This was my favorite stage of the game, loved the music for it. That, accompanied by the sounds of the explosions and the sounds of objects being pounded by the blasts from the laser guns is just very soothing to me:)
I saw an ad in EGM when I was in the 6th grade and thought, hmm, looks okay, and just bought it impulsively from the store later--I had no idea how amazing it was and still is today, compared with other schmups. This level had the best music too...
I wish they still made SNES games. It really was the golden era of gaming, for me anyway. Something about the unique sound of 16-bit cartridge music just strangely appeals to me too.
I LOVE the music for this stage. And, then it's accompanied by such a great game, couldn't begin to ask for more! I remember back in the day when I had this game, sometimes I would play it just to come to this stage and hear the music, it was that relaxing to me! Damn, I miss this game:(
The album HOPE from Kukeiha Club has a song called "We Love People" which has a similar vibe to this! Both rhythmically and in chord type/construction. Looks like KHInsider has the track.
Personally, whenever I hear the Stage 3 music, I think of F-Zero. Speaking of F-Zero, stage 3 is like a mixture of both Mute City III and Red Canyon. Not to mention Stage 4 bears a resemblance to Metroid.
You're not the only one. All the over-cooked and over-priced garbage that people swoon over these days makes me sick. I miss off-the-wall stuff like Axelay and other SNES classics.
@xNapalmChrisx Was just saying to my friend last night whom has wasted thousands of pounds on x-box 360 ps3 and nintendo wii consoles and games. That nothing at all compares to the playability the snes had. Guess its time for another super castlevania 4 run through.
The music is awesome in that stage.
What a vast understatement! I love this level. I ALWAYS turned it up when I got to the boss. Stage 3 boss music is my fav track of the game!!

one of the best themes in the game
all the levels on this game have some of the best music ever! even the sound effects still sound cool! thanks for posting the vids!
My favorite music of the game ❤️

Yeah for real it was the golden era. Just epic. The game play, the music and the sync play! Just fucking sick.
The boss always reminded me of an enemy of Arkanoid.
Best song in the game.
I love the music for this stage!
best track of this game. Purrfect for a New Las Vegas or whatever it was this stage. Simply awesome! :)
Wow, this dude was clowin. Sitting between the 2 close beams...
I love how this boss goes from witch hat to pumpkin-ish: Halloween theme?
And this music is my favorite all time for video games.
Axelay and Super Castlevania 4 were my games :) I still play on my SNES sometimes.
this entire soundtrack is fire but stage 2, 3 and 4 are genius
So true!!!
1:42 Headed airship: Two kids gonna...
. Axelay airship: FAK YOU GOKU!! >:)
I agree with you man!The best music of the whole game!

Amazing how you steer between the laser beams of the boss!
yeah my favorite stage with my favorite boss

You got that right. It really is. Man didn't know this game was for the SNES as well.
@ 4:10 or so, when you stayed between the narrow beams-you showoff! ;)
Pop N Twin Bee, Zombies Ate My Neighbours and Tiny Toons Adventures were great too. Konami and Capcom - I miss when you had a clue.
Many agree. Many who grew at that era will agree.
No kidding! Has kind of a funky swing to it. :P
I remember as a kid I called this boss the "Witch Hat"
What a close shave!
damn, nerves of steel.
04:07 until the end was great ;)
Between this game, SuperCastlevania and Super Contra, Konami was killer for the SuperNintendo! Did I forget any Konami classics on the SNes??
The Boss of this Stage look's like a Witch's Hat lol.
Nice game BTW.

I always called this boss the witch's hat.

I sense a market here. :D
wow you had quite a few close calls during the boss battle!

Gradius III
Nice song but I still prefer the theme of level 1.
Just Super Nintendo in General. lol =)

They could have never made a game like this on Genesis. Genesis sucked. SNES wins hands down on graphics and sound.
