Hi Suzi, great work to remove all the bricks outside. I wouldn't destroy all the covered parts outside, but clear them and try and make them nice outdoor covered spaces when you want to enjoy cooking in the open air.. or just putting a washing line outside ,but covered...just my opinion. I am so pleased for what you've done so far , everything looks so nice inside❤❤
Thanks for the idea Luisa. The roof has to come off as it leaks. Whether I try to fix it is another matter. It’s not my priority project so I think it will stay for the summer at least. Just need to tidy it all up 😀💕
House looks amazing! Why not build a shade pergola over the entrance to your yard so you can park there and make something else nicer from the barn area. Don’t want to see cars from your bed!
Hello Suzie, could you "Pretty up" the old toilet up, for the time being? Put some flower pots on top, paint the wall, plant a Wysteria to grow up it, put the old blue tablethere and paint the door blue, use it for planting up plants etc- give you a prettier view of it for now. If it has a water supply, or outside useageble toilet, id keep it - just make it pretty..I didn't have an outside toilet in France and really could have done without having to come into the house everytime when working in the garden...muddy boots of every time. i had an outside water tap which was great for washing of freshly picked fruit and veg...you really are making lots of progress, so good to see.
Hi Elizabeth, thanks for the inspiration about the outside old bathroom. It no longer has a connected water supply and it is now just housing the septic tank. I will tidy it up for now as it’s not my priority project 😀💕
Hi Suzi, it’s really nice to see you with your hair down it really suits you. I agree that the building is not pleasant to look out on . I think once removed and the roof slab saved it would make a great outdoor table in the garden area you were talking about. ❤❤😊😊
Because I watch RUclips on my TV I have to consciously bring it up on my iPad at the same time in order to like/comment. I am getting better at remembering to do that 😊 I used to think “There’s no point in me being annoying by adding a comment that similar to loads of others” - not understanding that it might help the channel by interacting. I’m learning 😂
Hi Suzi, that little shed has immense potential to be repurposed as a garden shed with a slanting roof to collect rainwater for the garden. Painted up, shelves affixed for growing herbs etc in pretty pots, a bit of feature timber or tiled panel…I did that to an old outside brick toilet in my garden in the Dão.
Now I do see the grass is cut. It looks so nice, and your beautiful sweet pea plants!! A little at a time and you will have your own little paradise! 💗
Ola’ Suzi can you use them big rocks by your plunge pool for steps to get in your pool just an idea and the outside toilet paint it and paint some sunflowers 🌻🌻🌻🌻so when you get up in the morning it will be like sunshine coming in to your bedroom 💪you can do it 💪👍✌️🤙❤️🇵🇹❤️
My guess would be that your 'growing stuff' outside likely will need lots of water when compared to UK .. down here in North Canterbury NZ I have to water my veggies TWICE a day in the peak of summer or they wilt and droop on hot dry days. Those lovely Sweet Pea flowers like to be picked regularly which is great for the vases indoors .. otherwise they develop seed pods and stop growing more flowers, having achieved their aim in life. Try to pick more than half 🙃. - Suzi, when I planted my fruit trees - I put a length of PVC downpipe into the ground beside them to pour the water in to the root systems underground from the hose. Your grey paintwork looks good.
Hi Susie, its good that you have more of a rock base in your courtyard. Once the corner is cleared of weeds, a load of gravel, ( later)€'s! will make it super! Terracotta feature Pots everywhere, and outdoor furniture and umbrella with base will give instant, character. Consider painting that grey cement block ex shower room now septic tank holder, a fresh white, with a dark green door. Like the entrance to the secret garden. You can paint an arch with flowers on the side and around the door. An old bicycle with holder for Marigolds propped against corner. A real focal talking point.challenge! (Smart)+ Antique style, old, cheapy handle, + horse shoe for luck!.nailed on.. A terracotta pot, ginger jar shape, with a bougainvilla will quickly cover the roof and trail over car port roof as well. Imagine the wow! Colour Factor! Love those rustic car port, roof support pillars. Wrap wire around. Another matching t/cotta pot at base with a Jasmine? Rose? creeping up. Decor rules. Are you converting the attached flat into a guest room?Did builder leave outside loo in place? So Susi you will have a nice view by wieding a paint brush, and white painted walls always look as if just built! Believe me!💐🐝🦋🐈🤔🤗
Thanks Nicolette for all your beautiful ideas. There is no loo in there. Just the septic tank. I really want to see the view that’s behind it. For now it stays as it’s not my priority but I will clear all the stuff from the roof and think about it’s destiny 😀💕
