I'm Liverpool born and bred and also a big Pavement fan. I think it's the similar "I don't give a fuck, whatever" attitude that Scousers have that make Pavement appealing to us. The band Grandaddy also have a similar style to Pavement. Loose and intentionally clumsy sounding, but with a strong sense of melody and great songwriting.
This album changed my life no lie. It came out in my senior year in high school and suddenly I was an “indie kid”. I was o seeded with Pavement and Guided By Voices and it felt like they were my own little secret.
this makes me long for the early nineties... great music, great clothes... late teens... wore my "Dirty"-t shirt, knee long black shorts +docs, and just walking around with my friends, giggling, quoting movies and books and the future was ahead of you....
