  • One of the biggest hits of silent movie hero Tom Mix's career, "The Great K & A Train Robbery" is a stellar example of the action-packed Westerns which made Mix famous world-wide. Mix always did his own stunts, and with each film he devised new breath-taking action sequences that left audiences cheering. Here Tom investigates some train robberies and brings the thieves to justice. Filmed in Canon City, Colorado and in the Royal Gorge in 1925, the film was released in October 1926 and was a smash hit. (Copyright expired. Public Domain). Digital restoration produced and edited by Richard Douglas Jensen. Music composed and produced by Evan MacDonald.

This is excellent. I'm a real silent film buff. The music is awesome, making the film very exciting. It's fabulous that silent films are growing in popularity. My Mother is 87, and she knows who Tom Mix was, but I think she's perplexed as to why I'm interested in this "old stuff", lol. I've always loved history, in all its forms ❤️.

How sad. So many great silents lost due to the nitrate negatives decomposing. Tom's best films are lost to time.

Tom is from a Pa. Western town named " DuBois " ; still quint & nice . The main actress had her eyes on Tom's fancy outfit; she wished that she could steal his duds and wear his fancy, sleek outfit herself !

That's right! Tom's father was the coachman on the Dubois Estate. He taught Tom all he knew about horses.
