What I loved most about the movie is that it never mentions the 9/11 attacks. It really gave the audience the chance to remember the World Trade Center as a normal and peaceful place.
Mei-Lien Converse I'm aware of that. But I appreciated that here, for the first time in a long time, the Twin Towers were shown intact and standing proud, as they once did.
I love how Joseph describes it, "A celebration of one of the most beautiful moments that happened with those two buildings--right when they were being born." :)
+Amara Thohan This is what he said in his book: "My towers became our towers. I saw them collapse - hurling, crushing thousands of lives. Disbelief preceded sorrow for the obliteration of the buildings, perplexity descended before rage at the unbearable loss of life." Besides paying tribute to those who were killed, Petit also called for a rebuilding of the towers, promising that "When the towers again twin-tickle the clouds, I offer to walk again, to be the expression of the builders' collective voice. Together, we will rejoice in an aerial song of victory."
Just done watching 'The Walk' and it become my favorite right away. I may be too late to watch this but then I knew that this was based on a true story because I did heard it once. I just brush it off and thought the movie will make me feel just okay which delays me to watch this movie. Then slowly I forgot to watch this movie and funnily today I don't know why I suddenly remember about it and immediately watch it. I am amaze and it gave me heigh anxiety but at the same time thrilling and it was beautiful. I didn't believe some of the scenes were actually really where Phillipe walks a couple times and even sit and lay in the middle and the seagull with red that he saw, I thought it was just an exaggeration to make this movie interesting. However I quickly research and google about it and saw interviews and the real photographs and all of this are an actual events. Every details in the movie actually happened in the real life which makes me amaze even more. It is truly beautiful. This makes me change my perspective towards the WTC. It is an awful tragedy and it is normal for people to immediately thought about it when we mention 9/11 or WTC, but this makes me remember that there is also something beautiful happened way before the 9/11 and it is actually what makes the building beautiful. I could write a damn essay of what I thought or how I feel about the movie and the actual event. It is simply beautiful and I'm really appreciate this movie. It reminds us of the good times (even though I'm not born yet) and it is beautiful historical act. It is an art.
I just watched the movie last night and it was incredibly scary and I felt like it was real. I even lost my breath and started hyperventilating. It was really freaky. It certainly was an incredible stunt. I still can't believe he pulled it off. Congratulations Philippe Petit.
I've been on Kingda Ka, the tallest roller coaster in the world. When you're getting ready for it you're terrified but at the top it is absolute bliss. This is probably my favorite movie because it reminds me of when I lived so close to that roller coaster, driving there with friends, being terrified as I lower the bars over my chest and being so happy at the very top.
Awesome movie! Very inspired with lots of respect for Philippe Petit for his passion. Great cast, good delivery in recreating the phenomenal experience with great cast like Joseph Cordon Levitt. Gonna grab a copy of Petit's book. Love it!
I'd give anything to talk to philippe. He's such a gentle beautiful soul. To meet an artist like that is an honour. He's an amazing artist and a greater man
I visited the towers, after they bombed the basement. On the tour, I looked at the architecture and told myself that they will never bring town the towers. After they brought down the towers, I saw on the news, standing, the very part of the tower that I said could not come down. Now I know that this is in both the mind of the beholder and the creator, in that ,the towers first existed in the mind of the architect. And it probably still does and this is why there will be another one and it will still never come down.
I so wish I could have seen this in 3d now.. I just watched it. Very beautiful movie. They portrayed the artistic free nature so well it hurt my eyes haha. Maybe in some years I'll see this in 3d. Joseph Gordon levitts performance was amazing. In the beginning of this movie I thought they had done voice over
He didn’t use anything to support him except his own balancing. All these other performers usually have some support with lines attached to their backs. He was free and his performances are certainly something else.
Amazing was Mr Petit birthday August 13th 2024 turned seventy five years young . May he continue to live a very wonderful long life and continue to amaze the world with his fantastic and extraordinary talent . I thought I recognized Joseph Gordon Levitt in Third Rock . I like to see this movie .
