it dont have to be every hord night but like could be every second or so and thanks for new serie love your work so happy to see this will be fun :D
You wanted ideas for challenges? Here is few tho I do highly point out they are of stupid tier: -VIP protection Get in another dummy player at horde night and have them stay in your base for that night. IF the VIP gets removed from your base (Zombies break blocks so that VIP falls out for example) or the VIP dies? You failed the challenge. Remember to lower amount of zombies for each player during this! -Heavy Duty Get yourself heavy armor of your choice and hoard so much into your inventory you are encumbered. No mobility increase mods allowed. Sounds easy but if you get base that doesn't work too well with low movement? It could be interesting. -Biome straight Each day you are only allowed to loot from one biome: First in forest, second in burned forest, third in desert, fourth in tundra and fifth in wasteland. You can ONLY use resources you gather during these days for your base building. Gear, ammo and meds can be used from who knows where, just that your materials are restricted.
Love the VIP idea - I could just use temcam, station him in a random field, and have the objective to be to build around him and keep him safe during horde night!
I used that cabin lots through out the Alphas. That steel roof is super handy early game. In A16 I surrounded the cabin with a giant moat Lined with doublewide concrete. It was a hoard base that lasted from the first hoard night, right up until A17 was released.
in that house whit the safe room there is a loot stash under the drain ( or how you call it ) in the middle of that safe room . love to see more of this series
Axellent indeed! 😂 I use axes exclusively in my current playthrough and they're great melee weapons, especially with a strength build, gives you all the dismemberment chances you need. ;) Didn't know that tree bases are back to working. For a couple of alphas they took that opportunity out. That's nice. Cheers.
Really Interesting start in the new series :) there is a mod on Nexusmods that add a skill for the axes in the Fortitude Attribute as well as a mod that add a book series for axes. im currently playing with both of them and axes are viable weapons now. its not overpowered but also not to weak compared to other weapons
"I know all the secrets of this place now." Missed an ammo chest behind the bookcase in the floor. Also, there's two boxes in a shed outside the Fermier Residence.
If you can, add a motocross trap based base. Where its a dirt track that uses traps as the primary killing method while you use a bike or other vehicle to lead the zombies along it.
Not too bad, maybe 6 hours of editing. More than usual, for sure. But for this series I'll be filming on one day and editing the next day. Typically I'd film in the morning and edit the rest of the day, which has led to some VERY long days recently and I was keen on changing it up
I cant wait to do some real testing around the treehouse idea, I'm wondering what we saw was a fluke or if the zeds really can't attack supports if you're in a tree!
This is gonna be fun!! Maybe add a horde base and use T1 weapons? Like use a boulder and use a pipe baton or something. Or a telephone booth horde base. Thanks, Tem!! Hope you and yours had a safe holiday and hope you have an amazing 2025!!!
Great idea! But instead of telephone booth I'm adding Outhouse Base to the list - because I know there are a few outhouses that could be converted but I haven't seen any phone booths!
Axe is my fav melee weapon. I use a build I call Scavengejack; it focuses heavily on Fortitude and Perception and relies on Lumberjack armor. Its unconventional, but a great asset when playing co-op.
i think you should consider a parkour obstacle horde base, cant stay still, keep em moving and grooving, and melee only and basic traps for getting your kills
Scratching out the choices as they are picked could be a good idea. That way you dont get the same choices thoughtout this series. I've used the steel axe as a weapon before. Its fun.
Yeah apart from killing random zombies I've never made a serious effort to use tools as weapons. Now I'm kind of stuck with the axe, at least for a while, until I get more magazines. I'm not complaining either!
Good call man, until he hits the full stealth armor set and we get a 20 min vid that week because he has to fast forward all the kills lol so maybe all but full stealth?
More2Me4Life just did a series she called Wheel of Death where every day she spun wheels for difficulty, speeds, feral sense on or off, blood moon warning time, etc. Some of the days looked pretty intense. It was a fun playthrough. I like this idea as well!
Obstacle course horde base. Take every single convoluted trick you know and put it into a singular horde base where the goal is to outlast the horde without killing a single zombie, or as few as possible.
The Fermier Residance you missed a secret hidden ammo chest in the floor it in the secret room look at the grate they changed how the horde work get harder zombie but the hordes are like the old days mine stopped at 12.00
The fermier residence with the safe room behind the book case, I've seen others break through the drain in the center of the floor of that room and there is something under it even though it's like a full strength block
Neat idea!
Wheel suggestions:
1) "look ma, no hands!" - kill zombies without using your hands (no melee, no shooting, but traps and turrets allowed)
2) destroy only - take an existing POI to use as horde base. You can modify it but only by removing things, no additions allowed. (An easy one)
3) the pacifist - you must withstand the horde without killing any zombies. Not even traps.
4) fetch and clear base - your next fetch and clear mission will be your horde base
5) construction only - use an existing POI but not allowed to destroy blocks, only add to it.
6) "Take 2" - recreate a previous base with some improvements
7) lowest/highest skill tree wins - whichever perk tree has the most/least points determines the weapons/fighting style for horde night.
8) robin hood - bows only
9) no base/on foot & by any means necessary - no fighting style restricrions but no base allowed. Parkour is your friend but POI interiors are not.
Really great ideas!
Not going to mess around with grabbing the main loot on the fetch quests. Proceeds to grab the main loot on all the fetch quests. Love it.

--dirt base. Base made out of dirt (good luck if you got explosives only lmao)
--hanging wire base: a semi-floating base that's held up by "wires" off of two or more POI's. Choose whatever materials you like for the wires and the base, but you can't upgrade the POI's themselves.
