Keep up the great work loving your vids!
Asbestos was limited to drum shoes?
I used to be a small engine mechanic, and I love all your advice for car owners...
I bet the BMW driver wasn’t getting good gas mileage either. Great video as usual, keep them coming.
Driving a BMW, probably never even notice the difference between 8 MPG and 11 MPG anyway, still terrible at best ;-)
Great advice, and so simple, good preventive maintenance. Thanks, Jeff
Ok here is my comment.
Mr Scotty your doing a fine job .
Thanks for all the help and keep on making great videos.
God bless you
TD

Sage advice from my favorite RUclipsr!
Scotty’s yard will probably be designated a superfund site.
LOL
Sell all tools be a millionaire
Sam S. Lanai As a safety and environmental professional I was thinks the same thing......
I don’t know if you have ever used brake cleaner, but that stuff evaporates pretty fast and with as hot as it looks in the video it was probably gone in no time.
i wish he was my neighbor.
Thanks for the great tips Scotty.
Now, go get a cold beer 🍺
i'm 19 and clueless. i just got my first car but it's been sitting for a long while and it's all rusty. this video taught me a lot, thank you!
Clean, non offensive comment- I really like your show and I need some brake clean
Your clean non offending comment was as great as mine...maybe better
@@G0dspelronin except it's BrakeKLEEN not clean. Watch the guy win and not even know that
Another nice job Scotty thanks a lot I watch your videos all the time
I’m doing a brake job next week by myself for the first time.
I did my first about four months ago. What a rush to complete that job on my own!
Update?
i wish theres a shop where people can bring in their car and fix it themselves by having someone like this guy tell us what to do and what tools to use. that was be awesome.
Can you please move to Brooklyn New York we need a honest mechanic
Brooklyn...where men are men...and so are the women
@@sirjohndoeofpa3292 more like the women are women...and so are the men.

5:09 If you were Scotty's neighbor, you could watch him out your window every day.
I would be honored to have him as a neighbor and especially to watch him make his videos. :)
"There goes the crazy old guy yelling at a camera again"
This would be a blast!
He can fix your car for free! Maybe
I once saw a neighbor photobomb one of his videos. He was just walking by and was looking at Scotty doing a video as he kept walking.
Love your videos ! And all your knowledge Scotty ! I've learned so much from you , thank you for taking the time to teach all of us your tips , and tricks !!
I've been watching Scotty longer than any other auto mechanic on you tube! Very educated and truly Master Mechanic!
make your brakes happier fitter more productive, don't delay spray today.
Copyright that jingle and sue anyone that steals it.
Macbooks are endless money pits.
How to make your car brakes last forever ?
Buy one of Scotty's top NOT RECOMMEND VEHICLES.
Because they won't start up & goes no where and never get friction.
Always good to see your informative videos Scotty! Thanks for making them.
Scotty is fantastic. He gives so much useful information. He knows his stuff.
Brake clean on actual brakes?
No thanks. I'll stick to cleaning my engine and everything else on the car with brake clean
Tried on pads, after sometime the pads came off leaving the iron to disk bare, metal to metal 🤢
FIREARMS CLEANER!!!
@@shaf3006 You can't clean pads only the rotors.
Brake cleaner is basically just a kitchen degreaser on steroids it would clean the engine, it would clean all the oil off the cyclinder walls.
Brake cleaner is like a 10mm. It's never there when I need it.
Ben C that would be a 13mm for me
My .45 is aways handy
13 mm definately!
That's like a 15 for me
I'm now up to my 3rd 10mm spanner in a year. Honestly, where the F do they go???
I bought a Nissan so I need everything possible so it won’t break down 😂 Thanks Scotty!
wish i could find another mechanic as honest and knowledgeable as Scotty in Houston. my P0171 is kicking my A**
First time I have ever seen the suggestion to flush out old brake fluid, it’s about time. Yeehaw.
I think it's underrated. I once flushed mine, and they were significantly better.
My dealer “suggests” brake fluid flush every oil change lol. I’ve paid to have it done but not sure they actually do it.
Love your videos. I save them all. Thank you.
Scotty, my dad bought a 2004 1/2 Silverado 2500 HD diesel when it was about 6 months old. He has had it ever since and has pulled 8000-12000lb. loads frequently since he got it. He had to replace the brake pads and rotors on the front for the first time at 217,000 miles. The rear pads and rotors are still original at 222,000 miles.
