Man, i'm not sure but... Did the Protagonist's family died during the invasion? I mean, in the beggining a medallion with all his family is shown, after the alien attack sequence, he just closes it, that can mean a lot of things, but not exactly why he's heading towards a suicide mission (even though he survives at the end)

I knew it had to have been made by Konami! lol it might be kinda lame, but I recognized some explosion sounds from Contra III >_>. Really hope it releases on the VC for the Wii soon though.

Axelay was definitely the best shoot em up games for the SNES.
Even if missiles are stronger than lasers in this game, Axelay is definitely a classic.

I always took it that they had died, yes.

It would make more sense that they died, since the missions were all practically suicide. A nothing to lose man.
