You can tell Jim knows what he is doing. He makes everything look so easy because he has done it many times before. Great video as usual.

compression fitting can be used on air lines or water lines but never hyd brake lines ,they run from 800 psi too 2000 psi .

  • @dougr3715

I’ve had the best luck using Snap On flare wrenches, but not on a rounded fitting!

Clean with brake fluid? Did you mean brake parts cleaner?

  • @toenails.

Always a fun job after you replace the blown line and pump the brakes to bleed out and blow another line. Lol

  • @makosharkcnc7730

Jim what type of flaring tool do you recommend? sae or metric

  • @vincentlallo6543

    Where's Your Shop Now ??

  • @bobbylibertini

The main reason you never want to use a compression fitting on brake lines, is because they were never designed to handle the pressure that hydraulic brake lines operate under. One day you'll hit the brakes...and it'll just blow out.

Come on Jim, you have been in business long enough. You don't accept a customer wanting to cheap out on doing something as important as brakes. You know full well if one line blew, the rest aren't far behind. You either replace all lines, or turn the job away. You don't need the liability that you do the brakes and should there be an accident, it's on you. It's easy enough to get pre bent lines for something like a Cherokee. I've done them on the ground. You having a shop and a lift, it's better safe then sorry.