Hi Suzi. It's Raquel. You are doing a great Job young Lady.I am Happy the Man came to pick up that Rubble on your Land. And keep doing good and keep Cracking on your doing great the Bathroom Cabinet Looks great and your kitchen.I can't wait for you to Clear Out the Car Place and keep Cracking on.Love you Suzi and your Land is Looking good.❤ Raquel.
Remember to take of the tags off the plants and trees so they don’t get choked as they grow. I’m not sure if it’s wise to put a tree so close to your grapevines. The tree will shade the vines as they grow. I’m curious, do grapevines grow well on the floor without a trellis or wire? And I think the loquat(nispero) might need to be trimmed at the bottom so it concentrates in growing up and not out.
Thank you for this advice. I will be resolving all. In this region in Portugal the vines are left to grow along the ground. I would like to train them up. A future project 😀💕
Me again...best to plant in Autumn, so rain will water them in. You have lots to water now on going...Something red in the corner of orchard? Dont forget used teabags, egg shells and fruit n veg peels dug in next to fruit trees. Will rot in to feed them ..😊
Love the chairs and all the rubble being cleared away, what a difference that has made. Makes your vision that bit easier eh. Smashing vlog as usual Suzi oh and yes I like the colour of the cabinet in the bathroom, just perfect. Take care xx
Your home is looking really beautiful, I particularly love the kitchen chairs you chose, the colour is absolutely unique and spot on match with your lovely green cabinets. You are certainly making great progress and I really look forward each week to the next episode of your amazing journey. Well done Suzi xxx
Olá Suzi, a casa ficou linda 🎉.
Thank you Sergio. Theo and Bee are friends so he always gives me advice. I’m not sure what you mean about a cellar? This means an underground room for us English which I don’t have? Thank you for your well wishes 🙏💕
your home and land are beautiful. You have made it your own while keeping the character of the building. Love everything you are doing. I really like the color in the bathroom. Gray is beautiful. I have learned so many things from you. I hope to apply some of the things you have taught me in my own renovation. sending love from Italy.
Thanks for your vid 😇💟💟💟 Love and bless you Susi, fruit trees should be planted before winter because they grow roots when there are no leaves and the ground is more wet and soft.
Hi Suzi, perhaps the sweet peas leaves are sunburned. Because the wall behind them, gives them a lot of heat too. Like your videos'about gardening and renovating the house a lot!
I'd paint building housing the cesspit white for now so it looks tidy like you did at the last house, plenty of time to get rid of it one day. If you use scissors to cut sweet pea flowers for the house you'll find it much easier, the more you cut the more flowers you'll get, pretty though they are you need to pick most of them or the plant won't bother making more. I'd be itching to get a garden in the corner of the yard!
The place is looking beautiful. I think the color of the bathroom vanity is perfect. I wonder if you will need to have a bit of a rebuild on your future car shelter. I would put an insulated roof panel as well. That heat is must be murder on a car. So nice to get that pile of rubbish out. 🙂👍👍🇨🇦
They look far high counter high. I thought it I knew Cable said it looks like something from that 50s and I get like a little high for me in a second so even though they were metal legs I had my handyman cut off about 2 inches off the bottom and know they’re so comfortable. They’re a little bit low but I’ve always prefer my chairs low whether I’m working at a desk or sitting at a table because when sit lower I sit straighter instead of hunching my back.
So many exciting projects to come! Looking forward to seeing them! I would keep the rickety shed and turn it into an outside kitchen/potting place. So many fun things could be done to the outside of it...wondering if you could take down some of the stone wall on the other side of your home and park in that area? Perhaps behind that other little extension so you would not have to look at the car. Love the grey in the bath.
Great progress you have made since moving to your new property, well done! One thing to consider while cleaning up and leveling is drainage. It needs a slope in the direction of where you want the surface water to go so you don't get flooded during a downpour. In the engineering world surface drainage of 15cm in 30m or less is considered flat. Hopefully, the guy on the mini excavator was thinking about that when he was cleaning up.
Thanks for the advice. It’s sloping down to the bottom area which is where the soak away is, so all good. However, the flood happens on the top area as the water pools where the granite lies so I will put stones on that part (the entrance way) to help with this problem. 😀💕
Hi Suzie, it great to see you video's and be apart of your channel growing. As you probably know your fruit trees will need plenty of watering for the first couple of summers until they get established, maybe a very simple watering system. Also os there a reason for planting some of the fruit trees so close to the vines? Love your channel. Xxx ❤❤❤
Hi Anneta, I do plan to set up an irrigation system. The vine next to the one fruit tree was a surprise. I need to cut that one back. It’s so nice to have you here 🙏💕