I like how this interview end's. Like the Titanic I agree that The Walk is a love letter to the Twin Towers. Monsieur Petit vous m'avez impressionné. Ce filme m'a fait frissonner du début à la fin. Félicitations pour votre sang froid et votre belle carrière. Mes hommages 🎩😁
All I can say is even if Nik Wallenda has gone higher with his records, Philippe Petit still owns the record by my book, because he made eight passes on his wire while Wallenda only made one. Also Petit didn’t use a safety net or anything.
Amazing movie. Amazing actor. Very talented and very likable. I remember seeing that movie in the cinema... It was such uncomfortable feeling that my hands were sweating and I was looking forward the end of..even knowing the end of the story. The movie's special effects were created with a possibility of nowadays cinematography. Even more meaningful and significant after WTC collapse.
It’s weird hearing him talk normally because I usually only see him in the walk because I watch it every few months and never see him in anything else.
Man with joseph gordon levitt with many movies and shows he's been on the one that gets me thinking about reality as a whole or my imagination is the movie called Looper that movie is great in many many ways
When I think of Joseph I can not help but think about the first 2 movies I saw him in. That being Angels in the outfield and a river runs through it. Then on to Roseanne. Thankfully he made the jump from child actor to adult actor.
A beautifully made movie - Just watched it agian but on Dvd ? - I was hoping that on the Dvd extras - There would be a background piece about Phillippe Petit or at the very least photos about the walk ! But No! This movie was so realistic that is seems like the Twin towers are actually there standing majestic like overlooking NYC - JG-L pulls off being PP & with CGI technology they are all pull together to make you believe that we are eventually watching an event - That the world missed out on 1st time around Because unfortunately it was not filmed !!! thanks for sharing !
I watched this in 3D and it was cool but I will never forget 9/11 2001 when the towers fell into pieces. And in Manhattan those towers were 110 floors tall and those towers only survived 27 Years I,you, everyone will never forget 9/11
So cute that his towers were always his playground (like best friends or son-father or son-mother relationship) yet so tragic that his towers were murdered by terrorists and Philippe couldn't even say goodbye. 💔💔
This movie was great but the ending turned my stomach. I have a fear of heights. I don't even like being 3 stories high. Can't imagine someone like Petit doing this.
Viens Philippe, nous aussi allons te célébrer....ce film est à l'image du comédien...insipide... Ton documentaire est bien plus poétique..rien d'étonnant.... Magicien acrobate ;-) Love from FRANCE
Man Great Movie, Just Crazy and Confusing why they decided to make this Movie in 2015 and the fact that I Never heard of such an act Makes me Love And Miss those Buildings Even More ! Though if they were Built Again Of course Stronger/Safer And Petiet tried Doing this Christening stunt AGAIN I would Hope he would have a Harness on Incase he has lost Balance since he Is Older, THAT Would be Just as terrible if he fell and would give the "New Reborn towers a Curse anyway :/ But Alas He we are ..
Oh that towers still amazing after I watched THE WALK. I think Twin towers never fell in in everyone heart some how they can still see in their mind still stand tall. Just one reason I want to visit US because want to get in touch with WTC.
What I loved most about the movie is that it never mentions the 9/11 attacks. It really gave the audience the chance to remember the World Trade Center as a normal and peaceful place.
+Vlad Sicoe I totally agree. But 9/11 did happen after the events in the movie...
Mei-Lien Converse I'm aware of that. But I appreciated that here, for the first time in a long time, the Twin Towers were shown intact and standing proud, as they once did.
After I watched this film I really felt like the towers were still standing the film shouldve at least give a tribute
Jay Quinones No, it's perfect just the way it is. It mentions a beautiful event, and any mention of the 9/11 attacks would've just ruined it.
***** Yes, for me, that was the saddest scene in the whole picture. That, and the one where he is told that he gave the towers a soul.
Very grounded guy for a former child star. Respect
+fwd105 me too. I'm also laughting at the fact he has a kid & he's married beause he looks like a 23 year old
+GamingMoose21 Yeah. He was very well known by the time he was out of high school.
😓😰
I love how Joseph describes it, "A celebration of one of the most beautiful moments that happened with those two buildings--right when they were being born." :)
Should've gotten an Oscar nomination for his acting in this!
really? One of the worst performances he has I think

