Pretty sure paying for online service for consoles is standard now. Never was for PC. This is nothing new. Xbox Live was a thing way back, Playstation Plus, Nintendo Online...
In Xbox's limited defense, Xbox Live back in the early 2000s (and to an extent even up until the PS4) was straight up ahead of its time. PS3 didn't have party chat and XBL in that generation was still leagues ahead, IMO. There was nothing else like it on console and PC didn't even really see anything like it until Steam became popular. That's when PC gamers started having all their stats, games, and achievements on one service. Before that, each game was basically its own bubble. That said, paying just to play online nowadays is dumb and it's obvious it has become the standard only because it's an easy cash grab. Not because people are trying to offer an actual service and experience like XBL did in the 2000s.
People often forget that Xbox is owned by Microsoft, the same company that makes the Windows operating system for PCs. In fact, Xbox consoles are essentially specialized PCs designed for gaming. It's not that Microsoft necessarily favors PC gamers, but the connection between the two platforms can confuse fans about where their loyalties should lie. I realized this a decade ago during the Xbox 360 era and decided to stick with PC gaming, a decision that has consistently benefited me.
At the end of the day if there's a game that you want to play and it's through game pass on any tier it's not ideal because they can remove the game at any time and you will have to buy it if you want to play it. I'm on game pass core and it does everything I need. I prefer to buy games than rely on them being provided through a subscription. The reason they are sweetening the deal for PC gamers is because they are competing with Steam and other vendors available on PC. I'm not really bothered about BOP6. I will probably play it in 10 years because it's one that goes straight to back of the backlog que on release. Same as every game that's coming out now. If it meant that much to me like it does other people I would want to buy it not rent it until Microsoft/Activision decides you can't have it anymore.
They know PC gamers wont put up with the bullshit. Microshaft tried paywalling games years ago on PC with Games with Windows live and it failed terribly for them.
Yet they allow more shovelware on Steam than Switch. Game cards are expensive and required to play the games that consoles can. Just without the options that you require. Hopefully your monitor can work. At this point are you really gaming? Just remember not to insult those who didn’t invest in a hobby like you may have. It’s a luxury and PC gaming is exactly that.
@@Castanos0721 What a weird comment? I didn't mention any of the consoles or was directly going out of my way to attack the console gamers in anyway. My comment was directed at Microsoft trying to monetize PC years ago with a online subscription multiplayer paywall called games for windows live and failing to get pc gamers to pay for the online multiplayer subscription on PC. Too this day they still don't charge for multiplayer on PC. It wasn't a direct attack at you or anyone else who plays primarily on console. I am guessing you think I am a PC elitist or something? If that is the case I am far from it. I play games on a Nintendo Switch, Xbox One X and sometimes I play on my old 3DS. If I am in the mood I pull out Xbox 360 or original xbox from the cupboard to play some classic Xbox games. I have spent over a decade or two playing on many different gen consoles and PC. Gaming regardless of platform is an expensive Hobby. I agree Steam does have quite a bit of shovel ware but Nintendo Switch also has quite a bit of shovel ware also. The Eshop is littered with it the last I checked. Yes can plug a PC into a computer monitor, monitors are TV shaped and have pixels like televisions. Haven't had any issues with gaming on a PC monitor? Oh you can also plug your pc into a TV via HDMI if you so choose if you don't want to use a PC monitor. plug a console controller into the PC and play some games like you are playing on a console.
@@auswolf9507 i sensed no evil in your first comment, that person is just got a chip in their shoulder against a clearly superior platform in which he himself cannot afford so he is envious. Console cucks always take it.
IDK why "console game pass" didn't include multiplayer. I bet the majority of game pass subscribers are on Xbox. Not PC. And a PC gamer MUST get ultimate in order to benefit at all. Why should we do that when we have Steam sales and G2A? I still play on Xbox and would've been happy to pay for console game pass if it came with multiplayer and even cost a little extra. If "console game pass" just gave you online play, it would've been a very hard to deal pass up on. Even if it cost like a dollar or two extra.
This is probably the worst take i've ever seen. Ofcourse it's gonna be cheaper on PC if they dont have to host their services like on Xbox (which costs money). No one forces you to buy gamepass ultimate. You can just buy the game and its still a great deal considering you pay 120$ a year for every game known to man. (Thats like the price of 2 games). Also PC isnt getting treated well at all (coming from a xbox player). Xbox games (forza for example) are the worst optimized game in mankind history on pc. So this video is not it

PS3 had no paid online

theres no gamepass ultimate on pc, we get all the stuff ultimate has on console.
