Using capital letters on every word does not guarantee a capital career.
Practice, get good at making music, start dropping, STAY consistent, promote yourself & your on. Its not that deep, but it does take work. People either start dropping music & their not that good yet, or the quality sucks...or they drop music once every 3 months & dont promote thereself...etc. You gotta be on top of everything...Be patient, work & you got it!! Lifes what you make it! Awesome video bro, keep em goin!

This obsession with organic reach sounds like an artistic ego trap. Everybody has a blessing. Your success really starts when you recognize and capitalize on yours. Some people it's their looks, some money, some connects. Take what you can because everyone else is.

This is amazing. I think the question EVERY emerging artist should be asking isn’t “how do I build an organic buzz” it’s WHERE IS THE BEST place to put my money to get the most ATTENTION. Is it influencer marketing? Is it the right collab? Is it IG ads? Etc etc.
There it is 👆
All of the above, and put more into whichever is working..
👏yes👏yes👏yes👏
@Thor The God Of Thunder, Hoes, and Beer if like to know more about how to do that
Exactly right! I feel like there's a massive blue Ocean in crossing digital marketing (online advertising, sales funnels, etc.) and artist brands. It's not authentic for an indie artist to capture leads and sell you a ticket after a consistent drip email campaign, but that's "good marketing" if you're a label? The inconsistencies in this music game are wiiiild
If ur music is great and you are doing great marketing u probably going to make it 😉

I think the only thing really inorganic is buying likes, plays, or followers. These days algorithms in social media make it necessary to pay for ads and other ways for exposure.

i loved your point about using what we have- because so many times us artists feel discouraged because either we don't have enough money, or enough followers, or yada yada. But the reality is we're just wasting our time complaining about what we don't have vs using our time to enhance the skills that we do have or use the resources that we do have!
So thank you for reminding me of that- it's really so helpful!

I hate that "Starving Artist" act people try to push. In 2019 there are better ways to create a successful stream of income from your brand and music than trying to sleep on couches and studios across the country calling yourself "Hustling" . I know a few artists here in my small town who want "organic" fans. And they think paying for promo or playlist placement is "cheating" and they make good music... but they have been in the same spot for quite a while.
They always will and truth truth is they don’t really want to grow. It is what it is because it isn’t what it isn’t.
ruclips.net/video/AcRvP2-MzV0/видео.html

I don't know who came up with that organic term, but nothing about the music business is organic. People advertise all the time and in millions of ways. How is anyone going to find you without you advertising?
The starving artist had nothing to do with a record label. It was usually directed to independent artists who had no one behind them.

Love TJ Chapman. His live music reviews on Facebook are dope and super informative.
I put off advertising when I started off because I wanted to get a feel for how putting out content and "organically" marketing works. Then when I felt ready and felt I might make some money in return, I started advertising.
But advertising is the furthest thing from cheating. If it's cheating, every single brand for the past century is a cheater.
Preach!! I've been saying this to my friends forever. Being "organic " is going to kill your career
Everything you say is 100% correct. LOVE the "signed myself" shirt!!!!

In the end people being identified with being “genuine” or “organic” or “pure” is really just another thing they will try to play up later to market and promote themselves. The thing your method of promotion does not effect is the quality of your music. Make your music good first. Then understand that people want to hear it and make moves

That’s wtf I’m saying, seeing small artists post stuff like “nobody is listening to my song”, “I’m trying to make it”, or “ I put in all this work give me a chance”, is such a turn off. It makes them seem desperate and seems like they aren’t putting in the time to figure out how to make an audience care about their work. It really does give off “loser”. yup same thing for influencers take heed and learn all you can
Of course you need to invest in yourself and put money into your music but TRUST me when I say, some people out here can magically blow up. You have people that buy their careers with so many ads over time and then you have unique talented individuals that blow up because the song extraordinary. Nothing is impossible. You can make it organically and paid
I’m a little more seasoned and I’m from Macon, GA. It was understood that you had to spend money to get heard. We had to go to clubs and PAY the DJs to get your record played. You had to PAY to get in front of people at these showcases. You had to actually take trips to spread the word about your music. You had to PAY to get a big DJ to host a mixtape. You can pay $100 get your song in front of thousands of people all at once now. These labels and these artists have these fake 0-100 in 3 month stories bro. It’s throwing these young artists off their game.
Yea man. That's the old school now....The internet and "going viral" reeeeally made a lot of people run with this "organic" narrative. They even try to flip it and make it sound empowering and pure. Just like "DIY". The buzz words will mess you up though.
This was really helpful. Thank you for this ♥️
this is soooooo on point 💯
Record labels are not STILLING artist money. First of all, this game is not designed for the artist to make money from sell or the record. Its always been designed for an artist to make money on shows appearances and endorsement.
Artist sign the contract and then cry they getting beat.... but they are now BIG!!!.
That's like everyone saying TLC got beat out their money.... why everyone can get a lawyer but themmmm?????... wow
Yes... and then they made a movie about it.... make it seem more real.....wow. people are fooled by this game.
I know you are just starting music recording network.... but you should teach a class on this stuff. Some of us want to learn from you.
Working on that now... sub to stay up.
I gotta add to this, Lil Nas X promoting “Old Town Road” with memes was genius.