Thanks for sharing those quotes by Philippe. :0)
Awh man, wonder how he feels that they only built one tower.
@@johndough6225 What should i do with the other end now ;)
He felt like everyone else
One of the most underrated movies... top of the list.
Joseph is so kind. I love what he’s talking about.

Beautiful movie, love the mentality of Philippe! Impossible is nothing. Remember that

Joseph is a very good actor and a very kind man. I love him. I saw this movie and it’s absolutely amazing. Phillip Pettit is a hero.
Joseph is so down to earth love this guys acting performance is phenominal 😊❤.

it would be comparable if you had built Kingda Ka yourself without any test before and if it was 4 times higher
Awesome movie! Very inspired with lots of respect for Philippe Petit for his passion. Great cast, good delivery in recreating the phenomenal experience with great cast like Joseph Cordon Levitt. Gonna grab a copy of Petit's book. Love it!
I love how he still talks about the wire with passion!
I'd give anything to talk to philippe. He's such a gentle beautiful soul. To meet an artist like that is an honour. He's an amazing artist and a greater man
Its so inspiring to see these two be passionate about their craft.
Thank you for these better memories of the WTC

When I first watched this I didn’t even realize this was Levitt at the time, I can’t believe how great he played that role and accent.
I really enjoyed the movie ! He is so amazing ! Way to go ! Star that’s what he is ! The actor played a good part ! Amazing !
That's the most creative punishment i've heard : a free high wire performance for children of the central park 😂
Super inspiring film! I still can’t believe someone was brave enough to do something this incredible.
This interview was awesome!
I can only imagine Phillips reaction on 911
He was heart broken. You can find interviews where he talks about it.
You can find it in his book
This movie, The Walk and Into The Wild are fascinating! They bring tears to my eyes, tears of joy, tears of feeling free and being at peace 🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤
He didn’t use anything to support him except his own balancing. All these other performers usually have some support with lines attached to their backs. He was free and his performances are certainly something else.
*6:32** Tower never gones. Both and Rest all of Them Always There.*
It's amazing movie especially how the movie magic brought back the Twin Towers to life!
He loved the towers as I did. Great movie! Thanks.

Two incredibly talented men.
Nice interview! Good luck to both of them.
Thanks to this movie, I learned and now I'm a wire walker myself!

What a spirit.Hats off to this legend.
The only person who has the most memories with this tower, so sad its destroyed
Philippe Petit inspired me, is awesome movie (sorry, my english is terrible haha)

Ok am i the only one curious whatever happenned to that french girl annie?
+Prodigy How's Annie?
I read he cheated on her with a groupie so she went home to France she is also a very private person
Michael Jackson was just as curious as well, He ended up making a song about it....no sure if she ever responded.

One of my fav movies
I remember that walk Aug 7/74, like it was yesterday. And on Aug 9, US President Richard Nixon resigns! What a week it was in America.
this movie is amzing!!
This movie almost made my heart stop. I had to turn away from some scenes. Seriously, I couldn't handle this movie. I'm so afraid of hikes.
Probably the scariest movie ever
This is what art and joy can do! Leave you remembering something forever even though it's gone. In your face bin laden!

Eternal respect for Joseph Gordon Levitt for his role in Mysterious Skin

Funny how in the movie Joseph moves and speak like Phillipe, and in this interview looks like Phillipe is acting like Joseph's Phillipe.
i hope they build one more tower so he does a walk again :D
"Even laying down for a break...". 😜 Jesus!!!
Big dreams start with a little steps sometimes.
I wonder if Paul bettany was ever considered for the Philippe Petit role. He bears a strong resemblance to young Philippe and he’s a great actor!
You should interview, the Man who walked live on March 5th, 👍😉
