    If you care about the value of your cars, all of the models in this video are relatively sensible choices at the moment. We saw that there are only a handful of cars for which price continued to increase, but that there is quite a large group that falls between the 0 and -5%. This group consists out of old cars but also still relatively new cars. All of this means that you could have driven some of those cars, basically for free.

    I bought a nearly new 911s in 2009 for 45% off MSRP from a dealer. The point is when the economy really goes into the dump, exotic cars drop by about half as people get scared and ditch their toys.

      I looked at 997 Turbos then and instead bought a new R35 GTR - it lost £3k a year over 6 years. I feel a 992 Turbo S might be on the cards when things get rougher. I have wanted one for 20 years, but I have to buy it well to make it sweet.

      Also had a delivery miles R8 V10 in 2021. Ran it for 18 months and it lost £3k. I do miss it, but got out at the top. I love buying in recessions. This video shows that prices are still much higher than 2020. Like houses, I'm not nibbling at these prices.

    If I was going to get something that i could drive for several years and then sell it for no loss id get a 90k-110k mile 996 911 turbo for at absolute max $40k. With a little patience I think I could find one for $30k-35k in good condition though. In 5 years the value will be at least the same as what it costs to buy right now... and that's after putting another 50k-60k miles on it. If you get something with 50k miles on it the price right now will be tens of thousands of dollars more and the value dropping due to additional miles could outpace future market values. A 100k mile 911 turbo will sell for only slightly less than one with 150k miles. A 100k mile 911 turbo sells for drastically less than one with 50k miles

    Just wait until next year when the economy tanks and all these overpriced collectibles and weekend cars will be pennies on the dollar. I’ve seen this play out the past 50 years a lot of people in this economy have huge car payments, there credit cards are maxed out,wait until unemployment skyrockets and people are liquidating everything. Just be patient enthusiast and save your money, you will get your dream car soon

  • @driliagor
    @driliagor 5 месяцев назад

    All these trends are very temporary for recent crazy years. You cannot predict that the same remain in the future. So your “zero loss” car is not such in the future. Own based on your desires and what makes you happy. Especially when considering 100k range.

      You are 100% correct, I remember 2008 the economy was a disaster and all the fun weekend cars were at rock bottom prices. The 70s 80s 90s and every 10 years or so the economy tanks and all these people over levered were dumping toys at pennies on the dollar

    It's more of Porsche than all of the other cars video -- say like Mclaren, Lamborghini etc etc.
    What about the 2nd Gen Acura NSX ? I thought you said this car is a good buy and less depreciation?
    Didn't even mention any of these cars.

    • @fourwheeltrader
      @fourwheeltrader  7 месяцев назад +5

      Other cars are not mentioned because they don't rank among the top in terms of price increases (which is the main topic of this video). The mileage sensitivity- and high depreciation video of a few weeks ago featured plenty of other brands.

      @@fourwheeltrader I feel like it is a bit odd that Lamborghini's aren't included in this video at all. I mean the Performante should have made the list somewhere right? If you included a 458 Speciale (which is a special 458 model) I"m sure the Performante deserves mention by your price increase criteria

    • @fourwheeltrader
      @fourwheeltrader  7 месяцев назад +1

      @@omarqureshi6358 I am missing one data point for the performante to be included in this video. That is, i cannot calculate the YoY change for it. It will be included in the next round. In general, I am gathering more data on Lamborghinis as they have been under represented.

    • @XennialGuy
      @XennialGuy 7 месяцев назад +5

      It's a simple answer. The 812 is not doing well and wouldn't qualify for this video. I've been seeing them tanking the past 6 months. And they are down 15% to 20% from their peak over a year ago and there doesn't seem to be a bottom yet.

    • @fourwheeltrader
      @fourwheeltrader  7 месяцев назад +3

      The 812 superfast does not belong to the group of cars for which prices increased or hardly decreased.