I have really enjoyed your journey to making this your home. Love the new chair color perfect!
Thank you so much Susan. Lots more to come 😃💕
A carport is a great idea!
I love that blue table in the shelter thingy
It was an old table that was left here. Maybe it will look nice in the garden area somewhere in the summer 😀💕
The bathroom vanity colour looks very luxe! Your sink is a thing of beauty in the bathroom.
Thank you 🙏💕
A dipping pool/plunge pool sounds perfect for that old storage tank. I hope you’re able to get it ready to enjoy this summer 🩵
I hope so too! 😀💕
You have worked very hard and it has paid off, both in your beautiful home and in the number of people finding your channel. Congrats!
Thank you so much! I enjoy it all 😀💕
Hi Suzi, great work to remove all the bricks outside.

Hi Suzi, it’s really nice to see you with your hair down it really suits you. I agree that the building is not pleasant to look out on . I think once removed and the roof slab saved it would make a great outdoor table in the garden area you were talking about. ❤❤😊😊
Thank you Donald for the compliment. It’s normally too warm to have my hair down. Yes, that building needs to go 😀💕
Suzi, I would turn that little ugly duckly building into something pretty and use it for storage. 🥰
Yes i often watch videos without hitting like ..its easy to forget.

@dreamlifeportugal This part is so Vital! You can build an easy greenhouse or potting shed in a more appropriate spot.
Now I do see the grass is cut. It looks so nice, and your beautiful sweet pea plants!! A little at a time and you will have your own little paradise! 💗

Only water when the sun goes down or you going to burn the leaves 😍

Hi Suzi great job love the start of your fruit garden. Nice chairs. Enjoy
Thanks so much 🙏💕
Yes sweet peas need consistenct moisture. Your place looks good.
They are getting it 🙏💕
Hello Suzi, I would keep the small building, make it really pretty.
For now I will 🙏💕
Bom dia Suzi obrigado pelo vídeo adorável ❤

It looks like if a cut worm got hold of it under ground.
I don’t think we have those here in Portugal 🤔🙏💕
Orange tree could be the winter fruiting kind.
I think it is as it has started to grow tiny green balls 🍊💕
Enjoy your day

Ya inside of Portugal is really hot. It's also trh cheapast to buy ,-P Good luck have a good week
I did not know that about the lemon tree. I will plant another in a corner 🍋 💕
It's looking good 🎉xxx
Thank you Carol 🙏💕
my understanding is the more sweet peas are cut, the more they flower.😊
Thank you for this information Jan 🙏💕
Your home looks so beautiful ❤
Thank you!! 😊
Well done ..Keep going
Thank you, I will 🙏💕

Thank you Michelle 🙏💕

Nice progress
Thanks! 🙏💕
Suzi you have several out buildings what will you use them for?
Projects for the future. The larger one for another bedroom and bathroom 😃💕
Are u going to have a gate built? 😊
I am going to buy some metal gates 😀💕
Impressive progress. But why is your cat meowing so much? Is he OK?
He wants attention. He’s always been like this. He likes to be near me so if I walk away from him he meows 😅💕
❤
You need two nespereiras because 1 male and other female for them to be fruitful.Dont worry if you have 2 females or males because they will transform themselves into a couple.
Wow. That’s a fascinating piece of information 👍🏻
This is interesting information. It did have some fruit but it didn’t grow. I think I need to cut off the lower growth 😀💕
hello i think it is lathyrus
Ok. Thanks 🙏💕
Question: who is going to harvest all this produce you are growing? Seems you got the cart ahead of the horse.
I will share it with my friends and neighbours. Freeze it, get creative or leave it to decompose back into the land 😀💕
Really beautiful choices you have made....a home you have every reason to be proud of and to thoroughly enjoy....what a fabulous transformation...classy and fresh and unique...just like you! lol....xxx
Thank you so much Lee for all the praise and compliments 🙏💕
❤💚
Suzie please think about putting in air-conditioning
I don't think air con is big in Portugal, and might be expensive to run.
I don’t like aircon. The stone walls are a natural insulator - keeping the house cooler in summer and warmer in winter 😀💕
❤
