- Hey everyone, welcome back with Bean O Mac! Today I continue the beta streak with the deep dive I promised! I explore the E3 Demo that was built off the back of Aki's most recent release at that point, Virtual Pro Wrestling 2! The demo was showed off at E3 in June of 2000 to demonstrate the basic concepts of what would become No Mercy! Then I look into what I consider the most interesting details of the August build of WWE No Mercy. Most of the parts are here but, they aren't put together yet. Canceled characters, unfinished arenas, differing character designs, unused concepts and more are showed off for this video! I personally combed through what the builds had to display and choose the specific topics that I thought would be the most interesting changes to spotlight! So hopefully you agree. And one final note is that although it is available for download and viewing, I did not go over the July build as it seems very similar to the August one. But if there are any details in that you'd like to share down below, feel free! And more videos featuring the beta will be released in the next few days so stay tuned for more!

Well thanks again for all your help with this. I'll probably post some more stuff over the next few days. Have any of you guys heard anything about other AKI betas? I've seen screen shots shown off by Wrestling Video Games of WrestleMania 2000, Revenge, and World Tour.
@@beanomac3126 Nothing for the other AKI games, I just got very lucky when I stumbled upon the page Baker64 was running. But who knows, there's always a chance more prototypes will appear on the internet somewhere.
That Wrestling Video Games RUclipsr seems to have gotten a hold of all the betas. But from what I seen he doesn't comment on how. Strange...

Thank you so much. I remember years ago seeing a picture of a beta wrestler select screen from No Mercy and I could see a face I couldn't recognize. You confirmed it was Big Show. This video is very interesting.
Thanks for the kind words. And I took have waited years to see these as well, so I know your pain. Hopefully some day we can look at the betas for all the AKI titles.
Love this stuff. I'm hoping you will eventually show us some beta builds of War Zone and Attitude. I remember before they named it War Zone, it was just WWF '98, basically named like the 2k series we have today.
It would be sweet. It all depends on whether or not they get released to the public.
I'm glad they made the Spinebuster and People's Elbow into a special only instead of anytime, it would have made the moves less "Special" if you may😂
Totally agree! No Mercy made the People's elbow look so devastating too.

Yeah I would love to see it as well. There were screenshots shared in videos by wrestling video games from all the AKI betas before anyone really got to see these builds. So idk if he has connections, he is the guy with all the beta builds, or what. But I don't think he likes answering questions about them. 😂

@@curtiswilliams5223 yeah likely not. If June had only 6 wrestler Owen likely wouldn't be in it unless someone was a massive Owen fan. By July or August he would have certainly been wiped completely due to the tragedy. More than likely similar with Gillberg, Sable, and the such. Maybe if we're lucky though Goldust still exists in one. Or at the very least some remnants of any the cut wrestlers.

You can remove the women's outfits. Then you'll see things that you definitely couldn't see in the final build ^^

Even with all the glitches, this is still better than all other wrestling games that came out at that time in the West! 🤣😂
Idk, WrestleMania 2000 and Smackdown were both great games as well.
@@beanomac3126 Yeah, but I mean games released in 2000.
The July build has the moves and taunts working, the stuff is broken in the aug build.. But the aug build has the apa bar.
So the July build is working version while everything was essentially messed up by August? No wonder we lost so much stuff and the game erasing data. Idk what happened but it sounds like the development of No Mercy was rough!
15:15 so Bob and Crash Holly really did weigh in at over 400 pounds! Confirmed!
Also, why did they bother including entire entrance themes if they are only going to play for half an entrance? If they cut the themes down to a certain loop they could have used that space to make full entrances. Id rather have a looping theme song with a full entrance, than a full song that we aren't going to hear anyway except in the create menus. Idunno, just my opinion on that.
I think they all looped at some point. Maybe they had something to prove. 😂 Also of course we all know they were super heavyweights. They said as much. How do ya like them now?!

I really liked the full ring entrances in WrestleMania 2000. I think they look good in this build of no mercy I wish they kept it but I'm okay with it as is
To me they wasted some spots by giving Mick Foley, Dude Love and Mankind they're own slots, they could have all his characters share a slot like Taka and Funaki and some of the ladies
@@H20X yeah I assume the reasoning was because of the unique taunts. Which is why I assume the Dude was cut to a create a wrestler. And in all fairness Mick, Cactus, and Mankind were all bigger stars than those characters. Plus it's kinda of like a cop out considering you get 3 clone characters which I'm sure made things easier to artificially inflate the roster.
Fum fact: but the bald rock with the white skin color is able to be seen with a GameShark if You use the unlock everything or just the unlock all titles codes and do a title match they'll have the Rock profile pic and they won't have a walking animation and they'll also crash the game

I think there's a much better version of Shawn's entrance with a fixed camera view and stuff
@@Gemtacbotgameing3 idk, this was the August build. Maybe in the July build? Or maybe because it was the steel cage entrance.
Idk it was a few years ago it was just a video of all the unused entrances in the game I don't think it had everyone but mainly your people like Rock, Stone Cold, HHH, and Shawn@@beanomac3126
@@beanomac3126 okay so all I can find is a video that showcases just the animations and one from a September build that only has 6 characters the Rock, Triple H, Tazz, Kurt Angle, Rikishi witch by the way his name has Phatu at the end for some reason, and Chris Benoit who uses the Rascals theme song instead of his own
@@Gemtacbotgameing3 yeah, I uploaded those myself. I'm sure they're the same from the July and August edition. Those 6 have fully functional entrances with lighting and proper camera work because they were the originals in the E3 Demo for June. So they had to have their entrances properly done.
You may be getting Shawn's entrance confused with the No Mercy Plus mod. It added Full Entrances back and made them look proper.
Also I have full entrances from the June demo and all the August build on the channel if you want to see the rest. They'll be in the beta playlist.

@@beanomac3126 i stated it in the other video but I NEVER SEEN THESE and i’ve been an aki head since i was 5 lmaooo, in every decade of my life i had a spell where i just played revenge, 2000, or no mercy for days on days end lol. i thought i never everything about no mercy atleast, keep it up dude. new subscriber 🥂

I don't about valve much so I don't what you mean. But the moves they do in the game weren't coded properly so they just turn into a jumbled mess when the game can't figure out what it's supposed to do.
I downloaded the August build and the CAW kept kicking me out back to the Smackdown Mall menu, never got to finish

How the heck did the lay out all that dialogue for story mode on that old tech?
