      SO true! At one time, I had a '67 "Stang Convertible, a '67 Falcon Sports Coupe and Dad had 2 '66's-back when you could buy one for $3-700.00 and restore them in the mid to late 1970's. SImple, basic transportation. Sold my fully restored '63 Falcon 2 years ago after owning her for 9 years-the little 144 is just too underpowered. Cars like this will never come again (sigh!)-John in Texas

    I have a 1968 Mustang I bought in 1977. Originally sold in December of 67 at the Ford dealership in Palm Springs. I was in my senior year of high school. Lifelong Southern California car, its in great shape. Very original, never molested, 289,, factory AC, power steering and the optional hood with the turn signal indicators in it. Original engine and transmission too. Can't believe I've had it 46 years. I'll never sell it,, Still going down the road!

    If I remember this correctly, when they talk about that automatic you can also shift manually. If you put the drive lever in #2, the car pull out from a stop in #2 . When you would go to pull out , you would wonder why you were pulling out so slow, then realize you had the shifter in #2 instead of drive

    • @ElCid48
      @ElCid48 5 лет назад

      It's like downshifting. If you are driving on "D" and there's a stop sign, or a traffic light approaching, you can shift to "2" and it will slow down and you save on brakes by not pressing the pedal before. Also, you use "1" when you are driving on a very steep downhill.
