Hesher is completely honest yet we don't know much about him. Usually you know alot about someone especially the ones who lie. But hesher. He's unknown yet clear cut. Present in the moment. Something we should all strive to be. Honest, present minded, and no bs having mentality. "Just send it" vibes
Yeah, definitely. This movie is a favourite of mine. I've forced literally every friend I care for to see it. Amazing acting and such a heartbreaking story that I, after everything I've gone through, can really relate to.
Hi, I just saw this movie on Vudu. Exactly as Natalie describes here - not sentimental but emotional, funny, dark, and true, - truthfully directed and acted. As says Rainn, Devin is invested and exceptional. I decided to watch with Joe and Natalie being a definite go to, and Rainn. I immediately was impressed (concerned) with all the physical beating exhibited on young T.J. but as is noted here he was numb to that kind of pain, dealing with a deeper pain. After watching I read some Vudu reviews. The negatives were just lame comments. I wasn't deterred from my high rating. It was a great find. Thank you to Spencer and the whole gang.
Hesher - I love it. OK it's not a Fellini or a Lars von Trier masterpiece. OK it's a tad sentimental. But hey, it's a feel-good movie and I for one don't mind feeling good (and shedding some manly tears) at the end of a movie. It belongs to the Deus Ex Machina genre: a stranger appears in a family or community and changes their lives before disappearing. Pasolini's Theorem, Elmer Gantry (with Burt Lancaster), The Last Holiday (Alec Guinness) The Rain Maker, Shane - are other examples. The performances are all terrific, JGL is v sexy and what a joy to see Piper Laurie still pulling focus.
This film will make you laugh, it will make you cry, it will make you think & it will make you feel. Joseph Gordon nailed this role. This film is so underrated & the soundtrack is just as much a masterpiece as the movie!!!!
This is a very real hard luck life touching movie. 5 people just trying to get by and their paths cross.A 13 yr old boy is dealing with alot of krap and thankfully he has hesher, the anarchist who prefixes everything with a f bomb. Worth the watch, but its real and raw, I wouldn't describe it as a comedy though.
Nah the first intro notes are shortest straw but the music during the montage sounds sorta reminiscent of first wave black metal. Darkthrone emperor, bathory. It has like a forceful almost "driving" emotion to it if that makes sense. Reminds me of War by Burzum but thats not it.
This film's suppose to start today but it isn't playing at any of the theaterz in my area. What the fuck? Was it one of those movies that doesn't get a wide release 'till after a week or so or what?