--Drunkard. On horde night, you can only kill zombies while under the influence of grandpa's moonshine. If it ran out, then you have to dip so better hoard on it. (Beer only would also work, but then it's no fun if you get that drunken master book.)
--stuck inside. Like Glock's, you can only loot from that POI only. This is just a rule, not a horde base restriction, you can build somewhere else.

Love the new format and don't mind the editing, it's worth it to get a horde night challenge in a single episode!
I used that cabin lots through out the Alphas. That steel roof is super handy early game. In A16 I surrounded the cabin with a giant moat Lined with doublewide concrete. It was a hoard base that lasted from the first hoard night, right up until A17 was released.
Happy new years. Hope you had some time to relax 😎
in that house whit the safe room there is a loot stash under the drain ( or how you call it ) in the middle of that safe room .
love to see more of this series
Axellent indeed! 😂
I use axes exclusively in my current playthrough and they're great melee weapons, especially with a strength build, gives you all the dismemberment chances you need. ;)
Didn't know that tree bases are back to working.
LumberTem!
A lumberjack series would be awesome!
"I know all the secrets of this place now."
Missed an ammo chest behind the bookcase in the floor. Also, there's two boxes in a shed outside the Fermier Residence.
Amazing video!
Thanks!
If you can, add a motocross trap based base. Where its a dirt track that uses traps as the primary killing method while you use a bike or other vehicle to lead the zombies along it.
Fun series idea and I think you did really well with the editing. I know that must have taken forever to squeeze 5 days into 1 video.
Not too bad, maybe 6 hours of editing. More than usual, for sure. But for this series I'll be filming on one day and editing the next day. Typically I'd film in the morning and edit the rest of the day, which has led to some VERY long days recently and I was keen on changing it up
@@GunsNerdsandSteel That's really fast. We think it would have taken us at least 10. You do so much, you've gotten really good at it.
Good idea for series. I also think a return to Borderline since you have learned a lot of skills now would be interesting
A big pit might help you be lower than the branches but still have the elevation for hordes
I cant wait to do some real testing around the treehouse idea, I'm wondering what we saw was a fluke or if the zeds really can't attack supports if you're in a tree!
This is a great idea for a series
My first ever time playing 7D2D i used to just run around with my fire axe killing zombies :D Such a great weapon
This is gonna be fun!! Maybe add a horde base and use T1 weapons? Like use a boulder and use a pipe baton or something. Or a telephone booth horde base. Thanks, Tem!! Hope you and yours had a safe holiday and hope you have an amazing 2025!!!
Telephone booth is brilliant, maybe a hesco barrier (quasi military style) base? Or is that not available in crafting in vanilla?
@morganluddy755 hesco blocks are a mod I believe
@nicholaskemblowski3924 good call, so easy to forget what you have installed, what runs you've watched, etc.!!
Great idea! But instead of telephone booth I'm adding Outhouse Base to the list - because I know there are a few outhouses that could be converted but I haven't seen any phone booths!
@@GunsNerdsandSteel can't wait to see it!
Very good. I used a tool once and was curious. Most interesting though. You did an Issac Clarke
Axe is my fav melee weapon. I use a build I call Scavengejack; it focuses heavily on Fortitude and Perception and relies on Lumberjack armor. Its unconventional, but a great asset when playing co-op.
Great idea! Tools have way more versatility than weapons, it's a solid early game strategy if you ask me!
I love the Mario music when you fall and break your leg
Wheel Challenge suggestion for the Horde Fight Wheel: Hearing Impaired or Seeing Impaired
i think you should consider a parkour obstacle horde base, cant stay still, keep em moving and grooving, and melee only and basic traps for getting your kills
Man wish i had editing skils like you impressive
Awesome idea you got there!😂 new series🥰🥰🥰 LOVE IT. thanks for the entertainment
Every new GNS series makes me restart my game. Here is to another world to cover in voxel pits!
Right now I’m moving from biome to biome after finishing trader quests. It makes it challenging building a new base in each biome
The vibe in that montage at the beginning was awesome
very interesting play thru....i like it though...you did a good job!!
Horde Base Type: Furniture Shapes Only, Fences Only, Labyrinth
an armour wheel would be good, have to spin to find out what armour you'll be wearing. or maybe make that an option in the challenge wheel
Good call man, until he hits the full stealth armor set and we get a 20 min vid that week because he has to fast forward all the kills lol so maybe all but full stealth?
Great stuff! Keep em coming.
Very entertaining video!
Love the new format!
More2Me4Life just did a series she called Wheel of Death where every day she spun wheels for difficulty, speeds, feral sense on or off, blood moon warning time, etc. Some of the days looked pretty intense. It was a fun playthrough. I like this idea as well!
YESSSSSS GNS GNS!
finally, i was bored without your vids!
wow love this idea keeps the game refreshing
Glad you enjoy it!
38:43 Oh look a puppy.
Obstacle course horde base. Take every single convoluted trick you know and put it into a singular horde base where the goal is to outlast the horde without killing a single zombie, or as few as possible.
The Fermier Residance you missed a secret hidden ammo chest in the floor it in the secret room look at the grate they changed how the horde work get harder zombie but the hordes are like the old days mine stopped at 12.00
This is what comments are for! Thank you!!!
I'm going back!
That was great. Well done.
Thanks!
The fermier residence with the safe room behind the book case, I've seen others break through the drain in the center of the floor of that room and there is something under it even though it's like a full strength block
Primitive weapons/tools/clothing, Demoliagers only and no upgrades above wood, no Traders. :)
Knowing your luck, you will be the only thing hitting the spikes :)
Yup that's usually how it goes!
Ahhh love the variation!
