Whisky.com reviews the Glenfiddich Our Small Batch Eighteen. Glenfiddich Our Small Batch Eighteen first matured for 18 years in sherry and bourbon casks. Master Distiller Brian Kinsman then selected 150 casks. Divided into small batches, the malt matured for blending for another 3 months in wooden mixing vessels.

Hello Horst ! i just started enjoying whiskies and joined a whisky club, and whenever i get a new whisky i watch your video on it while trying to taste the same notes as you, it is useful and also very gemütlich. I saw in your bio that you studied in Darmstadt and I also did for one semester and have many a fond memory from the goldene krone kneipe where i had Darmstädter biers while the owner who had served with Elvis in wiesbaden told stories ( just in case you take the random reference !) Thank you for your videos and slainte from Oslo:)

Hi Horst, I imagine you put that one clearly behind the (old) Glenlivet 18, of 43%. You never reviewed the newer Glenlivet 18 batch reserve, wich is only 40%.

This one or a Macallan 12y shery cast?
Both are really great choices. The Macallan Sherry Cask matured only in sherry cask, therfore it offers more sherry typical aromas. Glenfddich 18 y.o. matured in a mix of Bourbon and Sherrycask and has more oakiness in it. Depending on your own prefernence you can go with either one.
@@Whiskycom thank you so much for answering. It's a gift for my father, first time offering whisky, so not really sure what's his particular preference. I think I'll go with the Glenfiddich and let's see what he thinks of it.
yeah me too i am a sucker vor this one i have always 1 bottle in my colecktion why becouse it is good bud not exciteting whiskey borring hahaha bud sometimes you want somthing good at the end of youre work day you are tired you want somthing good bud donth want spending all evening thinking about the whiskey then you need this one its good bud easy price point around 80 or 90 euro good buy this is the only bottle who i have in my big colecktion when the bottle is olmost done i buy a new one only becouse it is good easy sipping whisky

Consider that it is 40% which is quite low for such hefty money. For that price the competition is very high for this bottle.

this one is 43abv in the united states and ive only seen it in a brown rectangular box.
