      @@yourejovian Age, touring, natural wear and tear. The aging process effects all singers in some way, not a new thing. S.M is also not a 'technically good' vocalist and has to sing a bunch of very abrasive lines which makes it even more surprising. Plus he smoked etc.

      "Tight" is the opposite of what Pavement was conceived to be. I get what you mean, but Pavement are at their best when they're sloppy, missing their cues, and coming in early or late.

    • @danielstoddart
      @danielstoddart Год назад +4

      @@Josef_K99 They always seemed to be popular on the English tours. My theory is that they don't sound like English bands. Most British musicians are so mannered and precise. Pavement, on the other hand, is a very California type band and they're real slackers. Their style was to be so loose it was almost falling apart and only barely holding the songs together.

      What was the deal with no water? Is this a regular thing at Primavera or did something go wrong?

    This is a beautiful video. I hope everyone who attended this concert knows how lucky they are. I last saw Pavement play the Auckland Town Hall in New Zealand on 1 March 2010. It was the best concert I have ever been to. My all-time favourite band!

    Listening/watching this as a primer for the Friday night Chicago show and couldn't be more thrilled to see one of my all-time top 5 again. And they appear to be in top form. Saw them in '99 in Denver just prior to them packing it in. So excited! Thank you for the preview!

    Saw Pavement in a movie theater in Sacto CA in the early 1990s. There are more people at this show than were living in Sacto at the time.

    Been a big Pavement fan and never got to see their first reunion (even though I was listening to them in college) this gig was memorable for me because after the previous band where you had to squeeze to the front there were nice gaps to get closer with this one, loved their set and been bumping Transport Is Arranged for weeks now 😊 Primavera was something else...
